My mother's check engine light came on so I called around to have someone use a reader to tell me what was wrong with it. The reader said it was the ignition coil and the O2 sensor. So I called mechanics to see where to get the car in for her and to get a quote. Everyone I called was at least a week out. I called Mastiff and they got it in the same day and they came in quite a bit less than other places I called. They even came and picked it up for her! Then, they actually checked on their own to make sure what the problem was before they fixed it. Turns out the ignition coil was the only problem and the car didn't need an O2 sensor at all! They COULD have charged us for the O2 sensor and I wouldn't have known any better, but they were honest about what needed to be done. They were incredibly friendly as well. Bought a car from James, it broke down, he has been working on it for 9 months and still can't fix it. Some mechanic. Definitely don't recommend using him. Says he can't afford to give us our $ back. Only positive thing he did was warranty it.

I called all over to find someone to look at my car and all the places we called were at least a week out for the appointment, just to see it. Mastiff said bring it in the day of and we did and they had it done, running great, in like two hours! I super recommend this place to anyone in the area! They are very professional, friendly, and speedy! Thank you Mastiff!

James was a lifesaver today. Every other shop refused to help on short notice or even look at the issue. My emergency turned out to be a quick fix and James refused to take my money. Thank you for showing this traveling Canadian some genuine Montanan hospitality.

Complete Engine Replacement:James helped to replace an engine in our 2008 Ford Explorer. He was able to get a great price on the replacement and labor. Not only that, he got it done super quickly. Our ford is running great! He definitely stands behind his work and is a honest man. I have so far as to recommend him to other family members needing help with their vehicles. He is a great guy, did a fantastic job, and we have found our mechanic for all our vehicles now and will be coming back. Thanks James!-Myles Almaguer

James has been working on our family vehicles for over a decade! His work is outstanding, very professional, based on years of experience and his rates are incredibly affordable! He's extremely honest about what you do and don't need and he's always there to offer factual opinions on what you should be doing to insure that your vehicles run like they are supposed to! He constantly goes the extra mile to insure that his clients are very satisfied with his work! I can't imagine letting anyone else work on our cars and trucks! In fact, we have another terrific truck project in the works with him as I type this. Highly recommended!

Very happy with the service at Mastiff Mechanic. They changed my rear brakes as well as my spark plugs in my Jeep. They got me in the next day after I called and took care of my vehicle very quick. I have been driving for a couple weeks since and there are zero issues with the work. I definitely will be going back to them in the future.Service: Brakes

Called Rick who switched out my burned out headlight within 1/4hour and diagnosed my other concerns. Knowledgeable and friendly mechanic!James was able to do my oil change scheduled maintenance and work in getting a great deal on window regulator. Trustworthy and fair prices!Find the cinder block shop and you ve found reputable mechanics.

my lights weren't working , called around to several places and no one would ever look at it for a couple weeks. He got me in within hours. in and out in 20 minutes. After some frustrating experiences elsewhere, we took our car to Mastiff Mechanic. What a great move! James and Rick were terrific. They fixed our engine s problem, which to us was complicated. But these guys are highly experienced, skilled, knowledgeable, and dedicated. James was also a pleasure to work with, very communicative, and fair priced. James is fantastic! Always helping me as a single mom. I trust him to do what is right and not look for things that "might need fixed in the future." If something is wrong he stays in good communication throughout the process and when funds are tight he lets me know what can wait and what has to be done now. It is nice to be able to reach out anytime and ask questions. He has also helped many friends with their vehicles. If you need a good honest mechanic give them a call.

James is an excellent mechanic who helped my family save a lot of money when our car broke down. He explains everything he's doing and is very friendly and knowledgeable. He had our car running within a day after we called him and the cost was half of what I estimated it to be! Finding a mechanic you trust with your time and money is difficult, My family will be using Mastiff Auto for all our future mechanical needs.

James is a rock star. My AC went out traveling from the East Coast out to Montana. I brought my car in and James was able to replace the compressor, and did it within a tight timeframe as I wasn't staying in the area very long, and at a very fair price. The AC went out again days later, but since I was far from the area, James was able to work with me, had phone calls with another local mechanic to help them diagnose the issue, AND paid for second repair! James went above and beyond.

I have a 2008 Ram 3500 with a 6.7 Cummins and I ve taken it to two dodge dealerships and they couldn t find the problem with it. It would throw a code every time I towed with it and sometimes with just normal driving. Mastiff auto found the problem and fixed it! They did a great job and the prices were very reasonable! I m so happy to have my truck running right again and it s all thanks to Mastiff for knowing Diesel engines as well as they do!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

James was an angel! The drive belt came off the Jeep because of a seized idler pulley. He came out less than an hour after my call and had it fixed in less than half an hour for less than the quote! I highly recommend this shop!!!

James and Rick are awesome, skilled and fair priced, polite and down to earth!! In such a busy shop, they always take the time to help when needed, always willing to get you a ride home or come to the rescue when your car dies at the autoparts store. Great shop!!

My favorite people ever they help me whenever I need it, they make sure it works and I never have to take my car back to redo anything. James and Rick are up front honest and the price is right every time. would never change my mechanic!!!
