We stopped in Gardiner during a cross-country road trip when the front end of our Subaru started rattling and grinding. Fearing the worst after some online research and finding a visible broken part under the car, we started looking for auto repair. Everyone was nice but super backed up, like a week or more. Then I called Bill Hill. Luckily he could see us the next morning at opening.Don t be offput by the steep curving gravel driveway. Bill had us pull into the garage. You could see him listening intently as we went in.20 mins later we were on our way, fully diagnosed and reassured that we could make it all the way to Portland without additional service.

We were two rubbertramps travelling accross Canada from east to west and then from west to east through the USA. One day we were stuck in Yellowstone NP, no brakes anymore. The Sinclair auto repair in the NP and in Gardiner did not want to work on the van and preferred to let us go through mountains without brakes saying it was safe. We nearly died on these roads when brakes gave up two hours after. We found Bill thanks to the kind people of Gardiner. This guy worked on the van, fast and well. He managed to do it faster than the other auto repairs miles away from Yellowstone would have done. He is kind, honest, and knows what he does. So if your stuck near Yellowstone, and that auto repairs say that they won't be able to repair it before 1 week, go see that guy, he will help you faster and with a better price and a big smile. Thank you bill. Thibaud and Anais, the rubbertramps from France
