All the food we had was delicious! From the coconut shrimp with homemade bang bang sauce to a local Montana sirloin steak that was flavorful, juicy and tender (no steak sauce needed - their steak sauce is homemade, it's tasty nothing like A1 or 57). The salad was different but good. Had "normal" house salad (homemade ranch) with a little kale and carrot salad on the side along with bean sprouts and peruvian peppers. When trying to decide what to have Yokie (owner) was very helpful and gave the best advice on what to have! All staff was very friendly and made it feel like a small town restaurant/bar I'd have back at home, which is exactly what I was looking for while visiting Montana.Almost forgot! The beer selection Must try the local craft beers. You will not be disappointed in the food or drinks.

Definitely worth the drive. The food was delicious and tantalizing. The service was superb. The orchids around the interior were blooming beautifully. We had 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, 3 sodas, 1 salad and 2 desserts for under $120. There is also a wonderful table dedicated to our service men and women. The pictures below are a portions of the Whiskey Beef noodles (not a 100% on that name), Coconut shrimp appetizer, and Sweet and Sour shrimp.

Stopped here on the way home from a ride to East Rosebud Lake. This place has a lot of history and the meld of Montana and Asian food is masterful. We had the Pot sticker for an app and French Dip for our lunch. It sounds basic but with a twist. I can t say enough about the French fries . Perhaps the best I have ever had! Seems out of the way in little Fishtail but well worth the detour.Oh! And the bread pudding? To die for!

MontAsia is a great little restaurant in Fishtail, MT. We arrived in late afternoon before the dinner crowd. They have a great beer list and interesting mixed drinks but we abstained. We started with an appetizer of Rojak which is a refreshing fruit salad with arugula, mango, green papaya and jicama. For our main course we had whiskey beef noodles and a yak smash burger. The noodle dish had great flavor and this was the best yak I've ever tasted! Ok, it was the first yak but really delicious and not too expensive. The yak was raised in Anaconda, Montana so that is a win for local supply. Their french fries were suspiciously delicious. Even though we filled a go box, we couldn't refuse dessert. The cheesecake with raspberry sauce was great. And the key lime tart was just as wonderful. The service was attentive but not intrusive, so ... perfect. We'll be back!

Another amazing meal at Montasia! I had the kung pao and it is too delicious to fully describe - intense spicy goodness that blows the taste buds away. My husband is not a spice guy and he loved his burger and fries. Something for everyone. Great service, terrific food. Highly recommend giving it a try, worth the drive to Fishtail.

Montasia is worth the drive to Fishtail, which is worth the drive in itself, thanks to the beautiful Beartooth-Absaroka Wilderness. The house made margaritas were awesome, and so was the kung pao tofu. Their desserts are all made on site. The atmosphere is old-school Montana bar, but the food is modern. Go support an amazing family doing amazing things in an amazing place.

Legitimate, authentic, and delicious. Friendly people from Malaysian sharing their.awesome food with Montana. I grew up in Montana and this kind of quality is rare here, and it reminds me of the food stands in Singapore for how excellent, tasty, and fresh it is. I will be stopping here on every trip to Cooke City!

Definitely an unexpected find in Cooke City. Montana/Malaysian fusion cuisine. My husband and I ordered the Bison Curry and Korean Bison Bowl and both were very flavorful, served fresh and hot. Portion wise, it's more than enough for a filling meal. If you're looking for something different while in Cooke City, definitely a must try.

Excellent food spot, I would rate it highly for the food it provides in this area, family owned restaurant it looks like, friendly services, food is very good, made to order fresh, they don't have table services mostly carryout but you can sit on a few tables onsite. They offer WiFi while you wait for your food.

This was a nice surprise. Normally I look up reviews on all restaurants we go to while on vacation but we were on our way back to our lodging after hiking Mystic Lake and we were so hungry we didn t care where we went and this came up so we stopped. I wasn t expecting the best and freshest tasting food the steak was amazing fries were perfectly crispy and the salad was the biggest side salad I ve seen. Plus very reasonably price for such high quality food and the drinks were great too.

Got the bison steak fries here. Large portion, delicious homemade mayonnaise!!! Loved it. Also got their flowerade drink. Definitely interesting but maybe too sweet. The coconut shake, however, was just right.

We only stayed across the street one night, but two random people - locals - recommended this place, unsolicited. Both said, "It's our favorite and we eat there all the time." I believe it could quickly become our favorite also. Kids had the pot-stickers, I had the chicken and rice, wife had some vegetarian dish, and we all loved our meals. Food was fast, and delivery was offered to us (we were at the Alpine, just across the street, so I declined delivery and just waited) and the meals were finished very quickly, about 10-15 minutes! I would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Asian food, or just any food! They had a few outside seats, but looked like it was mostly take-out.

This was delicious! I tried the kung pao and it was a very generous portion. The meal was very flavorful, the chicken was done perfectly, and the ingredients/rice/sauce ratio was spot on.

tldr: strongly advise calling and asking if it you are allowed to eat here without a reservation. It is a long way to the nearest alternative when they refuse to seat you. I would give zero stars if possible. We (party of 2) went here one Sunday in mid-September. It was around 6:30 pm, ~90 minutes before close. There were < 10 people there, most of whom were in the process of leaving. They asked if we had a reservation, even though neither their website nor their Facebook says anything about reservations, and said they could not seat us without one. Maybe they wanted to close early (in which case just put a sign on the door - we are closing early today ), maybe we were not locals and they didn t like how we looked . Anyway, we were never turned away in previous years when it was the Cowboy Bar, but we sure were by the people at MontAsia.Edit: to most of the reply, if you say so, but neither of us said a word to the hostess.

I wish I could rate MontAsia higher! There s nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. The service was super friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food such huge portions and the flavors are so delicious. The three of us had a burger, the curry and the noodles and we couldn t decide which was best. We ll be back!

A great revitalization of an old school Fishtail building. Minimally but tastefully decorated with enough soul of the old business left to be still recognizable. Cool old bar, pool tables, and a foosball table for entertainment.Delicious food with options from western and eastern cuisine (as you would expect based on the name) with great quality and portions for the price. Good drink selection as well.Highly recommend stopping by!Kid-friendliness: They have a separate kids menu with a handful of options.
