Thanks J4 for caring about your customers. We really appreciate how you're willing to communicate and work with us.. J4 is an honest, knowledgeable and clean shop. We've been taking our cars and trucks to them for almost 20 years. They recently had to completely remove our dash and take off the steering wheel to replace a part. See photos. No rattles and everything works!! Hard to believe after looking at the photos. Also J4 does lots of community service work in East Helena!

My husband passed away in November 2021. I was spoiled for a lot of years because my husband handled the taking care of the vehicles, and yes, I will admit when it comes to car maintenance and repairs, I am a hopeless cause. J4 Automotive has been absolutely amazing when it comes to helping me with car care since the first time, I brought in a vehicle to their repair shop after my husband died. Patient, caring, understanding, good sense of humor, and willing to go beyond what is needed to help make sure any vehicle I take to the shop is well taken care of, and I feel safe and comfortable driving the vehicle. I needed my antifreeze checked. I was in East Helena at a friends so I stopped in J4 Automotive. Chris went out to my car immediately and added some antifreeze. I asked him how much I owed, he said, nothing, it wasn t much that I added. I was sure appreciative of the service. Thank you

Wanting to support local East Helena businesses, we chose to have our son s overheating Jeep to J4. After being towed in on a Tuesday April 25, I it wasn t until the next week that we even got the first diagnosis back! It was then another 10 days before work was even begun on the car. We were told that due sickness in the shop and other repair jobs, that it would still be days until we got the car back. That extra delay required us to get a rental car. That wouldn t be so bad if we got a running car in return. However, after over $850 and 3 weeks, we ended up having to get the car towed out of J4 s lot yesterday (a full 14 days after we dropped it off) and towed back to our house. Being quoted a price of $3463 for repairs and only a well, that s the price with no mention of compensation for having the car for multiple weeks and a repair that got us no closer to having a working vehicle is disappointing. Sure things happen (sickness, other jobs) but to not take that into account in the final estimate or bill is disappointing. Seems like there were a lot of things that could have been offered (payment options, discount) but J4 seemed happy to take my $867 and watch a broken car be towed off their lot. We will get the repairs done, but unless J4 can make things right, it won t be there. Disappointing to say the least.EDIT: I am pleased to edit my initial review. First off, it is so refreshing to know that J4 took my review serious. Once they saw it, Chris reached out to me to try and make things right. J4 did everything they could to do the right thing. So often now, businessess just shrug off reviews and the customer never sees any follow up. We ended up working through the issues that we had. J4 apologized for letting us down and really went out of their way to make things right. I can 100% say that we will return to J4 for business because they care about their customers. This place was AWESOME! Honest, knowledgeable and affordable. We were passing through to get back to IA and Evan (we think that s his name) and the receptionist Erica were wonderful. A nice clean shop with seating while we waited. We cannot say enough about how great the staff is fixed our truck in a very timely manor! THANK YOU- Sherie & Eric

Worst experience I ever had. Told me on the phone, 2 weeks out, that they would fix one strut on my car. I show up for the appointment and they decide to tell me when I'm already scheduled to be there that they will have to fix both struts because once one is out, the other is on its way.. which is fine if the strut wasn't broke to begin with from hitting a massive pot hole... not from normal wear and tear on the vehicle.So basically they failed to tell me when I made the appointment that they would want to do both struts... instead they enlighten me when I'm already there with my car. Time is money and they wasted my time. Found another place that did just one for me.

Went in for a small issue related to my vehicle. The staff were great! Super friendly and got me in the same day I called. I m super appreciative of how kind they were. They discussed what they did and steps they took. I will be using them for any future issues or vehicle maintenance.

Professionals. Period . You want it done right the first time than just call J4.They care about your safety . They have proven to us again that we are a valued customer and that we can count on them. This is a straight up, no bs, honorable bunch of folks,that will have you falling in love with your car again.

Won t be using this place again .charged me $75 for them to say oh your car looks fine it doesn t need an alignment when they quoted me at $88 for the alignment alone.

Quick, honest, & affordable.The staff has been patient in answering any questions I might have and I feel comfortable leaving my vehicle in their competent hands. The lobby and grounds are nice if you'd like to wait while they work. During the pandemic they came to my home, picked up my truck, and returned it at no extra cost. Their work has been outstanding and everyone has been super nice! Gold stars!

Kit, Chris, and all the guys at J4 Automotive in East Helena did a great job! I dropped off our 06 Expedition that had been sitting for almost 2 years! I told them to go through the vehicle, front to back because we were going to give it to our daughter to drive for school. I told them that I wanted to make sure she would be safe while driving it! Kit, Chris, and the guys in the shop took that info to heart! They went through everything on the vehicle!! We got the vehicle back and it runs, sounds, and drives awesomely!! Better than it ever has, actually!! Thank You guys for a job well done!! My daughter also thanks you and appreciates you for the hard work and timely manner that the vehicle was done in!! I am giving J4 a five star rating because I don't intend to take my car anywhere else. They cheerfully give drop off/pick up service, and answer questions without being condescending. Everyone is courteous, even when they are swamped. Their prices are reasonable. I want quality service and I feel I paid for the quality service I received. Their prices are at a valuable middle of the road rate. Their work was thorough. In a lot of ways, my car has been running better than when I first bought it, used, several years ago.

After my first experience with J4 a couple of years ago, I am filled with trust and confidence that my truck gets the care that assures reliable operation and safety. Kit and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. They deliver what they promise, and at a competitive price - way better than the dealerships.

I grew up in a mechanic's household, so I've never had to seek out auto repairs before. But following the loss of my father, I needed to find a shop. J-4 is a great option. Very nice family owned place. Quotes are quick and fair. I opted to provide my own parts for the first job, which was not a problem. They also provide rides back to work and pick-ups, which is especially useful for busy people. Jobs are performed to quote and within estimated time.I advised them I would be looking to buy a newer car soon and Kit said to be sure and bring my prospective purchase for an inspection. I will definitely be using them again and recommending them to friends and family.

Fabulous people! I needed to get a pre-purchase inspection on a car that I was buying ASAP!! I was started to loose hope that any mechanic wasn't 2 weeks out but I called these guys and they were able to take me THAT DAY! They were so sweet and gave me a full 12 page print out all about this car that I was going to buy! If I lived in Helena, I would 100% use this mechanic and these guys, I so highly recommend them!

Not a customer yet! I read all the butt-hurt negative comments first to guage how a business really might be. And Kits pushback from all these unfounded cry-babies that try to smear a local business to their own end deserves 5 stars at least. The comments posted back tells me Kit stands by the work done, the people doing the work and the positive ethics associated with J4. See ya soon!

Wow! They were great. Kind, honest, no BS, great price. I wish I lived closer to Helena because I would take my car there every time I needed anything!My radiator cracked and left me on the side of the highway. Gena and Zack and crew had me back on the road within a matter of hours! It was incredible. Thank you guys for everything. - Karin

I moved to Helena four years ago and pulled into the driveway of J-4 and have been with them ever since. The customer service goes way beyond excellent. They want to help and always are very awesome to work with. J-4 is fair and honest. I recommend J-4 to everyone I know especially my female friends who were afraid of going to an automotive shop. I let them know "no need to worry"

I had all positive experiences at J4 automotive until recently. I was quoted $700 dollars for a front break job which after calling several other businesses in Helena I soon found was a giant rip off. I was also supposed to get tires here and my appointment needed to be rescheduled because they didn t come in yet, I came in for the rescheduled appointment only to find out they still didn t have my tires. I was supposed to hear from them once they got my tires but it s been weeks and I haven t heard from then since.Services: Tires, Brakes

** live the inspection reports, email and text detailed estimates.. nicely done, great feature that stands out from competitors. These guys care!Kit's crew all around are awesome! I had repairs done in Bozeman for my rack pinion steering, and because they were NAPA parts all my repairs were under warranty - J4 honored the work, labor and parts even tho work was done out of town - only 87 bucks for complete repair, and had it done by end of next day.Mind blown >BOOM!<I will return for further repairs needed for my two other cars. Sent some friends their way without hesitation or worry, I Highly recommend them!Thanks gang!Gena in reception - You are awesome too, I appreciate y'all!

J4 has the best customer service around. Always friendly and willing to work with your busy schedule. Provides a shuttle to and from work. Great people and they get stuff fixed too!

The customer service, quality, value, and cleanliness keeps up going back to J4 for approximately 12 years now. They are honest and explain every detail of the work they do. If you want to look at your vehicle or old parts they are always willing to show you. They want their customers satisfied. They can work on any vehicle, we think they are the best.

Our water pump went out on a trip and we were towed here. They helped us get to the airport to get a rental car and had our vehicle ready the next day! Truly awesome service, fair pricing and great communication! If we lived in Helena THIS would be our shop! Thanks again!

Very impressed! They were honest and clearly explained the issue with my car. I was very grateful for the ride to and from work while they trouble shooted the problem with my car. When we returned to Helena after chasing a career, we needed a good automotive shop to care for our aging vehicles. We were recommended J4 Automotive. We are very happy with the work, professionalism of staff and the knowledge of the business. We have learned the importance of going to one shop for all our vehicles' needs. These guys fix it right the first time. They are on the spendy side, but it's because you likely won't have to bring your car back again. They fixed my Mazda 9, which had an almost impossible fix to it. Smart, reliable, and determined.
