I am not a client of Muffler Alley and after getting the run around by many of the other exhaust places in the valley, Glen took the time to explain and thoroughly go over every detail about what may or may not be needed to be done to my vehicle. I was astounded by his professionalism and detailed information. After the phone call, I was left with more information I had to make the best decision for my vehicle. I will definitely use Muffler Alley in the future. Thanks Glen!

I was in Columbia Falls just for the weekend, but my little Tacoma decided it wanted to live there and decided not to start. I stopped by Muffler Alley first thing Monday morning, Glenn talked through some options with me and helped me sort out a tow. They had it diagnosed by the next afternoon and were really great at talking through options to get it fixed. I don t know a lot about vehicles, Glenn broke things down for me (including a detailed breakdown of costs), and even offered to talk directly to a mechanic friend of mine. The info my friend got was the same as Glenn had told me, I appreciate the transparency. There was good communication throughout and Muffler Alley had my fuel pump replaced and truck back on the road in a timely manner. Vehicle troubles are never fun, but Glenn and Muffler Alley made it all as painless as possible.

What a great find! Glenn is the most honest and inviting person I have met in a small town service shop! So honest when it came to repairing my brakes. Repaired what was needed and didn't make his salary on an out of towner! Great conversation as well! Gotta bring the kids to see his race car! Great shop that does honest work! Would give him 10

From the beginning phone call to finished services these guys were extremely professional and helpful. They got all the work that was needed done in a timely manner at an reasonable rate. They made sure to do a full check over to ensure my vehicle was safe and running great. They answered all my questions and made sure I understood everything that was needed. I would highly recommend to anyone needing an honest mechanic to give them a call. I won't use another shop again.Services: Exhaust, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

I have taking my rigs here for several years. I don't worry if I'm getting overcharged or that they are fixing something unnecessary. They are very helpful, honesty. They get me in and out fast. Glen Is the manager. Great guy. They work on everything not just mufflers. Five stars. I would go to them before the dealership.

Edit: I now have proof this mechanic flat-out lied to me. I took off the bumper to inspect the part he told me was "completely shattered" so I could replace it myself. It soon became VERY obvious he hadn't removed the bumper, which you have to to see the part. And the part he told me was "shattered" wasn't broken. A nearby hose had cracked instead.Original review:I m a woman. My experiences may or may not have anything to do with that. However, I think they will be useful for any prospective customers to know.PROS1. The mechanic did not attempt to upsell me on any unrelated services (although this might be because I firmly told him the services he asked about had been recently performed, because he did ask about unrelated things).2. The mechanic didn t break anything as far as I know3. The mechanic probably didn t charge me for anything he didn t fix. This includes not charging when I took my car in for his initial inspection. (However, he then charged over $100 for an "inspection" when he went it to fix the part a week later, so more likely this is a deferred cost for if you decide to go with him.)CONS1. The mechanic attempted to price gouge me. He said parts from Napa would cost double what they actually would (I looked it up) plus a high shipping rate (which would actually have been free). And eight times what I ended up buying it for.Similarly, either his hourly rate is insanely high (~$200/hour), or he quoted me more hours than the repair should have taken. (Note: on a previous visit, he had charged me fairly. I m not sure why he changed his mind about doing that.)2. He invariably called me by a shortened version of my name despite me always introducing myself by my full name.3. He didn t listen to me. I asked him to repair my AC unit, which was physically damaged. When I got the car back, he d told me your refrigerant was empty, so I put more in. It should work now. Obviously, it didn t.4. He charged me 10% more than his verbal quote and charged me >$100 for an inspection after saying the inspection was free. Make sure you get everything on paper!I won t go back. Nor do I recommend this place to others.

Recently moved to Montana and purchased a new car that needed extensive work. Glen and his guys were recommended highly by friends. I was thoroughly impressed with their attitude and honesty. The quality of work was excellent and I couldn't be happier. It's nice in this day and age to find honest people who still do excellent work. Thanks to Glen and his crew.

My family had a motor blow up in Columbia Falls while on vacation. Talk about feeling helpless. Muffler Alley was extremely busy, at least 30 other cars ahead of me to get repairs done. They said they would do a quick inspection to update me on what was wrong, but the repair would most likely not be done that day. Quick inspection showed the engine needed to be replaced. They helped with suggestions on finding a new car or rental to get home, parties that could possibly buy a vehicle that didn't have a working engine, and were great guys who treated me with respect and compassion.

My wife and I recently moved to the Flathead Valley and I ended up needing some major work done on my truck. Being we were new to the area, I asked around town was told Muffler Alley was the spot to go to so I gave them a shot! From diagnosing my problems quickly, to proactively communicating honest solutions with me - Glen and his crew were 5 star. I ve never had such a great experience with a shop from start to finish. Glen wears his values on his sleeve, and it s evident the shop does as well. This is what small business is about!

The guys at Muffler Alley are the best mechanics in the Flathead. My car was having issues about two months ago and at first I took my car into C-falls auto clinic. I work 4 weeks on in North Dakota so I gave them the green light while I was out of town. When I got back I found out they didn't even touch my car. I wasn't very happy about the situation so I decided to take my car over to the Muffler Alley. The guys there got right on it. They're straight to the point, honest, and hard working. Above all they put their costumers first. I highly recommend them.

Brought my 18 year old Impreza hatchback in for some exhaust work, with obvious leaks mid car. Undercarriage was quiet rattly, car smelled of potent exhaust when idling, and it never sounded right after tapping a boulder with the tailpipe while backing into it a few years back. Was hoping for a patch but wasn't surprised when Glenn said I needed a whole new muffler. Before I gave them the green light, Glen had already ordered in the parts and had them on hand, but said no obligation to do the install. Got the car back that same day and what a difference! Rattling and fume leaks were all gone, its sounded like new, and compression increased as the car seemed zippier. From time of my phone call for inspection appt to complete repair was maybe 72 hours. Very good service all around, I recommend MA. Thank you.Service: Exhaust

We experienced some car trouble while traveling through the park. We were recommended Muffler Alley and went in early the next day. They had a long line of cars ahead of us. After explaining we needed to be several hundred miles by the end of the day, they bumped us up, and had us back on the road in time to meet all of our deadlines. These guys are great. Friendly, perform great work and above all, fair.

Our family was on a road trip through Glacier NP when our car began to overheat continually. Our AAA tow truck driver recommended this place and we were sure glad he did! Glenn (the owner) was up front with us right away as to what he thought was wrong. No sugarcoating. His son helped us immediately with finding a rental car and John started diagnosing the issue right away (on a Friday afternoon). By Monday at noon our car was ready to go with a new thermostat (apparently we dodged a bullet!). They also helped us understand how to get our car home considering we had misjudged our vehicles towing capacity. We highly recommend Glenn and his crew. They run a first class operation.

Glen, Austin and the team at Muffler Alley are among the last of the real men. Today right before we left town I had an emergency repair needed to my tow behind. I had stopped at several other shops before driving by Muffler Alley. When I looked in I could tell these guys know what s up. Super busy but clean and organized.Glen put me right in even though they were busy. Austin made a repair that all the others said couldn t be done. When the bill came more than fair. I would have paid triple. This is the place. Thanks guys!

Thank goodness for Muffler Alley! I was leaving on a trip to Edmonton in less than 24 hours when my transmission line blew. When we were in the crew got me in as soon as possible and got me out the same day. Awesome service! Would recommend Muffler rally to all my friends two thumbs up :-)

Phenomenal staff, extraordinary prices, family friendly, caring, and passionate about their work. I had an exhaust pipe crack between my catalytic converters on my 03 Outback. I called the staff at Muffler Alley. By the time I arrived my exhaust had completely fallen off. To redo the exhaust only cost me $75. I m so impressed and will definitely be back!!!!!!!

Ran into some car problems driving the rough mountain roads in a car that wasn't built for them. Managed to get down to Columbia Falls and eventually found Muffler Alley. They were quick, polite, and the only place in town that could help out the same day. Great service!

The customer service was great. Glenn was very honest with me about my repair estimate. I like a mechanic to be straightforward. Brakes and struts are doing great. This is going to be my go to shop from now on. Quality repair and nice mannerism.
