I want to send a shout out to Kevin and his team for really saving my butt a couple days ago!! I had a cross-country breakdown while traveling for work, and I was fortunate that these guys queezed me in to an already full schedule. They got the parts we needed quickly, and managed to do a large repair (on a diesel engine no less) in one day's shift. Kevin was very knowledgeable, he answered my questions and explained everything clearly. The cost was very fair, and they got me back on the road just in time. If I lived closer, this would be my go-to repair shop. I highly recommend it!Thanks again guys!

We re out-of-towners who got stopped with some brake trouble and Kevin at Car Tune was our savior!!! We were on a cross-country drive on a tight schedule and Kevin was able to take us same day so we were able to get back on the road soon. Very honest and accommodating; excellent service. So glad this was where we chose to stop for help. Highly recommend!Services: Tires, Brakes

If anyone is looking for a great radiator shop Car Tune of Butte was amazing. Pretty sure they do other car repairs too. A deer done some damage to my radiator so we called this morning and got the pickup in around 1:00 pm. The radiator was replaced and the pickup was out by 3:30pm. Kevin the owner and Jasmine in the office were absolutely wonderful! Their team did an amazingly quick replacement. With the very sub par customer service these days, it was refreshing to deal with some wonderful customer service people . It restored some faith that owners of company's and their staff remember what great customer service means. Thank you Kevin and your team!!! Also, we had lunch at the Montana Club in Butte and had excellent service there too. I did not catch the server's name but she was wonderful !

I was traveling from Utah back to Montana for the Holidays and on the way up, my alternator started going out about 10 miles from Butte. I was able to get it to Butte and these guys were the first mechanics that seemed to have a good rating on google. So I milked the truck here and they were so amazing! I took it in and explained my situation. They immediately took my truck back and tested my alternator and battery. They had an alternator in stock and a battery for me and they got it done within a short amount of time and got me on my way back home before 5!! I cannot say enough good things about them. Super caring and really understood mechanics and were very honest and reasonably priced. They were friendly and hard-working. Definitely, 10 out of 10 recommend it.

I took a chance on this business when My brakes didn't last as long as my round trip road trip from North Idaho to Texas and back. We had a wonderful experience! Kevin and Jasmine and Brandon (?) were amazing!! I HIGHLY recommend this business!

Needed the rack and pinion replaced on my truck. After calling around everyone was booked for weeks and the dealership was backed up for over a month. Kevin, at car tunes, got me in next day (a day earlier than he said he could) and had the truck fixed in a few hours at less than what he quoted me. Definitely would recommend and will use again for repairs.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

They went above and beyond for us on my sons truck for air conditioning, my son and his family see headed to Southern Cali. With kids. The air conditioning will make the trip a lot more comfortable. Thanks again

I dropped my car off there with a intermittent starting issue. Got a call that the car wouldn't start( why do you think i dropped it off?), gave me a run around about how they can't do nothing with it because it was cold. I Tried talking about setting up another time to drop it off and they had no interest in it. Mind you I got the car started to drive it in. and got it started again to drive it home. Waste of my time. And they couldn't even charge my battery that they drained trying to start it. Place is a joke.

I first started going to Car Tune in 2004 and have only once gone to another mechanic, to my huge regret. Guy and Kevin are trustworthy experts on foreign and domestic cars. They are quick and affordable, and funny and kind - easy to talk to about car issues. I am more than happy to recommend them to my friends and colleagues. Keep up the incredibly good work, dudes!

Our 1990 VW diesel Vanagon would not start during a cross country road trip. Kevin worked us into his schedule on a Monday. He quickly diagnosed our starter was wearing out but use of our block heater would reduce starter wear. Since it would take awhile to get the part, he advised us on how to best make it home. We were thankful for his quick and professional help.

We had an issue with the skid guard on our van as we were driving through Butte. We stopped in at Car Tune and they immediately had our car in the air. Not only did they fix it in about 2 minutes, but they didn t charge us! We sat and played with their pup while we got to know Kevin and the gang. Such a great shop! Such great operators! Butte is lucky to have Car Tune!

Don't Go Here.....<--. I blew my head gasket in my 2004 Volkswagen Passat. Paid them in full to make all necessary repairs so I didn't have another issue like that. 8 1/2 months and 5,000 + later. I finally got my car returned and it seemed to be running fine except for my check engine light was on.The owner told me for the amount of $ n time I waited he warranty him work for a year. I had to bring it back multiple times for them to fix, adjust, order parts n try to figure out why my check engine light was on. I was told it was completely fine to continue driving in the meantime. I drove it only in town. Work,School to the store and had it serviced when it was due.7 months late my car blew its head gasket n engine seazed exactly the same as the first time. Had it towed to car tunes where they refused to warranty me on Anything n pretended like they couldn't remember what issues my car had and claimed they had a new computer system so they couldn't give a detailed report as to what work they did. I brought it to a different place and they confirmed they half assed n didn't replace things they should of the first time. I'm a single mom of 2 girls and busted my ass for that car. It was the first nice vehicle I ever owned and ended up being taken advantage of and had to scrap my car.... :'(

While traveling through Montana I had some car trouble. After reading the positive reviews, my boyfriend and I called Car Tune. Although it was late in the day (nearly closing time when we got there), Kevin told us we could bring the car by and that he would look at it. He diagnosed the problem right away, my fuel pump had died, and talked to me about my options.Luckily, they were able to get the part delivered for the next morning and fixed my car right away. I got an estimate before any of the work was done and knew exactly what to expect. My car was finished before noon the next day and I was able to get back on the road.Car-Tune is great. The staff was friendly, quick and honest. I highly recommend them.

I really wanted this to be a good experience, but the owner Kevin took the chance to screw us as people getting our car repaired as out of towners. So would recommend going elsewhere for repairs, especially if you are from out of town.Kevin's team performed a Wheel Hub Assembly repair on our car and was pleasant to work with at the time. However, it turns out his team installed it incorrectly (overtightening the screws, it happens) resulting in the parts breaking a few thousand miles later when we returned home (out of state).When trying to work the warranty it was clear that Kevin had zero incentive or desire to work to make the warranty claim work. When it broke, I called Kevin asking how to use the warranty, and he said another shop needs to evidence it was the part he repaired as broken and nothing else, so I did. Then I had the car repaired as the other shop wouldn't let me leave due to the nature of the issue. When I told Kevin the other shop had to start work, he turned quite sour because it involved extra paperwork on his end. After following up several times with emails and phone calls, eventually Kevin said the warranty company required me to send the broken part to claim the warranty. When asked to evidence this requirement Kevin refused and after researching the warranty company, this is not something written in their claim requirement, and lastly this practice is not common as no part shop keeps the old broken parts it repairs. This was a clearly a way to just avoid taking the time/effort for the paperwork since we are out of staters and have no other recourse.In short, Kevin, as much as I wanted to like the guy, took an opportunity to be above board and operate with some ethics and instead decided to just lean on the fact that we are out of staters and can just tell us to go pound sand.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I've known Kevin for years. He is extremely knowledgeable and meticulous. He's taken care of my cars for over 20 years now and I've always been very happy with his work and prices. I would easily recommend him for anything from an oil change ( He does fantastic inspections with an oil change!) to a major overhaul. I can't believe the negative reviews as he has always made sure my (and my families) cars are in top shape.

I was traveling from Utah, with my three young children to visit my parents in Great Falls. 15 miles outside of Butte, my serpentine belt snapped, dislodging the power steering hose. I called Car Tune just after 5pm and was told I could bring the car into the repair shop immediately. They were kind and professional, located a new belt, performed the work quickly, and it was all done after the repair shop was supposed to be closed for the day. The price was also very reasonable. I was incredibly impressed and grateful for their hard work and integrity.

I have never had a more pleasant and personable experience during a car emergency than these guys. They went above and beyond in all regards while working with me.My engine fell apart on the drive into Butte and they were able to have a look immediately. They helped me navigate the absolute nightmare of a totaled engine. I cannot express enough how much it means to me to have honest, forthright, straight-shooting mechanics to work with.Kevin is the man! If I could give this shop 10/5 stars, I would! I'm inclined to drive across the country just to have this crew of outstanding human beings look at my car.

On a Monday, we were driving to Glacier when our engine went kaput. We got towed in to Car Tune and discussed options. We decided to rent a car from Leskover Honda and continue on our trip. Kevin ordered an engine while we were there and hoped it would come in time. By the time we came back on Thursday afternoon, they had ordered the engine, recieved it, put in the best part of both engines together, and fixed a few other things that were worn down. We could not believe they had worked so fast and had it done in just a couple days. They were busy and had a lot of cars and customers to handle, so we know they put extra priority to get our car fixed in time for us to get back on the road and get home. I would recommend them to anyone!!

I would reccomend this place over anything else in Butte. Amazing service. I was at the midpoint of a cross country road trip, hit a bump and ripped up part of the bottom of my car. Car Tune happened to be the closest place I could find, but I'm beyond happy I pulled up there. Everyone in the office was extremely kind, and they immediately pulled my car back to begin working on it. They have sweetest dog who promptly leaned into my legs and didnt leave. It was seriously needed therapy. After about 5 minutes, my car was fixed and they told me no charge! Endlessly grateful.

Kevin is a gem of a mechanic. We got stranded in the middle of a cross-country road trip due to a bad alternator, and he not only agreed to look at our van right away, but also had the part ordered, installed, and had us back on our way in under two hours. Wonderful to work with. He runs a very straight forward honest business. Could not recommend more highly.

When my car broke down on I-15 north of Butte, I asked the tow truck driver to take my car to Car Tune. It was after hours when we finally arrived there. They had a drop box for car keys so I left my keys in the box. I called Car Tune the next morning and explained what happened to the car. The folks at Car Tune got right on it. Later, they called me with the details of what needed to be done and an estimate of what it would cost. I gave them the go-ahead to order the necessary parts and get the work done. When it was finished, Car Tune called me and let me know that the car was ready to go, and what the final bill came to. It was about $800.00 under the estimate! I was extremely happy with this news! I heartily recommend Car Tune to anyone who needs repair work on their vehicles!!

Kevin was amazing. We were cruising through the state of Montana this summer when our car started to make a loud noise. We were referred to Car Tune Auto and they went out of their way to help us get back on the road. They were short-staffed and busy but they still fit us in. Great people who you can trust. I would have no problem recommending them for all your automotive needs

My 2006 Murcery Mariner threw a bearing requiring the engine to be replaced. Not only were they $2000 cheaper than the other quotes I had received, the "new engine" I first received had something wrong with it that the experienced staff noticed on the test drive. They were not satisfied with the engine they had received and sent it back to the manufacturer to ensure customer satisfaction. The engine I now have in my car is flawless. Thanks to their honesty and experienced mechanics, I can travel without worry knowing that I received quality for my dollar spent. Best mechanic shop in town!

I had a great experience with Car Tunes. While driving my Audi A4 from Coeur d'Alene back home to Scottsdale, AZ, (on a Friday before 4th of July weekend) I had an oil pressure light coming on about 50 miles from Butte. I had the car towed to Car Tunes. Kevin was able to move things around on his packed schedule to make room for me. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it in about 3 hours. He charged me a very reasonable price and had me back on the road. I highly recommend him and his team for car service. Thanks Kevin!

We found Car Tune online and I called them to look at a used car that I was thinking about buying- Kevin looked it over and spent a lot of time reviewing the car. He is extremely knowledgeable, honest and meticulous. Their prices are extremely fair and I feel like this is an amazing establishment! We will be bringing our cars over from Missoula so that he can work on them this place is that good!

I've been a customer of Car Tune for three years. I have a Jaguar, a BMW and a Dodge truck. These guys are professionals. They are always honest and fair. They really understand modern foreign cars. And if they don't know the answer, they will find out. I trust them with my car more than I do the Jaguar or BMW dealers, who will rip you off. They always get me in right away and get my vehicles fixed correctly at a reasonable price. Car Tune has my vehicles on a routine preventative maintenance plan, and always give me good advice on caring for my vehicles. You just cannot go wrong taking your vehicle to Car Tune.

On my way from Oregon to Minnesota, my car's check engine light came on. I did all I could to find a problem, but I could not find anything wrong, so I began searching for a repair shop along I-90 in Montana. After calling several, I finally found one that said they would take a look at it. All of the other places I called said they were booked out several days. Kevin gave me directions to the shop, and as soon as I showed up, there was a mechanic looking at my car. Car Tunes' shop was full, but they made time for at least looking at mine. All I had was a plugged mass air sensor. In less than 20 minutes, the mechanic was out for a test drive, and before I knew it, i was back on the road. Great people. Thank you to Car Tune Automotive.
