I am so grateful for Cara and Charles and the entire team at Jim &Tracy s! I was in a bind and when I finally got connected with Cara, I was in tears. 5 mechanics and about 30 phone calls of folks giving me the runaround. I thought I needed thousands of $ s of parts, according to the other mechanics, and Charles fixed it with an alignment! Even gave me some suggestions on what I need to replace in the near future. Everything was so organized and efficient. Every single employee was super friendly and knowledgeable. They are dog friendly and allowed my two dogs to wait inside. They could have loaded me up with parts I didn t need and I would have found a way. But they didn t! Absolutely recommend to all my friends and family! Thanks you guys!

I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to.fit me into their schedule but when I went to pick up the car...the bill was insane!! I needed the front struts replaced and I supplied the struts. They charged me 4 hours to replace them. I am an ex mechanic and I know "book" pricing and it is normally double of how long it realistically takes to do anything. They charged me $600 to replace two struts...it takes and hour to an hour and a half max to do that job. They charged me $150 x4 hours. I will never go back there again.

It is unfortunate that I figured out the full extent of the incompetence of this after the time period I could dispute the charges on my card. I had them replace my ball joint and track arm bushings after picking up my truck found that the steering wheel was way off from where it had been when I brought it in and it didn t track like I did when I brought it in with bad track arm bushings and ball joints and it had a weird noise that wasn t there before . They fixed it, it was tire out of balance . I drove it again and although it was better was still not as good as when I originally brought it in with bad items. I took it back and one more time they fixed it. Nope still off, I took it back again. Got it back with the everything is fine. Annoyed at this point that it was still not riding and tracking like it was with the bad bushing and ball joints I decided to not take it back cause at this point 3 times they couldn t figure it out. I decided to replace the wheel bearings and found all four bolts only hand tight. Months later they messed up my friend s van and I was like yeah my truck is still not the same as when I took it in. Fast forward a year later I go for new tires hoping that I is the issue and ask the shop (a different shop) to give everything underneath a good once over when I pick up my truck asked if they found anything. They said yes both track bars where only finger tight this was loose as well and here is how far off your alignment was we took care of it. After 100 miles everything is so much better and I probably could have got many more miles out of my tires but none the less jim & Tracy sent me home from there shop on 3 occasions with finger tight bolts on my hub assembly and many other only finger tight bolts on my lifted ram 2500. I am so lucky that noting bad happened but there was plenty that could have gone wrong after leaving this shop. It could have been my life or yours or one your family s. I would recommend nobody let anyone from this shop touch your vehicle I know I m not the only one with this experience.

Purchased my own struts and needed them replaced ASAP as I need to travel out of town tomorrow and the mechanic I regularly use is sick. After all was said and done, the cost to replace the struts USING THE PARTS I ALREADY PURCHASED AND SUPPLIED was over $600 plus 3% fee to use a credit card. No estimate. No "Hey, this will be the cost. Is that OK?" Just replaced them. I was shocked at the cost. I will never go back to this place again.

Had an intake leak in my 2013 Chevy. Made an apointment and showed up at the scheduled time. I sat in the waiting room for about an hour and a half. I got up to see how they were doing, and my Chevy was still sitting in the same spot. I was like really, then the lady at the counter said your truck is repaired. I was very impressed at the swiftness of the repair and recommend this repair shop to anybody

Asked them to give me a quote on suspension. They said my front end needed done so I made an appointment and asked the lady if they were supposed to do the back, she said they would have looked at both.Had them do my transmission flush while they had the car. They called and asked to replace the control arms with no extra labor charge and I agreed, but they never offered to change rubber mounts with struts. They over charged me by $160, this does not include the parts of the transmission flush which was a waste of money.Got my car back and it was shaking really bad on the right side so I took it in and they said my front axles were bad, even though I wasn t having that issue before taking my car in. Mind you I told them I was planning on taking my car to Salt Lake City and wanted to know it was safe before even making the first appointment.Took it to Browns and paid for them for a second opinion. They did not properly clean the transmission fluid it s all still dark so I wasted my money on this. When I called to give them a chance to make it right the shop manager Cara was the most rude person I ve ever dealt with in customer service, and didn t feel comfortable taking my car back there after trying push to make an appointment with her. Also the mechanics are clearly incompetent. I asked for a refund and was told I d get a call back and it s been 2 weeks now with no call.As far as the shaking on my vehicle which the mechanics here were too dumb to figure out, the 3 times they looked at my car the whole rear needs replaced the axles are buckling and the control arms are broken. Mind you I was not having severe shaking with my vehicle before bringing it in. Even after asking them to make sure my car was safe to drive several times they couldn t see this? Will not return and will be sharing this experience with as many people as I can. Horrible shop and even worse manager. The lady that answers the phone was about the only pleased experience I had hear, she was kind and patient. Which was appreciated.

Awesome staff! Very helpful from the beginning of our communication. Before contacting Jim & Tracy s I went to Midas for an oil change where they told me my control arms were shot and that I shouldn t even be driving. I was desperate to find a second opinion as I was about to leave and haul a heavy load 900 miles. I have a suspension lift kit previously installed by a shop and was concerned because I would need to custom order those parts. Jim & Tracy s not only fit me in last minute but told me that the truck was squared away. I would definitely recommend this shop! They could ve told me the same thing as Midas but instead they were honest. Thanks again!

I brought my 16' Tahoe (108k miles) in to get an alignment. After waiting 20 minutes they call me to the counter to tell me they are not able to do it and gave me an estimate of over 2500$ to do ball joints, control arms and tie rod ends. After leaving, I brought it to my normal mechanic. They inspected it and said nothing was wrong and Jim and Tracys has a reputation of doing this. I brought it over to another alignment shop and they did the work and said that Jim and Tracys has a reputation of doing this. I called Jim and Tracys to explain what happened and they just said they are very picky and sorry.....wasted a half a day trying to do business with them.

Yesterday while leaving the KOA just down the road from this business. I heard a loud grinding from the front drivers side wheel on my motor home. I was sure it was gonna be a pricey wheel bearing repair. But the mechanics at Jim & Tracy's found a stone jammed in the brake shield housing. Out the door for only the cost of the hour labor. And they got me in the same day. Stellar service and honest work. There are still honest people in this world. Way to go Jim & Tracy'sService: General repairs & maintenance

BILLINGS BEWARE: I m no stranger to the challenges of being a business owner and no one is perfect. However, if you value your LIFE or your money, DO NOT take your vehicle to Jim & Tracy s in Billings, MT. My co-workers and I are lucky to be alive and unfortunately out an extra $1,000 over the $5,000+ they charged to send us down the road in a deadly situation. I m all for supporting the small guy, the local guy, but many lies and a dangerous trip later; Jim & Tracy s is the last place you want to take your vehicle. After some research, I m not the only one that has been sent down the road in a vehicle with near deadly consequences. If you read into Jim & Tracy s replies/rebuttals to these negative experiences you ll find a repeated claim They re sorry, they re not perfect, and we offered to fix it(after you pay tow it back or continue to risk your life driving it). After giving them ample opportunities to fix it right, finding someone else to fix it, seeing the numerous safety issues that almost cost us our lives, and getting no apology and a check for $175... KEEP YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY SAFE. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO JIM & TRACY'S!!!

I brought a pickup here for an alignment after replacing my tie rods, I got a call back an hour later telling me that they couldn't align it because the drivers side upper and lower ball joints were worn out. Which is very interesting considering I had replaced all 4 ball joints along with all wheel bearings within 1,000 miles ago. When I went back to get my pickup I was provided an estimate of what they wanted to replace 2 ball joints and a center link...I almost had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I saw the price, and I've provided a pic of the estimate so you can see how ridiculous it is. They want over $1200 to replace 2 ball joints and a center link. Mind you, a fair shop could replace all suspension components on this pickup for this price.Outrageous price and wasted time aside, the most shameful part of this experience was the fact that these crooks tried to sell me work that absolutely did not need to be done, and I want to make any potential customer aware of this.Oh, and I waited the day they were booked out to take my pickup to my usual shop, and they had it aligned to spec in an hour.

Making my way home after spending the summer in Alaska and my RV brakes started to make a rubbing sound. I stopped by Monday morning to see if they could take a look and they scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. Dropped the RV off and was told all brakes needed repair and it probably wouldn t be ready until Wednesday. I was happily surprised Tuesday afternoon with a call letting me know the RV was ready for me to pick up. They put 2 technicians on it and got it done . This place is the best!

Went in for an alignment explaining I really only needed the camber set. My truck tracked and drove fine. They took my truck in 15 minutes after I got there. Came and got me 45 minutes later after that to tell me they didn't align it because it needed parts. Wouldn't touch it unless I replaced things. Presented me with a $1300 estimate. I left there with no alignment. Another local shop was able to squeeze me in, align my truck and send me on my way citing nothing wrong with my parts. Staff was nice but I probably won't be back.Service: Steering & suspension repair

People were friendly and professional. We had brake problems while traveling through Montana in our motorhome. Called Jim & Tracy's and had appointment next morning. The job took more than one day and they set us up in our motorhome hooked up to their electricity for the night.Brakes were repaired next morning and we were back on the road by noon.Reasonable prices and Top Notch service.

On January 28, 2022 Jim and Tracy s Alignment replaced on my Toyota 4 Runner the rear shocks, the front strut assembly, the upper control arms with ball joints and lower ball joints, and completed a front end alignment. On March 13, 2022 while driving my Toyota I made a slow turn and my front driver side wheel made an abnormal sound. I put the vehicle in park and observed the wheel and tire. It was tilted severely at the incorrect angle. The vehicle was not drivable. I had it towed back to Jim and Tracy s. It was determined that Jim and Tracy s did not tighten the nut holding the bolt of the upper control arm. The nut had fallen off and the bolt had backed off 3 inches, thus the tilted angle of the tire. They also neglected to tighten the nut on the passenger side upper control arm. That bolt had backed out 1.5 inches from the assembly. After the tow, they replaced the bolts and missing nuts (they welded the nuts onto the bolts) and did a front-end alignment. They did not charge for this work after the tow and they paid for my tow. I wanted to verify that the corrective work they had done was complete and safe. I took my vehicle to another mechanic. Upon inspection the alignment caster and camber were off, and the rear passenger shock was loose. On April 4, 2022 I asked to be reimbursed for the alignment I had done at a different shop. The shop foreman denied reimbursement.Significant errors were made on my vehicle. These types of errors could have caused severe injury to myself and my family if this had occurred when driving down the highway. Not to mention the extensive damage to my vehicle and possibly other vehicles on the road. We put our trust in mechanics to do work that keeps us safe on the road. I spoke with Jim the owner after the incident. He said With the economy being the way it is I push my guys hard. And sometimes human errors occur. I told him These errors put my family at risk and for that reason I have zero confidence in your business. I will never be back. Really, is it ethical to push your employees hard, and put your customers at risk, just to line your own pockets?Service: Steering & suspension repair

We were on vacation heading to Washington State. We were driving our class C towing a Jeep. We heard a strange noise some miles back that kept getting worse. It was Sunday afternoon, so we knew we wouldn t be able to get into a shop till Monday. My wife began searching the web for something in the next main city. Lucky us to have found Jim and Tracy s Alignment. We were at their door when they opened. Even though they were short staffed that day, they took us right in to checkout the problem. Two carrier bearings and 4 u-joints later we were back on the road.We had a lovely wait with our Great Pyrenees, who happily ate yummy dog treats they gave her.Two weeks later we had to make a stop at Jim and Tracy s to have a defected bearing replaced. The staff was welcoming and in a little while we were ready to head home to Indiana. We recommend this business very highly. If you are in the Billings, MT area and need service or tires for your vehicle, call Jim and Tracy s.

Took my trailer in for a bent axle and tow plate. I put 1000 dollars down to order parts then insurance picked it up so naturally i expected a return of a thousand from them once fixed. Wrong! They found a way to eat up that thousand without calling me or putting in a bill to insurance then expected me to pay it. the origonal estimate was 3500 bucks. I have a 250 deductible and was presented with a 4500 dollar bill and when i refused to pay they wouldnt release my trailer. Ariel told me personally that she forgot to submit the extra misterious work to my insurance. It's funny because they charged 400 dollars to go though the insurance process on their end because they had to snap a few photos and send an email...this company was recommended but I wouldn't recommend them for anything. I had to call my insurance and even they thought this was very sneaky. Will be sure to spread the word about Jim and tracys.

I got an alignment on 06/07/2023. My car has gone out of alignment and when I looked under the vehicle the mechanic didn't even tighten the lock nut on the tie rod. Now I have to get another alignment because of this. Not coming back to you again!Service: Steering & suspension repairService: Steering & suspension repair

If I could give 0 stars I would, they had my truck for almost 7 months never got fixed. Horrible customer service from all of the office ladies (found out after the fact, that s because there daughters of the owners) when we picked it up to finally take to laurel Ford, the battery was completely dead and had to be jumped to get onto the trailer and jumped again to get it off. Also the service guys left an old oil pan on my bed cover leaving a permanent stain. I called after we left asking for the owner and mangers name and phone number and was told I can t have that because that s personal information. The worst business I have ever been involved with, never apologized or tried to make it right.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I m so impressed with these guys... we were on a road trip two weeks ago in our RV and we had a problem... they were willing to see us within 2 hours... then having Levi ask his Tech Randy to come out and look at our rig! He crawls under our RV... checks out a number of things to confirm we are good to go... I cannot believe the service level of this organization! Outstanding! Amazing! Impressive! If I lived local... this is the only place I would bring my rig for any work! I cannot say enough about these guys... wow!

I took my vehicle in for a lube, oil, filter and the ac system checked for leaks. When I got the vehicle back the heater, defroster, temperature and fan settings were in the same positions as when I dropped it off, none in any ac positions. After getting home I checked under the vehicle looking for oil leaks that I was told were needing repair. I noticed that none of the grease fittings had been greased. Seeing it had not been greased, I was not convinced that the ac had been checked for leaks. I took it to a different repair shop to have the ac system diagnosed. No traces of leak detection dye having been used were noticed.

My husband and I are so THANKFUL that Jim and Tracy's was in our path of travel when we ran into leaf spring problems with our 32' travel trailer. We had noticed that our camper was starting to sit lower on one side and, sure enough, when they checked it out one of the bushings on the drivers side of the camper was incredibly loose and the leaf springs didn't look so hot either. This meant basically a whole new suspension for our 2011 travel trailer. I can not thank them enough for getting us in as quickly as they did and getting us back on our way to our next job site as we were in a bit of a time crunch. Diana, Jessie, and Aaron are wonderful people and treated us like they had known us for years. If anyone I know is going to be in the Billings area Jim and Tracy's is the first business I will recommend! (even if they don't need work done, haha) Thanks again Diana, Jessie, and Aaron; you are the best!
