Had an exceptional experience at Black Ice Automotive. I worked directly with Chaz Angel, who did an outstanding job replacing the clutch on my Jeep Patriot. It was evident that he devoted significant time to diagnose the issue accurately. His commitment to the repair work surpasses most mechanic shops I ve dealt with. Throughout the entire process, Chaz ensured excellent communication, making the experience seamless. He is not only trustworthy but also the best mechanic I ve had the pleasure to work with. I look forward to working with him on other projects soon! Highly recommend!

Black Ice Auto is our go to guy with all our mechanical needs. Chaz has done work on several of our vehicles and of our relatives as well. All the different kind of vehicles and different mechanical issues have been handled in a timely manner at a very reasonable price and with great results. This shop is professional and friendly. He goes above and beyond for you his customer. You wont be disappointed if you use his service.

Chaz is great to deal with. If anything has ever come up in his inspections he s always prompt to communicate the best route to take and gives alternatives if necessary. He s a great mechanic that we take all our personal and work vehicles too. Highly recommend!

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic. I would have thought a mechanic would finish examining a car before repairing stuff. I had asked for a full evaluation of my car since it has not been in the shop for some time. Let's be honest, I couldn't afford to take it to a shop for a while. I brought it to Chaz to examine and determine what all needs to be worked on to get my car back in good standing. He did plug in the computer to find out what codes the car was throwing, but did not have a lift available to look at it and did not offer to drive it when I told him there was a rattling that got worse when I hit bumps. He asked if I had a ride home or not and if I could leave it there for a bit. I told him I did not mind waiting. After almost 2 hours of him boasting about how awesome of a mechanic he is and how much money he has gotten from working on an acquaintances car, we made the plan to bring it back the next week when he had time in his schedule do repairs. I figured at that point he would drive it and look at it before doing the repairs agreed upon in case there was anymore. Instead, he did over $1,500 worth of work and then told me I needed to do another $4,000 work of work and it was not safe to drive. Once asked why he wouldn't tell me about the other issues( all suspension related) when looking at the sway bar links, his response was this story about a Honda pilot he was working on that threw a code for pistons, but once he replaced those, more issues popped up at a later date, and the owner has spent $3800 chasing those problems. To me and to other local mechanics, if the sway bar links are bad, which is part of the suspension, and there is rattling when hitting a bump, the rest of the suspension should have been checked. I'm not sure why he thought it would be ok to not finish examining my car to give me all the knowledge I should have gotten before deciding to spend the money to fix versus looking at getting a new car. In an email, he told me it is my fault and I need to take responsibility for not taking care of my car. So if you would like an actual full diagnostic exam and good communication where you do not feel like you were taken advantage of, I would recommend not coming here.

Chaz is very knowledgeable and professional. He will take the time with you to make sure you have a clear understanding of what your issue is & next steps to resolve it. Chaz is an amazing mechanic and a great person. He quickly found the issue with my radiator and was able to fit me in quickly so I could go back to work. He's extremely friendly and professional and the shop pup is just too adorable. I have a 19 year old Cadillac Escalade I was just about ready to give up on. She still ran good but the ABS system wasn't working properly. After an unsuccessful repair job at a big name GM auto repair shop I was becoming very depressed. So, I gave Chaz a call and now I'm sure glad I did. He took time to listen to me describe my issues and concerns, tool a test drive with me get a feel of my drive. He's a miracle worker! Now we are developing a maintenance plan to keep my rig running for the long term. I'd highly recommend Chaz over a big name repair shop any day!

Chaz is Awesome! He has a big heart but is professional and works hard to figure out what is wrong with your car. He does not take advantage of his customers like many other mechanics. I will be a customer till the end! Thanks Chaz!

Chaz is a professional and helps you understand everything that is happening with your car. He is there to help you get back on the road. This location has re-opened and it was truly a God-send! I broke down 50 miles outside Billings, MT on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm. Just me, a grandma, a 10 week old puppy and a trio of turtles belonging to my grandkids. We were in route from Fargo, ND to Seattle, WA, when we broke down,Uhaul trailer and all! If it hadn't been for Chazworking on the weekends, we would have been stranded for who knows how long!! He swooped into action taking such great care of us! Even when the news wasn't good, he did all he could to soften the blow financially, even at his own expense! Honest, and caring, how often do you find that in an auto care professional?? I'd give more stars if I could!!

Well... I took my F-150 into Chaz at Black Ice Automotive because I had a terrible misfire and was getting very poor milage. Chaz knew exactly what the issue was and exactly what parts to get. Chaz even worked after normal business hours to help me out before my trip to Denver. My truck left running like new and I gained over 2 mpg more!! Upmost professional overall experience. He earned a customer for life.

I had Black Ice remove and replace an engine in my Mazda and am so satisfied. Plus Chaz told me every part that might need something in the future and fixed things that might have been missed by someone else. Highly recommended!!

Broke down at 4pm driving through Billings. The tow truck driver recommended him. He diagnosed the fuel pump over the phone and had called to verify the pars store had one in stock. Took him about 1 minute to confirm it was the fuel pump once the tow truck dropped off my car. He stayed late to make sure I was able to get back on the road that night. My 2013 vw Routan stopped working and we had no clue what was wrong. Took it in and he found out what was wrong and got back to us fast. Even with a part that was on back order. The top on my 911 Porsche quit going down I called Chaz he had me bring it in on the same day and had it fixed and working perfectly by the end of the day he also took some time to check my brakes clutch and other engine lines to make sure nothing was leaking or of any concern and then picked up my Porsche and dropped my Flex off he did the same thing for my everyday car replacing my brakes same day two cars repaired in 2 days is very thorough explains everything clearly and I would recommend him to anyoneService: Auto engine diagnostic

Where to start. I was at Underriner Honda on saturday 10-5-2019 Getting an oil change done when Shawn with Underriner told me that I had stripped the oil pan plug and that it would be $700 to replace the oil pan not including labor. Sean said that the oil pan plug wouldn t even stay in the oil pan and I didn t see the car inside the bay so I asked him how they got it out of the service department and he said that they had to push it out. I then told him that the last time that I did a Oil change in Williston North Dakota in May the oil pan plug went in fine and i ve been driving it for five months and I haven t lost any oil so how was I the one that stripped the oil plug? Suddenly the car was sitting out front of the building and I asked him how did the car get to the front of the building and at that time I took it over to black ice automotive where Chaz was an absolute trooper putting a self tapping oil pan plug into the oil pan. This costed me a 10th of what Honda was going to charge me for just the oil pan and I will most definitely take everything that I m thinking about buying or needs serviced to Chaz.

Yep love this shop... My pickup got in and worked on . Was told how much for repairs and labor... No more $amount then that...I knew ahead of time what the costs where....I knew what I could fix and what he could fix from his evaluation... Thanks a bunch.
