Was referred here from a dealer and wished I had known about them sooner. Staff was professional and easy to talk to. They took care of my vehicles issues quickly and made sure I was back on the road safely. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of having their vehicle taken care of. Thanks for your kindness and professionalism.

I had my 1967 Mustang Base in for repairs, the motor was a 302 with the 347 stroker kit which was assembled by the gentleman who owned the car before I did. It ran great until the engine started to consume large quantities of oil (1 quart per 8~ miles) where I decided to limp it back home while making blue smoke clouds out the rear end of it.I am part of the local car community here in Bozeman/Belgrade and I have come to know about Powertrain and their operations through the community, and I decided to take my Mustang there for a rebuild!I took it in around September of last year (2022) for the diagnosis and estimate and I just recently got it back this October (2023) and it was well worth the wait that s for sure! The engine was fully rebuilt, I had them put a Holley 670 Carb, and I had them order a new aluminum radiator with electric fan, it sadly didn t fit so they sent it back. They heat cycled the motor, put it on the dyno, and dyno tuned the carb. It made 342 hp @ 5.5k RPM and 377 ft-lbs @ 4.1k RPM! I m so grateful for the work they did on my Mustang and it s been doing absolutely awesome for the past month now! Just did the first oil change at 500 miles and the oil that came out was very clean!.Thank You Very Much!- Lance Killian

My family and I have taken our vehicles here for years and never been disappointed. Recently took my truck in for a detail also and was very pleased with their work. Very affordable compared to other quotes I received from other detail shops. Never knew they did detailing on top of repairs

My vehicle broke down while I was enroute to fight a wildfire and the repair was complicated enough that I had to leave the vehicle behind. I called a bunch of shops in and around Bozeman and they were all booked up several weeks out and were unable to store the vehicle until they were ready to repair. I was in a bad situation with no place to store or fix the vehicle. However, pretty much every shop I called suggested I try Power Train Plus. (PTP was actually my second call but my phone wouldn't connect to them for some reason having to do with my Google Voice so I tried a bunch of other shops until I gave up and tried PTP from another phone). When I finally got around to calling them, they were kind enough to store the vehicle until they were ready to repair and then hold it after until I was able to fly back to pick it up. In a nutshell, they saved my butt. They had no incentive to go out of their way for me, especially since I was from out of town and (unfortunately for me) it's unlikely I'll ever be able to use them again. They did a great job on the repair itself (broken flex plate on a 2014 Ram Promaster) and charged about what I would expect. They even left the broken plate for me as a souvenir :)The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and it was clear that they're a bunch of people who love working with cars, even if it's my old junker. I really appreciated the follow-up call to make sure the van survived the journey home without incident (it did).I also found it reassuring that every shop I called recommended them. The lady at the car rental counter brought her car there and loved them. The tow truck driver said his friends all bring their cars there. In a nutshell, PTP is a beloved and well-run machine. If only I could say the same about my vehicle....Thanks so much for the amazing service and for taking pity on a poor, stranded firefighter.

These guys are great to work with! Steve was great with communication when they were diagnosing/fixing my ford escape. A couple weeks after I picked up my car, there was a noise where it sounded like something was rubbing on my wheel. Within a half hour of texting Steve, he told me to drop my car off that night, and it was fixed by mid morning the next day - and they didn t charge me for it. This is an upstanding business where they take care of their customers!!! We will be a repeat customer. Keep it up!Services: Brakes, Brake service & repair

Cameron and his team are lovely, helpful and prompt. My car broke unexpectedly and I called every shop in town - no one could get me in for over 8 weeks - except PTP. They fixed my car that same week, charged a very fair rate, and were beyond kind and helpful. When I unexpectedly needed a new battery not three weeks later, they remembered me by name and had my car fixed the very same day. Will never take my car anywhere else, and couldn't recommend more highly!

Had my Jeep in for some service, crank shaft sensor, oil pan gasket, thermostat, trans pan gasket. They got to the trans pan then told me i had oil in my coolant and my head gasket was shot, told me my options were to spend 10k on an engine swap or best bet was to sell it. So i sold it to a very nice guy. He informed me that the fluid was not oil but a bit of rust out of the block, and it was simply a defective thermostat they installed and old rad hoses collapsing combined with air in the coolant system causing the overheat, and the Jeep his now running like a top. It seems like they didn t make any effort to diagnose the problem, didn t want to bother with me or my vehicle, or don t know what they re talking about. Terrible experience id give em 0 stars if I could cost me my vehicle AND i still had to pay them for the time they worked on it eff this place.

From start to finish my experience at Powertrain Plus was exceptional. Every staff member I interacted with was not only personable, but helpful as well. Most importantly they performed the service needed and returned my vehicle to me ahead of schedule. With how busy auto service shops are in the Gallatin Valley this has seldom been my experience.I would absolutely recommend this shop and will be bringing vehicles there in the future.

Such a good experience! Everyone in good spirits and they did a great job on my '61 Comet. I've tried a couple of other places but I'm taking both of my cars to Powertrain from here on out! A+++

Cameron and the boys at Power Train Plus did and amazing job on the Fox suspension leveling kit for my 2023 Ford F150. They were fast and stayed extra hours to get the job done in the time line they promised. Highly recommend them and will use them for future mechanic work.

I'll start by saying that Cameron is a really humble guy and seems to be decent, I just seemed to get the short end of the stick with my experience with him. I recently bought a 2015 supercharged mustang that I assume has a vacuum leak as it's running lean and rich and the idle is pretty eratic. Power train plus was recommended to me so I figured I didn't have anything to worry about,I called there shop and spoke to the front office guy (or so I assume) and he scheduled me 2 weeks out from the date I called. 2 weeks go by and I take my car down it's a hour and a half away. It's a Wednesday and the office guy told me they would be working on it all day Thursday and I would be able to get it that Friday well I call that Friday and am told by the office guy that they had a burn. Out competition and we're in the middle of installing a 4 post lift and they didn't do anything yet and that they would get to it that Monday well call them that following Tuesday for them to tell me (oh he has it on the dyno and they'd will get to ut first thing in the morning) so all day Wednesday goes by no call or update so I call them 20 mins before closing on Thursday and they say the same thing (oh he has it on the dyno) then I get a call back asking for my email and all they did was do a power run with my car on the dyno without looking over anything on the engine when I clearly stated that I think something mechanical is going on and they tell me they did a pull on the dyno but didn't data log it. So at this pint I'm pretty upset and call and finally get to talk to Cameron and Word for word he says "I don't know how to work on these cars and I'm not going to fake it till I make it" so at thisnpint I'm just mad and wondering why I even took my car down there in the first place and he says "what do you expect you didn't have an appointment" when I waited 2 WEEKS!! to bring it down there SO LONG STORY SHORT I GOT CHWRGED 525 DOLLARS for them to tell me what power my car is pushing when I literally brought them a dyno slip that wasn't even from 2k miles ago and changed my blower oil when I stated that was the last thing I wa ted done if they had time. They charged me 300 dollars to rack my car up and do 1 pull and I didn't benefit anything out of this and lost 500 dollars for absolutely nothing. They clearly lack communication between the shop guys and office guys because they would each tell me 2 different things. I'd like my 300 bucks back for the waisted dyno run that did absolutely nothing for me.

When I was having problems with my car, I called Power Train and they got me in really fast. They communicated with me through out the day to give me updates and before moving forward with any repairs, they took the time to explain everything that was going on with my car. Not once did they pressure me into the repairs, just gave me the information I needed to make a well informed decision. They eased a lot of the anxiety I was having about bringing my car in to a shop, especially as a young woman. You can trust Power Train to do honest work. I will definitely be going back to them in future. They genuinely care about their customers, and are knowledgeable and experienced in their field. Thank you for all your help! Shout out to Stacey and Scott for taking extra care and consideration with my questions and concerns. I appreciate you!Services: Transmission, Wheel alignment

A well organized professional business taking all the right steps to provide quality service with well trained mechanics. I highly recommend them. So much better than taking my truck to the local dealer.

Two years ago I had a revelation while driving through Rocky Canyon, the narrow winding route between the Bear Canyon and Jackson Creek exits east of Bozeman, in my 1969 Firebird: safe driving speed in a 1960s car is a dicey prospect when everyone else is driving 70-80 mph through those curves. Over the last two years, I ve had Power Train Plus do two rounds of work on my car. First, they installed a T-56 six-speed transmission and 3.90 limited-slip gears. Then, four-wheel fully adjustable suspension with C7 Corvette disc brakes all around, 17-in wheels and tires, new steering, AC, and a 455. The guys at Power Train Plus did an amazing job, and I couldn t be happier with the car. It's now set up for pro-touring: 80 miles an hour at 2300 rpm, able to take curved roads at ease at that speed, plenty of grunt to pull in sixth gear, and with the AC blasting the whole time. The twists and turns of Rocky Canyon are now a joy to drive.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Transmission repair, Brakes, Air conditioning, Brake service & repair

Last spring I purchased a 2007 Silverado 1500 Crewcab from Power Train Plus Performance.Cameron had just put a brand new high performance engine into the vehicle. Needless to say, the truck has a lot of added horsepower and torque. I love the truck and highly reccomend their shop if you need a new engine or upgrade to your vehicle. Cameron and Stacy have built a great business and team to service your needs

I was moving my family from Bozeman, Montana to Birmingham, Alabama. We planned to drive our 1983 Brougham RV. I brought it in Powertrain to get it ready for the trip. Jordan and Stacey got us road worthy and 2,113 miles later we made safe and sound! I HIGHLY recommend this place as they came highly recommended to me by friends and coworkers.

I have a snow plowing business and the water pump in my 2006 Dodge Ram decided to go out on me. Power Train was able to get me in and fixed very quickly. Im sure it wasn't very easy working on my truck with a snow plow in the way, but they got it done very quickly and I was extremely happy to get back to work with it. I want to thank the mechanic and everyone who helped. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you!

Needed fast turnaround on dead battery and alternator and they came through. No one in Bozeman would get the car in for 4-6 weeks. The car rental company and tow company said we were lucky we chose Power Train because they are very good. I agree! Cameron went above and beyond helping make me an oil line for a turbo that ruptured. He had the parts in stock and had it built up faster than I could even get there to pick it up. Pricing was great and service fantastic. Would recommend to anyone. And he s a helluva nice guy on top of it all.

So so so grateful for the help they gave and the transparency they brought. I dont know cars and they explained everything very well and I came out of this feeling confident in knowing what was wrong with my car. They took their time to actually help me as a customer rather than giving the cold shoulder. They noticed a part wrong that I could have run on for a while longer and didn't make it seem like it needed immediate attention when it didn't, but made me aware of it in addition to what needed to be done. I went ahead and got it replaced so I dont have to down the road, but didnt feel pressured into it. The price wasnt ghastly for everything, it was reasonable especially considering how much care they took of my car and customer relations. I will be going to them from here on out. A friend recommended them to me, and I understand why now. Best mechanic I have had in Bozeman area, and my family has dealt with many. Please, go here, its worth it.Service: Auto engine diagnostic
