I just wanted to say thank you to Black Chewing Bones Camp and staff for offering such a peaceful space to camp. The sites were spacious, quiet, and so peaceful on the water. Staff welcomed us and shared information about the area. The bathrooms were clean and the entire campground was well kept. After a long day of driving, this campground offered the peace we needed in the beauty of nature and quiet space.

What a disappointment this campsite was! The place is beautiful, but we clearly felt like we were bothering the girl at reception when we arrived, who was sitting on the sofas. Our G3 spot is ultra basic with no camping table (there were some on the other spots but not ours). Then we couldn't do our laundry in the evening because all the machines were reserved and the visitor center closes at 8pm.The girl at reception told us to come back the next day at 8am when it opens, which we did. We waited in front of the gate for 1 hour until I asked one of the guys in his pickup truck who was circling the campsite and he told me that no one was coming today! What a joke! What a waste of time! Thanks to this girl at reception for her lack of sympathy and bad information. And the shower water smells terrible, and the state of the toilets, brown with dirt, suggests that they are rarely cleaned...

My stay was extremely enjoyable. 10 minute drive into East Glacier made it a breeze. And 10 minutes away from Babb gave me a better alternative in buying gas, as it was about .20-.30 cents cheaper. **at the time**Don t hesitate.

Great campground. The staff was awesome and helpful. We reserved a spot (B18) ahead of time and luckily the campground was only about 1/2 full so I asked to move to a more scenic spot (G21). We moved campsites easily and ended up with a little path to the lake; it was awesome. The location is great for Many Glacier hikes. Quiet at night which was nice. The bathrooms were fine, nothing amazing but the shower was hot, so that was a win. Views are awesome. Definitely nice to get away from the crowds at the NPS campgrounds.

very friendly and helpful staff, campground is a large open field with plenty space. Lobby always has a fire going, free hot choc and tea and wifi + pool table. Showers werent working but clean porta pottie were placed all around, easy access. Some sites have direkt lake access. Can hear some very mild traffic from road, depending where your site is. stayed 3 nights total within our round trip. calm and chill, recommend

I really liked the location of this campground. Very close to the St. Mary s entrance to Glacier National Park. I found the staff here to be pretty friendly and helpful, too. However, remember to bring plenty of bug spray as this campground has a lot of mosquitoes. The bathrooms definitely need work. The washrooms closest to my campsite only had one working shower, so there was always a line for it.

Okay, so the bathrooms suck, I m self contained and don t care! The location is perfect, halfway between the Many Glacier and St Mary s entrances. Mosquitoes? What campground in Montana on water doesn t have mosquitoes. Yes it s an open field but there are several sites along the perimeter that offer water access and the views of the mountains are unmatched! I had several beavers swimming around in the afternoon that provided great entertainment! Firewood is cheap and the staff is accommodating and friendly.

I really loved my stay here. The people were so nice, and the campground was really peaceful and beautiful. Set right on Lower Saint Mary Lake, my site had a beautiful sunset view of the sun going down past the mountains that head into Glacier National Park. It was nice to have a hot shower after several days back packing. It was even more nice contributing to the Blackfeet Tribe by staying on their reservation. Thank you so much for our stay and making it a great two nights for us.

We had a great stay at this campground! The people were super friendly and helpful. They were always around to be of service and make sure we were okay. It is a laid-back, rustic atmosphere and the lake is gorgeous! The bathrooms we re OK and everything operating fine. Variety of sites with hook up options and tent camping as well. Would stay here again!

Don t stay here!!!!! We had a tent site reserved for 4 nights. The campground is an open field, no trees, bumpy ground, very old picnic tables, a hole with rocks for a fire ring. Horrible bathrooms! No soap or paper towels. One of two in men s room was out of order. Tattered, cheap, barely hanging shower curtains that didn t provide privacy and the water stained the white tile deep red. It was dirty and gross. We asked for a refund and were refused. We left anyway and didn t stay.

When looking for a place to camp near Glacier, it was hard to find something. If you are going to the park, this is the ideal side to stay on in my opinion. Close to Many Glacier and close to St Mary's entrance. (We actually stayed on both sides.) I was nervous to camp here because of some reviews. I loved this place. No one bothered us. We were at the park most of the day and only at the campground in the evening. We stayed with a 30 ft travel trailer. At first, I thought we would only be able to get electric hookup and would need to fill with water and dump when we left ($10 dump fee). However, after checking in and driving to our site, I saw all of the RVs we came to were full hook-ups. I went back to the office to see if we could switch sites. We were initially at B17 (close to the lake, 30 amp, and water nearby to fill). However, she said B10 was available for 2 nights so we could stay there 2 of our 3 nights and then move. B10 was full hook-up with 50, 30, and 20 amp at the box. It was on the corner of the row so we weren't sandwiched in on both sides. We had a good amount of space to our site. The ladies who work in the office were very kind and helpful. When I went back to see where we could stay our 3rd night, B10 was now available so we didn't need to move! There is 1 shower house on the campground side because the other is under construction. I cannot speak to the cleanliness or quality of the shower house because we didn't use it. I did see workers at the shower house though a few different times so I imagine they were cleaning or taking care of any problems. Also, when we were setting up, the male workers drove around to see if we needed anything at our site (picnic table or fire ring). They also took our garbage bag when we were walking it to the dumpster. There is a black bear living in the wooded area of the campground. My dad saw it in the woods on the day-use side when walking in the evening, and it ran when it saw or heard him. Just don't leave food out and you should be fine with the bear. The one worker said the game commission was going to try to move it though.I would stay here again the next time I go to Glacier. They also have a little store with some food and camping things. Also, they have a laundry facility in the office.I did read this on another review so I asked: because it is an Indian Reservation, you need a recreational permit to do most things here such as, swimming, boating, hiking, biking. Be sure to look into that before engaging in any activity or touching the water in St Mary Lake at the campground. You will be fined if you cannot show your permit while engaging in these activities.

Do not stay in this campground. It is an open field with little privacy. The mosquitos are terrible. The bathrooms are very rough. There are three toilets and two showers accessible for women to use, however, there was never toilet paper or soap and the shower water was very cold one of the days.

Very large campground with many spots still open the first weekend in August - we probably didn't even need reservations at all. Staff was VERY friendly and VERY professional! A welcome letter posted weather forecast for the following 3 days which is a lovely touch. Check-in lobby was clean and had foosball/pool/ comfortable seats for the morning paper. They post closing hours of 10pm, but were still helping late arrivals at 11:00 pm. Our campsite was clean and well-maintained (mowed, smooth, very flat for leveling camper). The roads around the campground were also well maintained. Many sites were "on the water" of Lower St. Mary's Lake although I think access to the water was restricted. Took about 10-15 minutes to get to Swiftcurrent Motor Inn in Many Glacier - very centrally located. It was nice to leave the crowds of the park and come "home" to our quiet campground. I would stay here again and again. I docked a half-star from a 5 star review because the showers need some work. Although there are 2 showers and they are free, they are a mess. We have a trailer and thankfully did not need to use the campground bathroom. If you are a tent campter and love a spa-like shower at the end of the day, you won't like this. At all. Tile needs replacement/repair and the iron-rich water makes everything red.p.s. other reviews mention tents being moved which I thought was a big red flag. We actually experienced the "tent move" situation other mentioned with our neighbors tents getting moved to accommodate a camper trailer. When the tent neighbors returned, they relocated their tents to a different site. Not sure what happened there, but I suspect the tenters did not check-out in time for the trailer to land in their reserved spot. I don't think it's the staff causing tent-movement problems. I think its the tenters who don't have reservations just leaving their things for the day without consideration for those who made prior reservations for particular spots.

Our family stayed here 5 days. We stayed in a tent site in the trees by the lake. The lake is very clean and the water is fresh. My kids enjoyed the lake and said it was cold. Staff is very nice and friendly. The bathrooms are almost unusable. The toilets are flush and the sinks give hot water. However the showers are not nice and the floors of the men s showers are wood like a pallet and constantly wet. The bathrooms while we were there hardly ever had toilet paper. The map shows two bathrooms but only one works. The other is a complete disaster zone. We asked the staff for toilet paper and they put one roll in each bathroom. It quickly ran out again with the large size of the campground.T-Mobile had no access to internet here but the staff had Verizon and it worked for them. The site provides easy access to all three east side entrances to Glacier National Park. Many glacier entrance is especially close but the road is in bad shape and under construction. IAt night the campground is noisy with an 11 pm quiet hour. Don t expect to get to sleepBefore 11:30 pm in a tent. The campground has a lot of road noise from rt 89 and it is worse at night.

Nicely laid out campground with easy access. Plenty of space between neighbors. Super accommodating staff made us feel very welcome. Rented a canoe and a kayak. Be sure to get the recreation permit online if you are going into the lake. Beautiful lake. Stayed in a travel trailer. Easy ride to East Glacier St.Mary s entrance. Had a great stay.

Gorgeous views! The lake is crystal clear great for swimming and boating. Showers, bathrooms, and yes even washer dryer. $1.50 for a load $1.00 for the dryer. Small mini market and firewood on grounds. Most of all the staff is super friendly and helpful!

Absolutely stunning campground! The lake is absolutely stunning especially at sunset, the grounds were immaculately kept and absolutely beautiful, and the bathrooms/showers were clean and well-maintained. Tressa took good care of us, and if we are ever back in the area, this is the only campground we would consider staying at. Good people and good energy.

Awesome campground. Stayed 2 nights Beautiful little lake. Full hook up very rv friendly. The staff was amazing friendly and helpful. It s an 8 mile drive from Go to the a sun road very convenient without being in the glacier park. Especially since many campgrounds in the park closed this year Covid we did laundry there too drove up to nice hiking trails near Canada border a few miles up the road from the campground. Saw a grizzly in the drive up to Chief Mountain. Really can t say enough just great place will come back if in Glacier National park again. Thanks everyone. And we enjoyed the music and native stories the one evening we were there :)

This place was pitiful!! The bathrooms were dirty and 3 of the 4 showers (two men's and 2 women's for the whole campground??) did not work. The fourth shower leaked so much the buildup of iron on the floor was totally unappealing. And, you had to pay $5 for each shower! Insects in the sink made brushing your teeth or washing your face a major challenge. The campground itself was mostly barren and open with no shade but lots of dust. Trash was all over! There were a few okay tent camp sites but most were either too small or in the open. I had a paper that said the cost was $20 a night but they charged us $25, and there was no store or food available. Do not go here.

Very spacious campground right on the lake. Lots of choices for camping-from a spot on the grassy field ($25) to private spot on the lake with electric ($55) and other choices in between. Much better than KOA where you are crammed in next to each other. Indoor showers with hot water, flush toilets, water spigots everywhere. Wifi near the office and good cell signal in the campground. This is a hidden gem. I stayed here 9 nights and there was always plenty of spaces available. Just show up, no worries about finding a place to stay. Perfectly located between Many Glacier and St. Mary Lake. There is even a ranger program Thursdays at 730 called Native American Speaks in their amphitheater near the office.

Beautiful Rose's and other wildflowers growing wild. Scent of honey in the air, wind blowing through the leaves of the Quaker trees, beautiful lake was behind our camping spot, water and electricity available plus very large campsites bathrooms and showers available and the best customer service ever. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to get back there someday. I almost forgot the fire pit and picnic tables too.

This is a great place! We stayed in a tent near the lake and really enjoyed it. They had reasonable prices for the laundry use, restrooms were clean and the office area had a place for games. We encountered a strange incident with another camper and they handled it with care. They went above and beyond to help us out. A great big shout out to Mason, Waylon and Jessie for the care and hospitality.

Really enjoyed this place. Only ended up staying one night, but we tent camped on one of the lake front spaces. Spaces were sufficiently separated from each other. Did not use showers or laundry while we were there so I can't comment on that aspect. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

As many people stated this is a beautiful campground. The woman checking us in was very friendly even though it was evening when we arrived. The RV and tent campground is down the paved road near the lake. The check-in office, nearby road and teepees are not visible from the campground. We had 50amp electric, water and sewer for $50 a night (no tax as this is on the Reservation). The ground, although a field and the very rainy weather when we were there) was very solid for our 35' RV and spacious. We had a view of the beautiful mountains. We had great Verizon service and no T-Mobile service. We enjoyed our stay!

Great find on the east side of Glacier National Park. Peaceful, quiet right on the lake. Tent sites are in the trees along the lake, rv sites are huge in the middle of a large field. Lots of room for the kids to play and not bother other campers. Reasonably priced for a full hookups and only 5 min to the park gates, 15 mins to the boarder. Only giving it 4 stars because the bathrooms need some work.Had a great stay, thank you.
