Brought my car in for safety/emissions and the process was so smooth! I was able to get my car in almost immediately with no problems. Everyone I dealt with was so incredibly friendly and they let me know as soon as my car was ready to be picked up. They even worked around my work schedule and were very understanding about it. Will definitely be going back!

Dropped off car for an emissions inspection. Was told would need to leave all day and would be worked in which was no problem.After waiting most of the day called to check in on the progress and was informed that their machine was down and they would not be able to performThe work. Went in to pick up vehicle and asked about scheduling an appointment and was told they could not as they were unsure when machine would be up again.Now for the issue . It may seem simple and trivial but not once was an apology offered for the situation to me. Not on the phone not when I went in and picked up my vehicle. You can claim you had no control Over the machine going down. But you can totally control how you response to the issue.Not calling me as soon as you realized an issue with the machine in the morning is poor customer service. And not even offering me an apology at any stage is even worse customer experience. I will never be back to this business and would advise others if you want to be treated with respect to avoid as well!Edit: business responded to my review. The manager or whoever I spoke with never offered to have me come back the next day. Simply told me I would need to call and check back the following week try around Tuesday. Again no apology was ever given on the phone or in person.

If there is a reward for being the nicest people on the planet it has to go to these guys. Brought my mother's vehicle in several times along with mine. Always so nice, reasonable on the charges and done in a timely manner. Highly recommend.

Note: This review applies to service received after H&S Tire and Automotive changed ownership in Sept 2021.My daughter experienced a momentary issue where all the dashboard warning lights came on and the heater blower stopped; then suddenly returned to normal. Out of caution, I took the car to H&S where we d gone for years to have them check it out. The manager said they checked the battery, alternator, starter etc. and found NO problem. They didn t charge me anything, for which I was grateful. However, within minutes of driving time after picking the vehicle up, it caught fire resulting in $663.81 of damage to the engine compartment.The St. Charles Co Fire Dept asked if we d recently had the car worked on and said whoever worked on it didn t secure the battery properly and the tiedown shorted against the battery post causing the fire which is documented in the official fire report.I contacted the manager at H&S who denied any responsibility by stating they didn t remove the battery and blamed it on the last person that replaced the battery. Then I contacted the new owner who also denied any responsibility. He said they had no cameras in the shop area so he can t confirm what they did or didn t do. When I told him I d been coming to H&S for years and never had a problem until now, he feigned outrage for the perceived insult and abruptly hung up on me.This battery had been replaced by Sam s more than 16 months earlier (and several thousand miles driving later). It is absurd to think that a loose tie-down from more than 16 months earlier would just now show up within minutes of driving after H&S specifically checked the battery and electrical system out. Even if I give H&S the benefit of the doubt, they should have noticed the improperly secured tie-down bar during their troubleshooting/ diagnostics and secured it as a potential problem, but did not. I requested reimbursement for the damages from H&S but they continue to deny any responsibility.[3/13/23 Response to H & S]Your words appear understanding in this public forum, but in private it's a different tone. My opinion about the decline in service quality after the ownership change was an observation I made based on my experience of nearly 17 years going to H & S. I hadn't said anything because I didn't think it warranted a complaint -- things like not having the vehicle ready the same day as promised or not calling me when it was ready -- while inconvenient, I overlooked it. But after I mentioned it to you, you didn't even care to find out what the issues were. Now why wouldn't a business want to know? To me, it means they don't really care. You just wanted to shut me down so you didn't have to reimburse me for any damages. But this was a serious incident that could not be ignored -- a fire in my daughter's car that started with the very system H & S had inspected and determined no problem less than 3 hours earlier. I am just thankful my daughters were not injured. This is all about standing behind your work and taking responsibility for it...even when your feelings are hurt. Now that you ve sacrificed a long- time customer and self-declared the issue closed, my purpose in writing a review is to inform other consumers of the possible risk in doing business with H & S (since the majority of reviews are relative to the previous owner). I hope you'll change your approach in dealing with customer issues in the future.

Our car broke down on Saturday of a holiday weekend. AAA towed our car here. We had no idea what to expect! We called them around 9 am the day after the holiday. The gentleman said they would try to check it out. We had spent an anxious weekend 1500 miles from home, wondering if the car was even repairable. It looked like the axel May be broken. A few hours later we received a call telling us what was wrong.. and it wasn t anything as bad as we thought! We were told it would be ready the next day! By 10:30 the following day the car was fixed! There was a minor issue after we drove it around a bit which they quickly repaired. They did a fabulous job at a more than fair price. They could have really ripped us off knowing we were desperate but they didn t! They were friendly, helpful and put a priority rush since we had already been stuck there for 5 days! We were travelling from Az to NJ pulling a trailer as we had just sold our home and we re moving the contents back to our home in NJ! Unfortunately I didn t take a pix of the damage! We were very satisfied and would highly recommend this small but very efficient business!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I first used them last year when I wrecked my car and they were on the preferred AAA list to get my car towed to. Great group of guys... I've never spoken to anyone that wasn't incredibly nice. I don't feel like I'm being ripped off or lied to. Just picked my car up from getting an oil change and emissions. Way cheaper than going to Valvoline. Repeat customer for sure!

Ryan is helpful and assisted me in selecting new tires. He was able to assist me with other services for my Jeep as well. He even assisted me with learning about businesses that could perform services on my Jeep that H & S cannot. His integrity is top notch!

This place is a joke. The new owners are absolute jerks. We decided to still return to this business when new owners took over. What a mistake that was. They are complete jerks about everything. Dont expect your car to be done on time also. Then they will claim it wasn t their fault!!! Then will argue with you about it!!! Sad that a name has been around that long and someone new comes in and completely destroys the name and business. Please do not give them your business!!! Definently will be letting everyone know about this horrible experience!Edit: they have now deleted this 8 times!!! Shows the kind of business they run when they can t handle a bad review. I WILL continue to keep posting this so nobody has to be treated so poorly! I am in contact with the bbb! Caution if they dont like your bad review, they will not only argue with you but keep deleting what they don t like!Second edit: we have never returned since the incident and the owners have called our personal phone and HARASSED us!!! We now are in contact with local police because of this!

I live five minutes from here and I m so thankful to have such a good repair shop so close. Ryan gave me honest answers and options as far as what was necessity and what could wait if my pockets wouldn t allow it. I love the honesty and also how they figured out what was actually wrong w my truck specifically and how to fix it. If it s trickier to figure out, Ryan will definitely get to the bottom of it one way or another. From now on, this is my go to auto repair shop ! Very reasonably priced and they don t try to run game on you just because you re a female either which is another plus I meant to point out. They don t have grumpy attitudes at the front desk and are very friendly unlike a lot of other places lol Makes me want to keep doing business with them and like I can trust them. I haven t found an auto repair establishment since I moved far away from my last one and I m so happy I gave this one a try.Services: Auto A/C recharge, Electrical, Auto brake repair, Brakes, Auto maintenance

UPDATE:They failed my vehicles safety INCORRECTLY...listed an incorrect part as what was failing...they noted they took off the front left tire and my "Sealed Wheel bearing hub assembly exceeded manufacturer wear" - upon a ton of research and making calls to the dealership my car does not have a sealed wheel bearing hub assembly on the front of my car (I does on the rear but not the front. On the front I have a Hub Bearing KIT aka a pressed hub bearing according to the dealership.)I ended up purchasing the part and tool expecting to have to make the repairs and when the person that was going to do the work was checking on it they discovered none of my bearings were bad (they checked all 4 wheels just to be safe)We waited until Tuesday and my cousin took it to a shop that ONLY does inspections no additional car work and wouldn't you know it my vehicle passed inspection (WITH NO REPAIRS BEING DONE) just like the mechanic (my uncle) that looked at it over the weekend said would happen (and to the jerk that implied my mechanic doesnt know saftey regulations by asking if hes a certified inspector...my uncle has been working on cars all of his life probably longer than you have been alive...and he used to build race cars he knows what will pass or fail safety) To top it off before you say it was overlooked by the other place my car was taken my cousin specifically requested that the bearings be checked just to make sure and he specifically mentioned your failed safetly and the other inspector determined none of my bearings were bad or exceeded recommended wear.SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND MONEY IF YOU NEED AN INSPECTION GO SOMEWHERE THAT WONT LIE TO YOU TO EARN A BUCKworst part was when I called them to even ask what they had seen the person that answered the phone said he didn't know what the inspector saw and that he only writes down what they tell him. So the inspector didn't even write the issue down himself.If you do choose to go here good luck and hopefully they don't cheat you and try to steal ur money like they tried to do to my husband.*******************************************Original post:They failed my vehicles safety inspection told my husband a rough estimate.....I had another machinic look at the part they claimed it failed for and the mechanic determined there was nothing wrong with the part....I'm not sure if they crossed my safety with another vehicles safety inspection or what but it definitely caused an entire headache of a weekend for me

This place is AMAZING! I m currently on a road trip and had some issues with my car half way and called these guys 30 mins before closing. Ryan was such a pleasure to work with. He had me come in the NEXT day and had my cars diagnosis within an hour and it was fixed after 2 more hours. I can t even complain about the price because H & S literally saved us from being stranded in Missouri and got us in next day. If i ever know anyone that s needs a good mechanic in Missouri or they re travel and need a mechanic, I would definitely recommend H & S!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Walked into office to pay bill and receive car, no one was visible. Waited 10 minutes, finally walked out to shop area and someone saw me. Car was not done when discussed. Failed safety inspection for torn windshield wiper blade. Ever since changed ownership everything has went down hill. DO NOT GO HERE !!!! EVER!!I went to have a tire repaired.They left my new truck covered in Greese, put a small scratch in my leather seat, ( scatch under greese spot probably had something sharp in his back pocket location on leather seat is were back pocket would of been )SCRACHED UP My WHEEL !5 OUT OF 6 SPOKES SCRATCH ALL UP ONE REALLY BAD ! Then, claimed it wasn't their fault ! Well if it didn't look like THAT before they worked on it but did after, you tell me who fault it is ! They said the machine didn't do it. Well, the guy drove it also.He DIDN'T take care or pride in handling my truck at all !I TAKE VERT GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE ! IT WAS IMACULANT WHEN I TOOK IT IN ! NOT when they got done with it !THEY DIDNT EVEN APPOLGISE, Only said that he talked to the guy about leaving greese in my truck! REALLY ! This isn't the same owner anymore ! Well you'll be seeing us in small claims court ! This is poor poor poor customer service to say the least !!!!! save yourself and your vehicle , don't go here ever !!!!!!!RESPONCE TO YOUR RESPONCE !That is because you told us to wait after we notified you ABOUT PROBLEM THE SAME DAY INCEDENT HAPPEND ! That you had to contact your insurace which took 2 WEEKS This was posted on day you said not going to do anything ! Poor customer service all it would have took is for you to send someone to buff out wheel nit to mention having to clean our truck after the gresse was left all over it ! INSTEAD OF SPENDING TIME ON HERE TO DEFEND YOUR SELF DO THE RIGHT THING APPOLGISE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT THEN YOUR RETURN CUSTOMERS WILL RETURN ! I AM JUST WARNING OTHERS HOW YOU RUN YOUR BUSINESS. The previous owner was a good guy!PLEASE PEIPLE DONT GO HERE ! I AM NOT LIEING THEY ARE !

Just needed an emissions test, and was calling down the list. Everywhere was 3-4 weeks out until I called here. The gentleman I spoke to was incredibly kind and had great customer service- not to mention they had me in and out in ONE HOUR! Amazing. I ll definitely be back!

I was looking to get an emission test for my car. I saw Jiffy Lube did them on their web site. Upon visiting their store I found they dont. The manager suggested H&S. Drove down to the shop and they got me in immediately. Finished in 15 minutes. Couldn't be more happy with the tech behind the counter or the tech who got me in and out. Great shop. Cant thank them enough. Polite and professional. Highly recommend them!

Scott and his team took awesome care of me and my vehicle... so efficient, and did not completely drain the bank account. Highly recommend (I live in St. Charles MO and will joyfully drive to Wentzville for the quality of service that Scott and his team provide).Now to add to my previous review: I had taken my car to H&S about 6 months ago for some repairs, and had already planned to return knowing I needed some work done.I saved $1200 by going to H&S! Check engine light on (failed emissions). Instead of replacing the throttle body, Scott and the team cleaned it, and changed out the spark plugs and wires to tune it up and clear out the misfires - which was also throwing the code of (possible) catalytic converter failure. If it weren't for the knowledge of Scott and his team, as well as their commitment to integrity and great service, the repairs would have cost nearly $2000 total. Thank you, Scott and team for taking great care of your customers. I think we ALL know who to call when you've got an issue with your vehicles!To sum up: Wanna save some money? I SAVED $1200 BY GOING TO H&S!

My car was taken in immediately and they did a good job on my brakes and tires. The staff was great at keeping me informed on the process as it happened.There was a minor set back due to parts being ordered, but they kept me informed on the new timeline. I would definitely come again for future work!

The possibility of finding an odd tire size, only needed 2, and them being great tires for a really great price was astounding!!! H&S had exactly what we needed, got us in quickly, and we were back on the road in no time! They were super helpful with our family situation and took very good care of our vehicle needs. You can trust the staff at H&S Tire & Auto Center!!!

I called on a Tuesday evening to see if they had a tire available- it was ordered and changed the next day, Wednesday. Price quoted was within every other shop quoted to me from Wentzville to St.Peters. This shop answered their phone, took time to check, and willing to do the work- Walmart, Sams, Dobbs, and one other smaller shop in Wentzville could not be bothered to answer or check for an appointment availability. When my husband dropped the car off they also took time to chat about options for the spare and completed the job within the time frame expected.Service: Auto tire replacement

I called and was able to get an appointment same day for my emissions test. When I showed up at the scheduled time they immediately started on my vehicle. Less than 20 minutes later it was finished. It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back in the future.

Great family run business that has served the local community for years. My dad started having cars serviced with Howard and now the rest of our family takes cars to Scott. Recently I was in Wentzville for a day and discovered water leaking into car. Scott quickly fixed and got me back on the road. Highly recommend this business.

We have been using H &S for close to 20 years. Bought serval sets of tires, have had inspections and repair work on multiple vehicles over that time. Great work at a fair price with good deals on tires. Honest and trustworthy. Always recommend them when we get the chance.

I ve come up here several times and they ve always been great to me and accommodating. They even told me my tires we re wearing very unevenly. Great job H&S, will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to have repairs done.

This review is based solely on the fact that my privacy was not respected. I brought my car in back in February to have my alternator replaced. Months later it defected again and I had to bring it back. Due to the confines of my warranty I could not take it elsewhere, as H&S has a warranty on their alternator work. The associate called me today to tell me the situation and stated he Found a bag with a pulley and drive tensioner belt in my trunk. He even went as far as to say he found a receipt dated from May, suspecting that the issue with my alternator was due to my car being worked on elsewhere. He then tells me he still isn t going to charge me. I am mostly shocked he so boldly admitted to snooping through my trunk to find a receipt that had to have been dug out. Extremely unprofessional. I have been going to H&S Tire ever since I was 16 and got my license. My family has also been going here since I can remember. I have never had any problems there. They are professional and know what they are doing. They also do it for cheap so who wouldn't like that. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs work done on their car. Very friendly people. Stop by and see what they can do for you.
