After my accident, and having almost lost my sanity, I decided to try to save my car once and for all. The car I fought so hard to conquer it. I still have cosmetic problems that I will be able to solve later, but what was up to them to solve was undoubtedly very well done. I needed of course to bring the purchased parts, but they made an exchange of my strut, put my new tire, and gave a new alignment. And my car that was stopped, is back on the road, and all thanks to Vanzandt s. For a very fair and very profitable price, they did all the services and were very attentive to me. I highly recommend taking your car there, in case you need a quality mechanic and fair price.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Transmission replacement, Wheel alignment

Been going here for years like the service for the most part until this last vehicle I had check engine light was on. Took it to him four times. Different times. It's been about $2,500 total and come to find out the whole time. My time was jumped. He does not do what he's supposed to do for his customers. He looks for the whatever fixes it and then charges you and couple months down the road I was having the same problem again. So this time I took it to another mechanic and it's only going to cost me $1,700 to have my timing fixed. If he would have just done that in the first place I wouldn't have been paying him all this other money. So I'd really think before you take your vehicle there.

Took my car in to have a new radiator installed and valve cover gaskets replaced was told over the phone by one of the mechanics they would change the oil. Took new parts and oil for them to use. After which I asked for a receipt to prove history of an oil change and was refused. 10 months later there's another oil leak from the valve covers so I take it to a mechanic that's close to my location. They've informed me the valve covers have not been replaced within the last year or 10k miles. Previous to that I took my car in to Vanznadt's for a brake job, the brakes squealed and grinded after leaving there and each time I went back Jimmy argued saying he couldn't hear anything wrong with them.

Brought a car in with issues starting and door not unlocking with the key. They held the car for an extra 4 days, charged more than what they originally said the repairs would be, and didn't even fix either of the issues the vehicle was having. In addition, they programmed someone's old key to the car as a fob and SANDED DOWN the actual key on the fob and it barely works (picture attached) instead of fixing the door which he entirely left alone when they originally said they could fix it. When we called back, got cursed out by the mechanic when he was asked to take another look at the car. They legitimately stole about $800 from my roommate to do absolutely nothing.

People who are fair and square don t grow on trees.Car stuff is freaky sometimes and good service is special.So, even though this shop is further from our house and a bit inconvenient, this is our spot. Worthwhile if you need fair and square. If I want a smart, fair assessment, yeah Jim is the guy.We ve brought things to Vandzandt s for a long while. Blessed by the experiences.

I have been to many auto shops over the years, and I started using the big-name dealership that I purchased my car from. Why was I using an overpriced dealership, you ask? I'm glad that you asked. I was tired of being ripped off from the other independent auto shops around Springfield... that was until I tried Vanzandt's Affordable Auto Repair.Not only was I provided with a fair price for the labor and parts, but the parts even came with a lifetime warranty! At another repair shop (several to be precise), I was quoted over double the price for parts and labor, but it was only with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty, FOR 2.5 time the price and warranty that was offered to me by Vanzandt's. After seeing their work and honesty upfront, I will NEVER take my car to another auto repair shop as long a I live in the SGF area.Thank you Vanzandt's for restoring my faith in auto repair shops.

Will tear your vehicle apart and keep on telling telling you things that are wrong. He is looking for race car money and vacation money. Will never go back horrible experience. Vehicle ran worse when I got it back

They were super nice! They were conversational and funny and made me feel so welcome. They were super quick and to top it off They properly pronouned me! First time I used them was very satisfied, however the last time I used them I had an appointment for 8 am and my car didn't get started on until after 1:30. I was told a price on the phone, then was charged more than double. Though I have a warranty on my parts through them I likely won't go back.

Very expensive oil change for $65 dollars and the girl told me I'm getting a good deal. I since then get it done at Walmart for $45.00. I'll never go back to them for this with the senseless price gouging they do.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Good, honest folks doing excellent work at reasonable prices. I had my vehicle towed in fearing that we might be looking at an expensive repair or engine replacement. They ended up diagnosing the problem and fixing it for far less than I would have imagined. Highly recommended!

The gentleman knew exactly what was wrong with my vehicle as soon as he was able to look at it. And was able to fix it the next day before closing. Also the gentleman was kind enough to give me a ride home while I waited on my car. Fivestars isn't enough for this kind of service.

These guys are amazing. I took my SUV there, which was suffering from an issue with it's electrical system.They diagnosed and corrected it's issues in less than half a day. Amazing, simple amazing I thought. What really got me was that I had expected a bill of several hundred dollars. Instead, it was less than a hundred.Needles to say, I now have a new favorite mechanic shop. How can you beat fast, efficient, and easy on the wallet? By their employee's great attitudes, and willingness to actually have a discussion with you about what's going on with your vehicle...

I have been coming here over a decade, today I was not expecting a inspection to turn into a small dent on my CC, However not complaining, I'm always amazed how Jim can make 2 phone calls and solve your problem in under an hour, so long as you have an appointment I have been recommending this shop to friends and relatives he has worked HARD to get where he's at. Originally gave these guys five stars because they seem really nice and willing to help. I am having to change my review however because since then I've tried using them and they definitely tried to gouge me in price and after that I discovered the work they did on my car was not done properly and almost killed my family as a result.

Not only was the staff extremely rude and unprofessional, but they didn't even fix the problem after charging me and my husband over 2000 dollars. Jim refused to communicate about my car and had the nerve to HANG UP ON ME. They lost my front license plate and tried to claim it never came to the shop with one! They left my car completely on empty where I had to bring a gas can up to even drive it home. I waited an extra four days to get my car back and it's like they never worked on it at all! This has been the worst shop experience I have had to date. I wouldn't recommend this shop to ANYONE.Services: Electrical, Air conditioning

My daughter took her car, and the parts to have the drivetrain fixed. The parts were installed but when the mechanic took it for a drive it still made the same noise. So the mechanic took the parts off thinking they were wrong. He discovered they were correct and decided it was the differential instead. They charged her for the installation and another fee for putting the part on a second time even though they were the correct parts. They told her the new problem was $2-3000 to fix, so she took it back home. My husband and I finally made it to Springfield. With the car running he looked under the hood and discovered a motor mount was bad. He showed my daughter the problem and helped her order the parts. She and her boyfriend fixed it for $100. They neither one are mechanics and they're only 21. I don't know what to think of the mechanics at this shop.

Spent $741 to get something fixed, they did it and I could barley drive around the block anymore, so they kept my car from Friday-Tuesday and replaced things that were making my car run bad, spent another $217 on that, and noticed my radio no longer works. They said they found a penny stuck in the lighter piece and removed it but there were still 2 pennies in there when I left. I went back to get my radio fixed and they said they didn t work on radios and didn t know what was wrong that caused my radio to stop working. I mean after spending $958 within 2 weeks with them you d think I left with it working and running better! My car does run better but now my radio doesn t work so that s MORE money I have to spend to get it fixed very disappointing honestly

I had taken my car on Friday to get it checked out, they told me they would call once it was finished. Today I was wondering why it was taking so long to get back to me and called them to inquire about my car. They told me it had been finished after about two hours of work days ago. Very unprofessional and can't let you know when your vehicle is done after requesting they do so (after they told you they would). The person I was speaking with on the phone also had a tone of voice that seemed as if they were annoyed and dealing with me like I was bothering them while they were on the clock.*Update* I had this review at 2 stars but decided to lower it after finding that they didn't even fix the problem in the first place. Would put zero stars if it gave me an option

I went here for auto repairs for a while and they did alright for the most part. Jim is a nice guy. However I won t be going back since they charged me $30 just to clear a check engine light. If they had told me that s what they were doing I would have had no problem paying but they told me they had done much more to the car. The light came back in as I pulled out of their lot. It s also not the most affordable place in town for repairs, even if they say it is.

If you want an honest mechanic, that won't RIP you off, try and have you fix things that aren't broken, and it's crazy, efficient, friendly, and effective. Then this needs to be your mechanic shop! They even stand behind their work! I cannot recommend them enough.Great service and good prices. The owner is very friendly and knows what he's doing. They are my mechanic for life! Try them out for an estimate, you'll be amazed.I had them replace the transmission in my Nissan Pathfinder. When I got it back, it worked perfectly. They have done my brakes, and many other things. I'm about to have them replace the head gaskets and water pump.

The best experience I've ever had at a mechanic shop. Jim was very professional and courteous to my mother and I from start to finish! The crew there started on time and finished before they went home. NO HASSLES! AWESOME experience! I will take all my car issues there and highly recommend them to all my clients! Thank you.

One of our cars would not start intermittently. I was able to tinker with the wires to the starter under the vehicle and get it to start every now and then. That stopped working and we didn't know what to do. My wife called Vanzandt's and they had it towed to their shop. Initial testing showed the starter had failed, we were quoted a good price and authorized the repairs. About an hour later, we got a call saying the starter was fine and the wiring harness for the starter needed to be replaced. The work was still done on the same day AND it was half of the original estimate. Way to be fair and honest. I will be bringing another vehicle here very soon for other issues. We may have just found our mechanic!!!!

I was turned onto the shop by a mutual friend and I haven't looked back. They do the work that needs to be done at a reasonable price. A great shop & I highly recommend them.

I dont own a car but they are always nice when i bring my bicycle up when the tire is flat they let me air it up. They also found and took care of my dog when she got loose untill i came to get her. all around the people who own this place and thoes wodrking here are good hardworking friendly people.
