Really happy with the work they did on my 02 Acura s transmission. It was a car with low miles and they knew exactly what was wrong with it from a phone call. They were honest, telling me it s expensive but also if I wanted to wait till it failed, I could. You know they do good work when they have a waiting list, and kept a good schedule on getting cars fixed. Really appreciate them and would be recommending them to others.

My Honda Pilot had a shot transmission. I decided to come to Specialized Transmission after reading the reviews and comparing quotes. They were very reasonable and both Tony and Billy are very knowledgeable and personable. There was a little bit of a wait to get in - but it was well worth it as Tony did an excellent job restoring a transmission that was about as good as scrap. Highly recommend!Service: Transmission

Highly recommend! Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Very fair price too. I m very happy with their rebuild on my truck s transmission. Truck was ready to go pretty quick too. I will definitely be coming back if I ever need anymore transmission work!!

These guys are great at what they do.They don t jump right into a rebuild without testing things to find the problem. They replaced the torque converter in my 97 F250 with an upgraded version and it s noticeably better.Also, they got my 63 Chevy powerglide working again. I thought it was going to need a rebuild but they fixed it for $65. Very honest and knowledgeable guys.Service: Transmission

Referred to Specialized Transmission by a family member. They are super friendly and try to get you in the quickest they can. With both my family member's and my vehicle they made every effort to avoid the higher priced option, rebuild or replacement. That's hard to find these days! When a shop tries to help you avoid higher costs, you have more faith in them if you do have to take more expensive actions later. They have definitely earned my trust.I highly recommend and would return for sure!

I had a 14 Chevy cruze that needed a transmission control module replaced. The shop I paid to diagnose this issue doesn't do transmission work and referred his friend Tony who is the owner of Specialized Transmissions to do the work bc they are in the same shopping center. I had to call repeatedly to get ahold of anyone here. After speaking to Tony I asked for a quote. Tony wasn't able to quote the job. Then asked for a vin number to the vehicle which was located 20 feet away from his desk which he was too lazy to go and get. Then when I called back the next day to ask again about the quote Tony wouldn't answer the phone. I left voice-mail and messages for Tony to call me back to quote the job that was referred to him and he refused to answer his phone or return voice-mail regarding my car. This was a 1300 dollar job and an easy one for a transmission shop to do. Tony simply wasn't man enough to tell me he didn't want to do the work bc he was too lazy. I wouldn't take anything to this man to work on bc of his inability to return a phone call. If he can't answer a phone call, how is he capable of working on a transmission that will carry people and cargo down missouri roadways. Avoid this this guy at all costs. Zero respect for a man that cowers like this instead of calling me back and letting me know what the deal is.

My grandson's transmission went out. Called Tony and he stayed late and waited for us to get the car towed to his shop. After inspecting it he found that only the torque converter needed to be replaced and that the transmission was fine. This saved us a considerable amount of $$. Most shops would have charged for a trans rebuild and not even done the work. Tony is an honest hard working man that does great work. Thank you!!

I took my Silverado to Tony because of his Google reviews. And I am glad I did, because Tony is a honest guy and does great work. And has very reasonable prices too. I'd recommend to anyone who needs transmission work to call Tony at Specialized Transmission.

Tony did a great job on repairing my sons transmission on his Toyota truck. He was very detailed on what needed to be done and got it done earlier than expected. The cost of rebuilding the transmission was nearly half the cost of other shops we got estimates from. Very pleased with the work and the expertise and knowledge. Brought a '64 T-bird in to have the transmission resealed, as it was leaking from sitting a lot. Tony found only a pan gasket and inspecion plate gasket that were leaking and was honest enough to let me know that was all the problem, instead of pulling the trans and going through the whole thing. My husband and I brought in our 02 Dodge 1500 after getting told by many Transmission shops that they won t touch it, Tony said to bring it on in for him to look at. It was making a loud whining noise and we thought for sure it needed a new transmission, he drove it and got underneath it and told us it was the overdrive. He had a chance to take advantage of us and rebuilt the whole transmission but instead was very honest with us. What we thought was a couple thousand dollar fix, ended up being less than a couple hundred. We got the truck back within hours of dropping it off, he did so amazing and he will forever have our service! Thank you Tony, we appreciate you!

I have been in garage business 48+:years , used many trans builders,big and small in and around Spfd, Tony use work for Jerry's,since his passing,Tony has opened his own shop,have know Tony 35+ years, I feel he is the best Quality builder in spfd,good parts, Great service,been burned too many other places with little or no warranty!

I was scared to know what was going on with my transmission, however there was no need to be. I was shocked at how affordable my bill was, and he went out of his way to get the part quickly! I dropped my car off and had it back within hours!

I just got my truck back 2 days ago from this shop and I have to say from beginning to end there wasn't a single part of this whole entire process that I was not extremely impressed with! Even before they started working on it after I dropped it off they called me to confirm once again that I in fact wanted them to rebuild my transmission and in the process of doing that they noticed my flywheel was worn down and called me to ask if I wanted it replaced. Not only did they replace it but they did not upcharge me for the parts nor did they charge any additional labor to put that part on! Every person I came into contact with in this shop was extremely kind and clearly extremely knowledgeable! Their prices are more than fair and their attention to detail and customer service was extremely noticeable in comparison to what you get normally these days from other shops! All I know is...I'm grateful I found this shop and I will send every single person I know that needs transmission work to them and will use them again in the future if I ever need to! Thank you guys for all your hard work! My truck drives smoother than it ever has before!
