I was having timing issues with my Land Rover back in May 2023. I contacted Tony the owner of Overseas & Domestic Auto Repair to make sure it is something his mechanic shop is equipped to do and has the ability to complete the repairs. He said he is familiar with the repairs and was instructed to drop the vehicle off with him a week later which I did. Almost 3 weeks went by yet still had not heard from him on the progress. I proceeded to contact him on June 20th and came to find out then that my vehicle was in a hit and run accident. Beyond frustrated and incredibly disappointed to the fact that he didn t even bother to call me to tell me that right away. If I hadn t called him that afternoon, when will he ever let me know? He says he was going to contact the police and also his insurance company. I decided to leave my vehicle there with him while waiting for his insurance company to process the claims. Another 2 weeks had gone by and still had not heard from him nor his insurance company. I decided to stop by to have a chat with him. Tony had informed me then that he was waiting on a tool that he had ordered from Amazon to fix my car. At this point, I very much lost all sense of trust in him and his shop. A mechanic shop that supposedly specializes in import vehicles and was reassured by its owner that he can easily complete the repairs but later found out he was ordering a tool from Amazon. It is apparent that Tony and his shop is not capable of working on something like this. Another week went by, I decided to call Tony up and was told that he s about done with the vehicle and to come pick it up later that day. I picked up the car and by the time I got back to my office, the check engine light came back on. I took it back to him the next day and he messed with it for another day but couldn t fix it. He charged me roughly $750 for the repairs.I later took it to another mechanic who specializes in Land Rover and found out that my vehicle was out of time and the work Tony had done needed to be re-done. I was charged around $500 to correct the problem. My car was finally fixed.I stopped by on 10/3 to visit with Tony at his shop again to go over what had happened. He agreed to reimburse me the amount I paid for the other mechanic shop to fix. He told me he was going to mail me a check. 3 weeks later (10/23) I still had not received his check. So I called him up again asking if he was going to do as he promised. He said the check was mailed last Friday and that he didn t appreciate me calling him that morning to get an update. All these months, I have never received a phone call from him with any kind of updates whatsoever. Another week had gone by and still nothing.Tony and his mechanic shop Overseas & Domestic Auto Repair is the least competent mechanic shop I have ever dealt with. And the level of responsibility and trustworthiness is bar none the worst I have ever experienced.He has even told me I was aggravating him because I called him out on it. Awful experience.

Great garage. Have been dealing with cars and repairs for about sixty years and this is the best garage I've ever been to. Quick and thorough repair at reasonable prices.

They have had my car for 6 months and counting I have paid then several thousand dollars and each time we call it is more excuses. He says I don't understand how hard it is to track the problem down. Seriously? That is exactly why I took my car to the shop. I will never do business here again. Beware!!!!!

Took my Mazda in for a gas leak July 20, 2023. Cracks were found in one of the gas lines. Tony could not find the part in town so he went to get a hose so he could make one, which he says at times that has to be done for older cars. I drove the car for about a week when I had to fill it up and it leaked out on the ground more than ever before. I took it back and he said he would order the part and call me when it came in. I waited over a week and never heard anything. I checked with Mazda and the order had never been placed.Around July 27 the part was ordered from an out of town Mazda dealer and it would take 5 days to get. Today is August 11 and still no part. I tried several times to call Tony the last 3-4 days and he doesn't return my calls. Finally went somewhere else and got it fixed in about 5 hours. Contacted Tony and told him to cancel the part. So I just lost $395.00. No recommendation here.

Great business and I will be back for any car repair needs. My car was easily diagnosed and Tony attempted to save me money by cleaning a part, but it was too far gone and had to be replaced. Honest and efficient.

They re nice, but if you have an Audi, I recommend taking it elsewhere. The check engine light on my Audi is on and I took it to Overseas and Domestic to diagnose. They were unable to determine the cause behind the code, but did charge me $64.60. While I would have been happy to pay the fee if I had a resolution, now I m out the money with no solution. As a person who lives paycheck to paycheck, this was a disappointing experience, but I know that God will provide.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Awful customer experience with the owner Tony and did not even get the car looked at explained to him on the phone what was needed and was told that he could do that he would just have to have another shop come and do it which was kinda weird to think a shop having another shop come do it but whatever. Was told it would be a couple hundred dollars and he could have it done today if we came up now but when we got there it and was explained that what we discussed on the phone he was NOT going to hold up his end and he was NOT gonna mess with it. We have a 1988 Toyota pickup that is our shop/parts truck and it was having some issues. We had a customer recommend Tony s shop. Tony diagnosed the problems and promptly fixed them. Our little Yota is running great!

Called Tony on a Monday to diagnose on a steering wheel/rack and pinion/gear box issue on a Mercedes Benz. Told us to have it towed on Tuesday, but only in the afternoon because he didn't want too many cars in his parking lot. Told us he could start working on it Wed morning. Had it towed there and he told my husband that he didn't know when he'd be able to get to it and then told him and the tow truck driver that he can't help them because the tow truck driver could not set the Benz down in the spot Tony wanted it dropped because the wheels are locked sideways. Tow truck driver apologized to my husband for Tony's behavior and recommended another shop. Don't expect good reviews when you're rude. Thanks.

If you want an affordable, knowledgeable and honest mechanic then Tony is your guy. Tony as well as his staff know exactly what they are doing and they are all very nice. Delbert s vast knowledge of vehicles is incredible, and he s a very caring, sincere and respectful individual who s been very good to work with over the years. He s always upfront and honest about what our vehicles do or don t need, and communicates that to us every time we ve needed work done. Highly recommend using them.

We have been happily using Overseas Auto for our truck maintenance over the past 5 years. Now that Tony and his crew are running the shop, I get the same professional service that I did with the previous owner.They will not perform work that is not needed, but will alert you to any issues that you might not be aware of.Always treated as a valued customer.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Air conditioning, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

I brought a car to them for diagnosis. I was told a $95 diagnostic fee. I gave them a detailed history of repairs and what happened when it died. I explained that the timing was just done and that i thought it might be related to that work. I was told it would take a couple days. One month later I get a call to tell me that their best guess was that maybe the new timing tensioner locked up but the only way to know for sure is to remove the timing cover and that would cost more money. The mechanic also noted some "engine noise" wich may be loose lifters and they want to take the valve cover off too. When I asked about the $95 dollar fee to diagnose the issue not covering turning any bolts I was told he was hoping it was going to be "easy" to see. He had hoped he could pop the hood and give a quick visual inspection but said he didn't see anything. When i brought the vehicle home the first thing I did was pop the hood. The first thing i notice is the bolts on the cooling fan coming out and the fan wobbling all over the place, hence the engine noise. The second thing i notice is the ac compressor belt is severely burnt. This was caused by the compressor locking up, the real issue. Bottom line is I paid $95 and waited a month for a visual inspection that didn't even produce the diagnosis that was visually identified in my driveway without turning a single bolt. Waste of my time and money.

It s 530 on a Friday evening and Tony is staying late to finish my fuel tank replacement.Went in for a fuel pump , Tony found a hole in the gas tank. He worked tirelessly to find me a used tank to save costs.Great crew, excellent service.Thanks Tony and crew

Honest, informative, and they REALLY do their best to work with you! I misdiagnosed my own car situation, so they said they could take a look. Gave me the full and honest rundown of what I really needed done, and they even begun work the same day. I'd expected to have to come back at another time.As for working with YOU, they're super understanding of my schooling and work schedule that I'd told them, even offered to help me get to and from work while the car would have been worked on.Can't think of a better find in Springfield!

Seriously the only place in Springfield that I will go for any car problem or question I may have. All of the staff is super friendly, but also very real. You can trust that they genuinely want what s best for you, and aren t trying to scam you out of money. Great guys!
