2012 bmw x5 35i- a few years ago the owner did my oil filter housing and idler pulley. He wrote on his receipt that he cleaned up the oil spilled as well.My car was running rough after that, and the owner told me I just needed new rotors. I purchased new rotors and the sensation didn t go away. I called and asked the shop to inspect my car and the owners wife who answered the phone accused me of lying about my car shaking, told me she was mad at me for buying rotors elsewhere, and refused to let me speak to my mechanic. While parked at Walmart (a few weeks after import specialists did the work) the oil filter housing leaked on to my belt, and the belt slipped off my car and got sucked in to the crank shaft causing sparks under the car and smoke came through the vents.I had it towed to the dealership. Dealership diagnosed a leaking oil filter housing dripped on the belt and it slipped off and got shredded by the crank shaft. I had to pay for another oil filter housing, install a new idler pulley and belt, seals, and the labor to pick pieces of shredded belt from my engine. It cost a fortune. All of this is written on their receipt. They specifically said the oil filter housing leaked on to the belt. The oil filter housing I just paid import specialists to do.Import Specialists refused to take responsibility, and refused to refund anything as well. Instead they tried to attack my character, and blame everything on the fact that I am a woman, so I don t know anything . They were extremely dishonest. They also sold me 6 spark plugs and a coil back then, but it doesn t show up on carfax, so another shop recently accused me of never having it done. I have my receipt. I have all of my receipts. I am happy to show them to anyone who wants to see. These people were awful to me, the rude wife that answers the phone wouldn t let her husband inspect my car and all that damage happened. Very unprofessional. I will never forget how awful I was treated. I do not recommend these people to anyone. Thanks

This place can always get me asap when I need repairs. They've helped me save a ton versus going to the dealer, and I trust them to do any work on my Benz.

Dealership misquoted me, said I needed a new transmission on my Porsche and went here for a 2nd opinion. Turns out my transmission is fine but my motor mounts were not. Found a few other things that my $1,000 pre buyers inspection at the dealership did not. Ted is cool, good spot.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Had repair done on older car..it is running very well...they left some lines open..and now my headlights don't work... I think they are well qualified...be certain to ask for an estimate before going too deep.. I had to flip over on my inversion table to shake out all the change

Extremely rude secretary. I can count how many times in my life I ve been hung up on by a business and this as one of them. If their customer service is as bad as the secretary they have answering calls I wouldn t even let Import Specialists work on my power washer. Two thumbs down.

2006 BMW 325i. Went with import specialist because they're supposed to be the best BMW specialists in town. Got a transmission fluid change and a general maintenance overview. Everything was fine with the car. And the transmission now shifts like butter, but $650 for a transmission fluid change seems like a stretch to me...Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenanceServices: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

I wish that I could give Ted and his team 10 stars instead of 5!!! I live in Texas but i was in Springfield because of a medical emergency situation with my dad. The thermostat on my Fiat went out while I was in Springfield. They were actually booked up for two weeks in advance for repairs, but after being told what was going on with me, Ted and his team were able to quickly get my parts in, get my car fixed, and get me back on the road. They were able to fix my car for $200 less than what it would have cost me back home in Texas. Plus they originally said that it would be 3 hours to fix my car. It didn't matter to me how much time it took, I just need it done. But it only took them an hour and a half!!!! Ted and his team were extremely friendly, quick, efficient, professional, but most of all they were compassionate to me when I was in a bad situation. I can't thank them enough for going above and beyond to help me out and get me back on the road so that I got home safely!! They are so awesome and beyond amazing people!!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance

Competent Mechanic. Took my older Mercedes to Import Specialists after a poor experience at another recommended import mechanic. I talked to Roger, the mechanic that was to work on my vehicle, and was impressed with his knowledge. I wrote a list of 4 problems and left my car. Frank called and told me exactly what was needed for each fix and the price. We decided to postpone work on one of the items and proceed with the rest. Hourly rate was fair and in line with other shops. Two days later the parts arrived and the vehicle was fixed at the quoted price. Fuel problems were gone and the car ran like a top, as promised. I inspected their work in my garage and noticed that they also replaced some small damaged parts in the engine bay without being asked or charged. Very pleased with the service and will return.

I called to have subframe bushings removed from a subframe already out of the car 2 hours before close.. they told me they didn t have time to get 4 bushings out in 2 hours!? Lol & shops wonder why they can t afford to upkeep their shops. Bunch of lazy none working folks I assume. Luckily my tool arrives Monday. I ll have them out in 30 mins max. Lost out on easy money being racist.

They are the best. I've taken my wife's BMW there because of its many issues and they always take great care of me for way less than what Reliable BMW would charge. I always see a lot of car dealers cars there, which tells me that the dealers trust them too. Usually thats because they do good work for a reasonable price.

Very professional diagnosis of a BMW A/C issue. Expedited repair and procurement of parts necessary without unnecessary repairs in a step by step process. Very fair price. Great folks to work with super advice. Could not have asked for anything better. Highly recommend Dave and the technicians there. Thanks.

If anyone looking at these reviews have ever lived anywhere else, or had to find a good European Auto mechanic elsewhere, they will know how blessed we are to have them here in Springfield. The rates and the level of knowledge from this group is unmatched even in large cities.Having said this - please do not take your car here. They are having a hard time finding a replacement mechanic who moved away that will have the high standards they require. And one of my cars are there now. So they are too busy for you ;) ... no - really,, please .. they are there just for me...

I have a 2006 BMW 530 XI Sportwagon that I recently had a transmission service done to. 90,000 miles ago I had one done and these folks charged me a bit over $300. Not bad in my mind for a service that needs to be done every 100,000 miles. The synthetic fluid isn't cheap and the whole pan has to be changed because the filter is built in. Brilliant German engineering....NOT! Anyhow, THIS TIME, the bill was over $600 for the exact same two hour job. I could have lived with $400 and wouldn't be complaining, but over $600 after doing some research is about $450 more then I could have done it myself. Which means plain and simple, they have turned into a "stealership" just like BMW is with their customers. Seriously, I won't be going back. PERIOD. They have lost this customer for good. Nice job guys. As for the other repairs...well, I'll do them myself too.

I had the check engine light on in my Mini so I ran it by Import Specialists as I had had a repair done there before and they were so honest and reasonable. They did a diagnostic on the car, found the little problem, fixed it and did not charge me anything. I will never take my Mini any where else. These guys are the GREATEST !!

We needed an oil change and general check-over of our Mini during the cold spell. Everyone was so nice, hospitable, and knew their cars! We will be return customers, for sure.

Went in thinking I had a bad shock or mount, turned out to be my lug nuts weren't properly torqued down by my tire shop. They saved the day! If I'm back in town I will definitely be going back if I have a problem!!

I've never actually used Import Specialist for anything myself. However, my boss does. They are always so friendly when they call our office, and always seem to be on top of everything. They take care of him quickly every time.
