Took my truck in to get the actuator replaced. I get it back and the next thing I know, my abs/brake light comes on. Not only do those lights come on, but I have no A/C, not back up lights, no back up sensor and my cruise control doesn t work. I take my truck to my mechanic and I m told it s a wiring issue. I go back to Don s and get an attitude from the old guy at the front desk. They look at the truck and then proceeds to tell me that it s a wiring issue and the it s going to be $80/hr to start to find and repair the problem.They took the dash apart to get to the actuator and I firmly believe they messed this up so I could bring my truck back for them to charge me more to repair what they did.If I could give them a zero stars, I absolutely would.

I didn't even want to give 1 star for this business, however this was the only way to post. The car belonged to my daughter, however she is only 20, so we were helping out. We were referred to this place by the dealership - when I scheduled the appointment for her and explained the issue - the rep said it would cost anywhere between $50 - $150. End result, $235.They deal with the dealership on a regular basis so they assumed they would be paying the tab, so I guess they felt they were going to milk them. They did not call the dealership FIRST to see if they would cover BEFORE doing they repair. They did not call me or my daughter BEFORE making the repair. No parts were ordered, they said that it took 3 hours to open the driver door (it was locked and the lock mechanism must have disconnected).Prior to picking the car up, my daughter called the place to check status and they all were very rude and the lady said they were waiting on parts. But again when we get there, the guy says no parts were ordered and we were only paying labor. In my own experience with dealerships, no repairs are done UNLESS the customer is ok with the price.I felt that they were going to overcharge the dealership and because of what needed to be done, it wasn't under warranty - so they proceeded to milk the customer!!!!! Very dissatisfied with this place and I'll never go there again and I would never refer anyone else there!!!!!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I took my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 to Max Motors because my air conditioner was not holding a charge. It would blow cold about 2 weeks then start blowing warm. They did an evac and recharge with dye and said run it until it stopped blowing cold. I did so, and upon return to the service dept., I was told I needed an evaporator core to the tune of $2004.95. I explained I couldn't afford that and.called Don's. He said bring it on up and let him look at it. He ran through the entire system, explained in detail everything he was checking and why, as well as showed me with the "cheat light", where it was leaking. After all of that, the low pressure valve was not screwed in all the way. That's it. I cannot express how gratefulI am to Don and how much I appreciate his honesty and how professional he is!! I highly recommend him and will be taking all my future business to him.Services: A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

Don't Auto Air is fabulous. Not only are they the only shop I found that works on Motorhome dash AC but courteous staff and experienced technicians that got the job done in a timely manner. Found other problems and expediently took care of them too. I will definitely continue to use Don't Auto Shop in the future and highly recommend this shop to anyone. This company rebuilt my air conditioning system but it did not stay charged with Freon. I brought it back and they recharged it said there were no leaks but it leaked out again. They have totally taken care of me this week!! My alternator went out and they were able to get the repairs done next business day. As I was literally driving down Glenstone a friend suggested them because I was near by. Everyone has been courteous and helpful and I definitely plan to return. Top Notch!!

If I ever need my Car AC worked on again, I'll be going back.I first went to a different shop just down the road to get my AC Fixed, and was told I was going to have to replace my entire AC System for a cost of around $1,500.I took it to Don's to get a second opinion, and it turned out to be a leaky valve, and was back in business for about $100.

Very good work. I normally am very hesitant about trusting auto repair shops. I never had that feeling with Don's Auto Air. I would go back to them without a doubt.

Last summer, this shop charged $75 to look at the a/c on my '89 Volvo 240....they quoted us like $1600 to tear it down and get it working. Ace Auto on College fixed it this weekend for $160, out the door. I think these guys just didn't want to mess with it....didn't stop them from pocketing $75 though.

A lot of great shops in the Springfield area however no one is better then Don's. Whether you need a full overhaul of your system or they just need to make athis guy's been in business forever and they are the best!

Didn't fix my car had to take it to another mechanic then didn't get back to me when I called a week later saying the problem wasn't fixed but I got it to another shop fixed within 3 days thanks for nothing

Hands down, this is the place in Springfield to get your vehicle worked on! The employees and technicians are honest and friendly, which allows for a no-pressure auto repair experience. I tell everyone that I know about Don's and would recommend them to anyone in need of auto repairs or maintenance!

I drive an older 66 Ford pickup and I wanted AC installed. I was told that my project wouldn t even be considered until the fall because they are concentrating on more important vehicles . I guess I ll take my less important buisiness somewhere else.
