A-1 Custom Car Care was recommended to me by one of its customers. He explained to me how thorough and up-front A-1 was before any repairs were made to his vehicle.First experience:I needed repairs to a rusted frame on my 23 year old truck. While explaining to the counter person what I needed a voice behind me ask if he could interject. That voice was one of their techs and he kindly explained that they didn't do that type of service but continued with a lot of great information and explanations. He did not hurry through explanations nor did he dismiss me because they didn't do that service. I left happy upon receiving the info and was able to get the service done by adhering to his advice.Second experience:After being so grateful from my first experience A-1 was first on my mind when I needed additional service on the same old truck. My needs were pretty extensive so they ask if they could do a one time all points check and let me set priorities for what I needed done. After the check, they went over everything line by line with very clear expectations and prices. We made an appointment and had the service completed. The final price was actually less than expected.Every step of the way I knew what I was getting into and there we no surprises at the end.A-1 Custom Car Care actually treats their customers as if each customer was their own Grandmother or Grandfather or Granddaughter or Grandson.These people deserve my and your business because they earn it, not because they are entitled to it.Wouldn't it be nice if all businesses would treat their customers like A-1 Custom Car Care? Go find out for yourself.

A-1 Custom Car Care s the best! Quality is their first priority. They may not be the cheapest but as they say, you get what you pay for and A-1 stands behind their work and service. Staff is amazingly friendly and Annie and Eric in the office are the best! I bring all my vehicles to A-1 and will do in the future. I recommend them to anyone wanting an honest mechanic. Those are hard to find today. The only drawback is that there are no recliners in the waiting room.

Highly Recommend this business! Up front and honest with top notch technicians! They are beyond friendly & accommodating. I will never take my car anywhere else for service. I appreciate never feeling pressured by sales and A1 always looking out for my family and I's safety.

I've taken two of my vehicles to A-1 Custom Car care. Both times they were great, very professional and know how to fix both my rides. I like that they give you estimates on what needs fixed and the let you know what's critical and what isn't. Then you can choose what you want done. I'll definitely go back if needed.

Hello. I was on the road and going back to Colorado when my exhaust decided to blow up a bit. I called so many places and most couldn t take me that next day. Then I called A-1 and they said to bring it by. They were nice enough to let me have my dog in their office. They were able to do a temporary repair so I could get back on the road. Hopefully it won t happen again, but if I m down there and my vehicle has trouble, I ll know where to go. I drove a 97 Lexus Lx 450 that day Thx! Eric

Fantastic folk! Knowledgeable, expedient and so kind! From the front desk to inventory the people here are so ready to help it can be almost startling after some places I've been thats why I continue to only take my car here since about 2020!

I went to have my steering wheel pump looked at and to see why I'm leaking steering wheel fluid and oil leaks. They came back and told me it would be $4000 to fix it. They charged me a 171.00 for just looking at my truck. Took my truck to my regular mechanic and the problems. They said that I was having was not accurate. And the problem that I did have with my vehicle only cost me 427.00. They tried to rip me off if I can give them a 0 star I would. Do not go here

I broke down when my tie rod end broke in a very unusual area. I had it toed to A1. They were very fast getting an assessment, ordering the parts, & getting me back on the road. They kept me well informed during the whole process. My warranty was hesitant to cover the repair, because it was such a rare deal, but they went to bat for me 100%! The warranty people thought I might have went off-roading or hit a big pot hole. A-1 explained that there was no sign of that happening & it was just a part gone bad. Thanks A-1 We have done respectable business with them on my previous vehicle & my boyfriends truck. Won't go anywhere else. Highly recommended

As a person trying to live a chosen life with Jesus as my savior and Lord; when it comes to finding a service, they must also demonstrate like faith and character. This was definitely found with this business family. Even when there was an issue to be dealt with, I felt the proper steps were initiated and pray it is better. Thank you A-1 Team. You did real well. We will see you again sometime. Maybe soon

I had an excellent experience with A-1 when they fixed the flex pipe on my Traverse! They diagnosed quickly and made the repair the same morning. Had I known it would be such an easy process, I wouldn t have waited so long. I appreciate Annie s communication through the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing repair!

Had a great experience with them. The guy at the counter had excellent customer service & we had a conversation the entire time I was there even though he is a Steelers fan he was a very nice guy & I will be taking my vehicle there for now on. GO BRONCOS

Experiencing a vehicle breakdown requiring extensive repair is never fun. However, I am pleased with the knowledge, communication, and outcome received from A-1 Custom Auto on Sunset, close to Kansas Expressway. Annie and her team were helpful and so wonderful! I would use their shop again and highly recommend them!

I have been going to A-1 for almost 8 years now & they without a doubt are the best! They go above & beyond to make sure my car is taken care of, answer or explain anything I don t understand & constantly follow up after work has been done or if I haven t have a service in a while, to make sure everything s up & running perfect ! Highly recommend!

Deleted my previous review as it's come to my attention that A1 only did HALF what they charged me for. They were supposed to redo my front brakes. Apparently they decided to replace 1 caliper, not both and didn't replace either of the pad sets. DO NOT USE THESE RIPOFF ARTISTS. Go find an honest mechanic. I'd rate these scammers 0 stars if I could.

While I don't trust many garages to be honest and top quality, I felt as comfortable as I probably can with A-1 Custom Car Care .Eric J. was very knowledgable and patient, explaining the problems, as to why I needed a full engine replacement, much to my shock, instilling reflected confidence in me and his analysis. (I felt sure it was electronics.) Worse case scenario and breaking down the day before Thanksgiving.RESEARCH:Before doing this survey, I performed an online search for a matching engine, in order to provide a fair opinion, I looked up replacement engines. (Chevy HHR 2007)I was able to find a "NEW" 2.2L Ecotec Premium Long Block Assembly 07-08 engine for $1,850.COMPARISON:Their cost was itemize listed as paid for cost of $2,508.25 before hoses and other parts and regular needed maintenance.Labor was $2,413.80.Along with a $309.18 analysis, ETC.Final cost was over $6,000.( The TECH. listed was C.Wh... )POSITIVES:The engine was brand new.They did get it replaced / finished within one week!They do offer 2 financing options.Their warranties are about as good as you can get.Their itemized list is very informative.They did provide a FREE Uber ride to their facility for pick up.They are very friendly and polite.They do seem to know what they are doing.( We shall hope, pray, see. So far, so good.)-- one week later / since ---NEGATIVES:I feel like the analysis and labor cost is rather high. (Reviewers decide.)I believe reselling or rebuilding my old "core" engine should account for more value (a discount). Not sure if they consider it counted in. (?)I do wish they'd kept more in contact with me, during installation.Overall, leaning toward 3.5 star rating.Not entirely happy $, yet not unhappy.Sad only for the breakdown and many costs and inconveniences. aka "pains".At least my car has that "new engine smell".COMMENTS:Wish more places offered their own FREE TOWING service. $110 "Henry's" used.I believe the distance to be about 3 miles, or only a bit more.In my experience and those of others, shared, once you replace an engine, you can almost expect to have other problems soon start emerging.+Don't particularly care for this survey via Google. Took me to YouTube, first, for some reason. (invasive, IMO!)K. "Hawk" H.SPG, MOIn a SUV.. down by the river.

The staff was very friendly and kept us informed how the alignment job was going. Price wasn't bad at all. I only have one issue the alignment didn't stay true on right side. Went back and they adjusted my truck and keeper at it till it was right. Definitely recommend

Being new to the Springfield area, I was hesitant to take my truck into any shop for a routine oil change A-1 set all those hesitancies to rest immediately! They were thorough in the care of my vehicle, timely in their estimation of length needed to service my car and communicative through the hours they had my vehicle. All in all - I would give more than five stars on this one for sure! Make the call, let A-1 give your car the care it needs!Services: Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

A-1 Custom Car Care is a great place to bring your vehicle for service and repair. Had my front end alignment done and oil changes and have enjoyed every visit. Serviced my brakes recently and had the vehicle at the shop. Got in a accident with my other vehicle and called them and understood my situation. Each evening they took my truck inside and was secured until I was able to get back on my feet and pick it up. Awesome place.Services: Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

They completed the inspection for my car, so I can get the vehicle license renewed. They also did an evaluation of a slight vibration that I could feel in the steering wheel when I was driving They found that the engine mounts were the problem and they replaced them and that fixed that issue. Their customer service is excellent!! My husband is very ill and cannot drive. A-1 provided a ride for me to get back and forth from their service garage to my home. The vehicle servicing is very good and as I mentioned, their customer care is very good too! When the car was in for a routine oil change, they found that the oil pan had some damage and I saw an area on my garage floor that had an spot of oil where the car sits. The spot of oil was right where the front of the car is when the car is in my garage. I told them I saw the oil spot and they replaced the oil pan. The work they have done on my car has been very good.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Harlan is truly the best. "Labor of Love" isn't quite enough to describe the work that he put into helping me restore my old car to working order after years of it sitting in the driveway.My 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale (the "SSDELTA") was my first car, and my dad and I used to work on it together. His dad was a mechanic before him, and this vehicle was how I learned to change the oil myself, change a tire, and do other basic car maintenance. Even when I needed more reliable transportation to and from college, Dad still held on to this car for me and fixed it up so that I could drive it whenever I came home for a visit. There's just something about driving your first car and maintaining it yourself that makes you feel empowered. In my case, it always made me feel a little bit closer to Dad, too.My dad passed away from cancer in 2019, and since that time, I've tried to maintain the car by myself. But after a few years of neglect, the SSDELTA needed a little more TLC than what I was able to provide. I finally broke down and asked a friend for help. She recommended Harlan at A-1 Custom Car Care and promised that he would be the best person for the job. She was right.Harlan gave my old car the TLC it needed. Not only did he completely redo the brakes, he also installed new tires, replaced the shocks, changed out fluids, replaced air filters and wiper blades, and completed the safety inspection so I could renew the plates. Harlan even took the time to track down an oil leak that we never could find the source of. He also fixed the steering wheel alignment AND diagnosed and repaired the high idle. He did all of this over a period of only a few days.Annie, the service advisor, called me throughout the process with updates, explained the diagnostics to me, and always made sure I knew all my options before proceeding with any repairs.The end result? My car turns over immediately and runs smoother than it has in YEARS. I actually don't remember it ever starting on the first try from cold, but it does now. When I'm floating on down the road in this old boat of a car, I feel 16 again and I know Dad is right there with me, grinning from ear to ear.I can't thank Harlan and Annie and the team enough for giving me the chance to drive the SSDELTA again.If you have a vehicle in need of repair and you're looking for someone with plenty of experience, good attention to detail, and excellent customer service, you've come to the right place with A-1 Custom Car Care. Super Friendly staff! Changed my oil and replaced my car battery that was failing for a reasonable price. They even called an Uber to take me home and pick me up when they were done.
