We took a rusted 5.3L LS block and heads to A-1 to clean up and machine. Kyle and his team were awesome to work with. Not only did the machine work come out great, he put together a complete rebuild kit for me with all the right spec'd parts. Plus he has made himself available on multiple occasions for questions as we put the motor back together. These guys are top-notch, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. These guys were very helpful, taking time to look at what I'm doing and reviewing my data that I brought in. I ran my own measurements to be sure whether or not I would need to have my cylinders bored. I took a chance ordering my own tools and while they could have said something that would have led me to believe I needed repairs, they spared me the trouble, cost and didn't even want to charge me for their time today. I'll definitely keep them in mind when I start my next build! Thank you guys! Oh, also they printed out all of the specs I might need to help when measuring main cap & rod clearances.

Call to get a quote on work and can't get any sort of even idea on what it would cost to get work done on an ls. I was told labor rate is 100 an hour and it could take 30 minutes or it could take hours they have no idea. How do you run a business this way? It'd be best to have someone that answers phones and deals w customers to have some sort of knowledge on the business that is supposedly being offered.

Called them about an engine rebuild, prices were competitive, and they came highly recommended by my mechanic. I will be taking my engine block there from my Jeep 4.0 once I pull it.

These guys have always been helpful with everything I've taken to them to have machined. So far... if they tell me it'll be done in 5 days... I usually get it back in 3 days! Sometimes they're really busy so it may take an extra day... but turnaround time is great. So far workmanship has been great. They've always been super friendly. Their new location on 420 s. Cloud is really an upgrade and very nice. I highly recommend!

While doing my project build I ripped a stud off in my valve train and I made it worse trying to fix it and could of swore it was going to need welded. They were able to still extract for a really good price, I ve been to a lot of shops around here and this has been the first to impress me so respect to you guys you rock.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

First and foremost this company repairs engines based on experience vs going by the book. Need to use the proper torque specs if your going to expect an engine to last more then 70 000 miles especially at your prices.Second it is pretty sad when they tell you that you could buy a brand new engine for the price they charge to do work on your engine. I probably would assume that means your over pricing your work when your prices should never over price a new engine otherwise what would be the point to your services.Services: Engine repair, Motor building

In a time where there are multiple companies vying for the same business, the only competitive advantage you have is your customer service. These guys get that!My experience this morning was excellent and you can bet that when I need a machine shop again, I ll head straight to A-1!

Clean and check job for heads was priced well, when it turned out my heads were cracked they called the very next morning, I brought another set in later in the week and had them the next day, clean and looking ready to go back on the car :)
