Tyler Heinlein has always done a great job for me. Even before he started his own business. We re talking about20 years I have counted on his knowledge. Yeah he is busy, and maybe he does commit to more than he can possibly do at the time. That is because he cares about helping everyone and wants to do the best that he can. If you need diesel maintenance, service and or performance work or Any engine building services give him a call.

TL;DR: Good mechanic shop, mostly honest, but doesn't have the proper tools/skills to complete a quality engine build.Tyler and Jacob are both great to talk with. I dropped an LBZ engine off for them to rebuild around November 1st, 2022, they told me it would take 2-4 weeks. I got a call saying it was ready in early January 2022. I installed the engine and followed a careful break-in process, but the rings would not seat. I talked to Tyler several times about it, we tried different oil, running it more, and nothing helped. After 5 months and 6,000 miles, I gave up and tore it back down. The piston skirt wear was noticeable, excessive for the mileage. Cylinder walls were not glazed, rings not stuck, but lots of burned oil.Tyler eventually offered to re-do the machine work for free, but I would still have to pay for ~$1,000 in parts and fluids. I instead decided to get a second opinion from Baldwin Racing Engines, who took a profileometer reading of the cylinder wall. It indicated a finish far too rough. I left it with him to re-hone and repair. He fixed the cylinder wall hone, and on re-assembly found that the main bearing clearance was around .0005"-.001". This is way too tight, and in danger of spinning a bearing. I do admit that Heinlein's machining is excellent to get that accurate on the line honing. Anyhow, Baldwin fixed it, replacing main and rod bearings and piston rings as well. All this additional re-do work cost almost the exact same as the original bill from Heinlein's. Ironically, together they add up pretty close to quotes I got from other local engine machinists. Guess you do get what you pay for.I obviously wasn't happy and wanted to present Tyler with the cost to repair and option to make it right. So I stopped by today with info in hand. Jacob informed me that Tyler was already gone, but before I left I looked in the open side garage door, and there was Tyler. That lying was the final straw for me.Below are pictures of the bills and the engine.

10/10 would recommend to anyone needing diesel repair or any other engine work, performance or just basic maintenance. Had my truck diagnosed and parts on order under 30 minutes.

Excellent place to get you truck repair done. Owner is super nice and someone who will spend a few minutes and go the extra mile without burning your pocket. Great people that know there stuff.They are always packed but any good shop should be. They got our truck in and out within a week and found out the previous shop we was using charged us a lot of money for work they didn t even do. Thank you heinleins for catching that and saving us money I highly recommend and will continue using these guys. Heinlein's Diesel is the place to go for all your diesel problems, in my opinion. Answered every question I had. They were also upfront with their prices. Even called me when they found other issues we had not previously discussed. 6 's!

Great people, the owner himself came out and fixed the problem I had himself, to help get us on the road again. Came all the way from North Carolina to Branson Missouri due to my father passing away. Went to Heinlein's and spoke with Jacob with a few concerns I was having. Jacob spoke with Tyler (the owner) about my situation. Tyler said that he would get me in to make sure my trip back would be less of a headache than the drive here. So he put one of the hardest working mechanics ive ever met. And I will have to say Dalton is one jam up mechanic. They got me in and out in no time. So with that being said I HIGHLY recommend these guys. Top notch customer service, and unbelievable amount of knowledge that backs up the Heinlein's name. Tyler and his crew are hard working, very knowledgeable, and great to deal with! They rebuilt a transmission for me years ago and turned out amazing! They done all the regular maintenance and never tried steering me toward anything I didn t necessarily need! The absolute best customer service and prompt work I ve ever received at a shop in over 20 years of dealing with Automotive Shops. I purchased a truck near Rogersville and after driving away noticed the coolant temp rise and fluctuate, this was really concerning as I had a 1200 mile drive back home. So I stopped in at Heinlein at 4pm on a Friday, Tyler the owner and his mechanics not only fixed the problem right away but made sure to check the rest of the truck for the trip and gave me pointers with a couple products for the road and that piece of mind is priceless to me. They ve definitely earned my business and I highly recommend them. Thanks guys!

Tyler and his guys are top notch. Known Tyler for years and he has also been my go-to for any machine work I have needed. Great to now have their top notch diesel abilities and machine shop under one roof.

They were very helpful. Buddy has been even having tractor trouble and they were more then helpful in helping and advising him. Will definitely go back and would recommend anyone if u got diesel problems head there

Came in on Friday the 23rd at around 1:30 pm. Nobody was up front. After standing there for a few minutes I went back to the shop area I walked into the shop area there was no trucks in the shop. Everybody was standing around a table eating. They just looked at me like deer looking at headlights. I shrugged and said nobody is up front. Still just starring at me. I then say I need to bring my truck in. One guy says ok. Still eating he walks to the front. Up front I see at least 40 serves tickets. I wonder how many people would like it if they knew there wasn t anything going on in the shop on a Friday. The guy is still eating his wing and trying to find a pen. He tells me that I can bring my truck in on may 18.
