Uniquely decorated quarters in a converted brick schoolhouse with a bike shed & free WiFi. Set in a converted brick schoolhouse, this B&B is 2 blocks from the Katy Trail and 5.8 miles from the Diana Bend Conservation Area. There are 11 rooms in the main house decorated in traditional style, and 2 homey "dormitory" rooms with bunk beds and minifridges in an adjacent house. All have private bathrooms, free WiFi and cable TV with DVD players. Most schoolhouse rooms have an electric fireplace and some have jetted tubs, microwaves and minifridges. A hot breakfast is served to schoolhouse guests; self-serve breakfast is provided to dormitory guests. There’s a secure bike storage shed with an air compressor and tools.

Loved everything about the place but the thermostat located in the hallway. After riding 25 miles on the KATY trail in 90+ degree temperatures my wife and I were really looking forward to a shower and air conditioning. We got a shower and a very hot room. I suspect that the manager turned the AC in the room up to save money and forgot to turn it back down when we booked the room. The room had great instructions printed out that didn't mention the fact that the thermostat was out in the hallway. The breakfast was outstanding and when I mentioned that the fact that the room was very hot, the fellow serving breakfast went out of the room for a moment and came back saying that somehow the thermostat in the hall was turned off.The room was beautiful, the bed was nice, the whole place was wonderful and all that was messed up by a sleepless night in a sweltering room preceded by a 25 mile bike ride and followed by another 25 mile bike ride.If you decide to stay at the School House, be sure to check around in the hallway if your room is to hot or to cold.No effort was made by the staff to make up for the non-functional AC. I would have at the very least expected a credit on a future stay.

Been wanting to stay here since one of my best friend s from childhood purchased it in 2020. Even with my high expectations, it exceeded all of them! Andy and Chandrika are the best hosts. My significant other and I can t wait to come back. Rooms are cozy and comfy and breakfast is YUM! The entire property is great. Definite must if you are visiting Rocheport (such a cute town) or looking for a place to stay in close proximity to Columbia.

We have stayed twice now within the span of a month. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a stay near Rocheport/Booneville area. I forgot some formalwear the first time I stayed and the owners were gracious enough to keep them for me until I returned a month later. This last time we stayed we brought an extra person and Andy was more than willing to swap rooms to one with two beds that would accommodate the extra person. Oh, and the breakfast, nothing less than a chefs kiss critique! If I were able this would be a 6/5 rating! We look forward to the next time we visit the area!

The building itself is beautiful. The high ceilings and tons of natural light make the rooms feel massive. The room we had was the Schoolmarm and it was adorable. I loved dark floral wallpaper and all of the furniture. The bed was cozy! Would love to stay here again.Rooms: The rooms had very high ceilings and tall windows. They were decorated nicely, pulling you back to a different time.

This bed and breakfast absolutely exceeded our expectations. The owners are wonderful people who work hard to ensure their guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay. I typically don t sleep the first night during a stay, but I sure did here. The bed and sheets were exceptionally comfortable. We enjoyed the BEST breakfast ever that morning. Absolutely delightful!!

The schoolhouse accommodations were updated and clean. Beds were comfortable, sheets were fantastic. We liked having the louvered windows in our bedroom. Breakfast was excellent every morning. We enjoyed keeping our bikes in the bicycle shed in back and loved having the air pump available in the shed to add air up right before heading out on the Katy trail. The trail was a short distance down the street.Chandrika and Andy we great hosts, we ll be back.

Located in a very quiet town just blocks off the Katy Trail. The grounds and building were well maintained. The place was spotless. The sheets smelled so good as you sunk into a very nice bed. The breakfast served at 9 was outstanding and even filled my husband. The host was very accommodating. For my first time at a bed and breakfast I am very happy to have chosen this one.

A wonderful historical building where school grades 1-12 were taught for decades. The decor of school days gone by sweetly recalls personal school day memories. We stayed in The Spelling Bee room which was convenient and comfortable in every way. Homemade cookies that afternoon were delicious but nothing compared to the breakfast the next morning of baked quiche, butterscotch and glazed muffins and apples and blue berries in a fruit glaze. Adam even served breakfast early for us so I could get an early start on the Katy Trail. Stay here and I think you will be glad you did.

We found a little piece of perfect in Rocheport, MO! Weary from traveling cross-country for eleven days, we wanted to find somewhere other than a hotel to stay the night. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating of our last minute reservation and late arrival on a Sunday evening. The property was nostalgic, peaceful, and pristine; our room was clean and comfortable - we slept like babies; and the breakfast was heavenly. If you are traveling anywhere in the area, don t choose to stay at a hotel, pick the School House. You ll be planning to stay there again before you leave.

We stayed there two nights and it was great! Thee owners were new as of Friday Sept 4th and we were there the 5th and 6th and they seemed like old pros.Rooms were large and private and had all amenities we needed. The breakfast was great on Saturday and on Sunday because we were leaving to bike home they made a tray of fruit, orange juice, yogurt and muffins - it was perfect for our ride.We will be staying there again !

Schoolhouse B&B is hands down, the best bed and breakfast I ve ever been to. The room was spotless and so comfortable and unlike other B&B s, I felt like we had plenty of privacy. The grounds were beautiful in this quaint little town. We stayed two nights and each morning breakfast was a different culinary masterpiece. Andy and Chandrika were perfect hosts, who have thought of everything. We will definitely be returning sooner than later. Thanks,The Wieman s

Where to start? Everything was wonderful. Check in was simple. The place is beautiful and the owners are incredibly nice. Breakfast was really good both days my wife and I were there. They have thought of so many little things as well. It rained on one day and we didn't bring umbrellas but they had several at the front door. They are very centralized in town so everything is just a couple blocks away. We will definitely be looking for an excuse to go back. I highly recommend this place for a fun and relaxing carefree stay.

We enjoyed our stay immensely, Mike and Lisa were patient and kind hosts. They seem to genuinely take a personal interest with each of their guests. And at the same time, there was plenty of privacy.. The accommodations were clean fresh and all the conveniences of home. I even gained some great ideas for streamlining our own home. Our room was elegant beautiful & roomy. We love the shower.. The morning breakfasts were delicious... we will come again!!!

My dusty cycling friends and I shared a dormitory room (bunk bed and pullout bed) in the adjacent house and it was terrific. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet with our own bathroom. Our host, Lisa, was gracious and also kind enough to give us a ride up to Les Bourgeois Winery after a tiring day. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it!

Our second visit to The Schoolhouse did not disappoint! Grounds are beautiful with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the morning or evening. The rooms and interiors are impeccably appointed... Delightful schoolhouse theming that never crossed over into tackiness! They serve a delicious breakfast and leave cookies in your room every day. The hosts are the perfect blend of accommodating and unobtrusive. This is our first out if town trip during COVID 19 and we so appreciate all their extra precautions. And Rocheport is the prettiest place in Missouri. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Go!

Stayed in the Dormitory, its nice but the rates are high for what you get. Also not super clear from the web site that the dormitory rooms don't come with a full breakfast, just some packaged stuff from the grocery store. This was a big disappointment; after riding the Katy we were really looking forward to a nice, big, home cooked breakfast. The packaged items were pretty meager and didn't come close to fueling us for the morning ride. The $20/person extra charge is hard to understand given the small breakfast provided - at least $15 of that is just extra profit.Replying to owner: sorry, but there is nothing budget about $130 for a small room with some packaged food from the grocery store, that I could have purchased for a lot less than $20 per person. For the record, the juice was three small bottles (maybe 4 ounces?), the muffins were also very small, and the cereal was a very limited selection of those tiny boxes they sell in packages of 12 or something. Even the apples were small. I guess a small breakfast goes with a small room? The truth is I had much better breakfasts at motels that charge $50 for the room and don't charge extra for extra people (really, each guest uses $15 in utilities for a single nights stay? give me a break!)

Very comfortable experience. We stayed for one night in the Teacher's Pet room. Everything was clean and organized. The breakfast was great too, and they accommodated me and my allergies without hesitation. I am very pleased with my stay and will definitely be back again.

First of all -- do NOT let the fact that this inn is a former schoolhouse deter you in any way! It makes for a charming and interesting setting. The inn is tastefully decorated throughout, and each room has a school-related name. We stayed in the 'Honor Roll' room, for example. No, the rooms don't feel like classrooms. The inn is immaculately clean throughout, and the owners seem to have thought of every detail. Forget a toiletry? There's a basket with commonly needed items at your disposal. Would you like a bottle of wine or a beer? They are available at a reasonable cost on the honor system. The common area is well stocked with games, cards, books and DVDs for your use. A few cookies or snacks were always on hand too. The breakfasts were delicious. Our room had ample space for sitting yet was still cozy. The hosts were friendly and very detail oriented. We set out to have a relaxing weekend, without an itinerary filled with things to do, and it was sooo nice to just take it easy. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

This adorable school themed B and B was the perfect place to rest our tired legs after a day on the Katy Trail. Wish we could have spent another night to enjoy all the perks. The owners' attention to details was above and beyond the normal, from the bottles of wine for sale, to the sink full of toiletries to use if you forgot, to the water cooler that would fit water bottles. Highly recommend and we will return soon!

We stayed in the dormitory room which was a perfect fit for our family. Most bed and breakfasts do not accommodate young children so traveling with our four year old and three week old presented a challenge. This b&b was perfect for us! The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained as well as stocked with self-serve breakfast items. The beds were comfortable too, always a concern when traveling. There was also a private bathroom (not all b&b's have private baths) and laundry facilities available (which came in handy during our stay as kids can make unexpected messes). Having our own space while traveling made it so enjoyable for our family on this trip and we're very pleased with our decision to stay at the School House B&B. Highly recommended, especially for families traveling with younger kids.

We had a wonderful stay at the School House Bed andBreakfast. Our room (the Hide-Inn-Seek) was comfortable and clean. The whole building was fun and well-kept. There were cookies to greet us as well as a nice selection of DVDs. We walked down the road to explore Rocheport, so we were perfectly located. The breakfast of veggie frittata, maple sausage, fruit parfait, raisin bran muffin, and orange juice was perfect . I'v been letting folks know about this perfect get-a-way. Would definitely stay here again.

I can t imagine a way to have a more delightful experience than we had with Mike and Lisa and the Schoolhouse BB. The room was immaculate. The hosts were so engaging. The breakfast was mouth-watering. We so enjoyed Rocheport. We have already been on the website to book our next stay. Jim
