I just need to give these guys 5 stars for sure. I have a pain in the butt GMC terrain and they have been so patient with all the issues it has and they always let you know the price up front. The warranties are also wonderful! Dave has been very communicative and helpful in the whole process as well. Appreciate you all & thank you! I ll definitely take my car here for everything.

Very reasonably priced and the customer service was excellent. I had no idea my tie rods were bad when I went in for my inspection, but I certainly felt the difference after the work was done. Thank you all so much

I tried 3 other shops attempting to get a safety inspection and A-1 was the only one that would work me into their schedule. They were friendly, professional and timely. Somewhat rare these days. I will be returning as my automobiles need service.

I unexpectedly had some mechanical issues that were first noticed at my home on a Sunday afternoon, I use my vehicle for business and it is the one and only I have for that and that brought on a little anxiety not knowing how long I would be without transportation that I desperately needed for my business. First thing Monday morning I called around to a few repair shops in the Republic area and the first two places I called told me it would be a week and a half to two weeks before they could service my vehicle and with all the work I had scheduled I k ew that wouldn t work, I then called A-1 in Republic and gave a brief description of the problem to Dave and he said they would need to run a diagnostic test to determine what the problem was and told me exactly up front what the cost for that would be and then would inform me of what else might come after that and told me it might be the next day before they could complete the repair work, to a welcomed surprise he called me Monday afternoon around 4:30 and said the repair had been done and that I was able to pick up my vehicle, thanks to A-1 I only lost one day of work and was able to get back to business the very next day, I was very grateful they came through in a pinch and did not have any extended period of down time and would highly recommend A-1 for car repairs and maintenance, job well done.

Warning!I went for an inspection and my truck had some issues, no problem with that, it's older. They were friendly, however, they quoted me $4300 for parts and labor to fix the problems. I was able to get the parts for less than $600 and did the work myself with the help of a mechanic.I understand parts and labor costs. But they probably could have gotten the parts easier and cheaper than I did. So, the $4300 quote seems absurd. I found that other shops would have done the same work way cheaper.THEN!!!!!After replacing the stabilizers, ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends, upper arms, etc.... for the aforementioned $600, my mechanic found there was nothing wrong with the parts I took out and replaced with new ones.EXCEPT.... we later found that I only had a bad wheel bearing (A-1 missed the mark) which would have been easier, way cheaper, and fixed the real issues in the first place.(I confirmed this with a 2nd shop.)It cost me several hundred bucks and lots of time/ labor to find out A-1 Custom was full of it!Not good!Not happy!Not going back!Update-The response from A-1 to this review doesn't help. Suggesting that I am doing my repairs on a budget just because I don't want to pay for unneeded parts and repairs is an insult. Assuring that their work and parts are middle to higher cost because they are higher quality, doesn't make it ok if the parts and labor are not warranted. Again, I checked with a 2nd shop and two mechanics with a combined 50+ years of experience.

Dave was super friendly and he was able to squeeze my car in on short notice. Other shops in town would not and I really appreciate it. I will definitely be back. Truly legendary service.

I had to get the IDOD form in order to get my vehicle registered and they were one of the authorized providers. I walked in and was immediately greeted. I was there maybe all of 10 minutes and left with the necessary document. They were friendly and courteous. I plan on using them for any repairs on my cars in the future.

Great troubleshooting and excellent work by a fine team of Techs! My truck had quite a few gremlins. Two other shops in the area just couldn t seem to find them. A-1 not only found them, they had several different remedies with actual quotes for me to choose from. The A-1 Team does high quality work and stands behind it!

They did a great job fixing my air conditioner that came in $200 lower than they had estimated me it was done on time as they promised. It's nice to find a auto repair that does what they say they're going to do.

I took my 2011 Nissan Versa in to have the brakes inspected because they were making a squeaking noise that they hadn t ever made prior. After the break inspection I was told I needed new rotors and calipers on both front sides as well as needing new brake lines on both front sides they also said that my emergency brake was completely done and if I used it one more time it wasn t gonna release. I also was told all my struts and shocks were leaking and needed to replace them as well. They also wanted to replace all for tires for 750 dollars this added up to over 5 grand in total. I paid for the brake inspection and took my car elsewhere to find out my front brakes were fine and good for another 30k miles and they cleaned my emergency brakes and said they were also fine. Also turned out that I only needed 1 shock and strut replaced not all of them, and I got all 4 tires replaced for less than 500 dollars this totaled at less than 1000 dollars in my total repair cost,compared to the 5 grand A-1 tried to scam me for. In conclusion, A-1 just wants all the money they can get from you. I also had brought my car in previously to replace the balance bar and they replaced it with a used one from salvage yard when i paid the price for a new one. They re 1.4 review rating on yelp speaks for its self this is a horrible place to take your car.

***UPDATE: Since posting this review we received a call from the manager. After an extensive apology, he asked for details. He assured us that they do take this very seriously and that training will follow for those who did not properly inspect. He seemed legitimately sincere in his efforts to make this right. We will give them another chance, should the opportunity arrise. Thank you A-1 for going to great lengths to ensure that this issue does not happen to anyone else. ***1 month ago we brought our vehicle here for a brake inspection. We were told that everything was "great!" I am now paying $400 in repairs because they were not properly inspected and I now have extensive damage that could have been avoided. I'm sorely disappointed.

I loved this place. The employees were amazing and so friendly. The mechanic showed me exactly what the problem was and was very real with the cost and what would be needed to fix my car. We took my 2003 Windstar in to have it checked out. We had already asked if it cost more than it was worth if they knew of someone that would give a cash offer to junk. It cost way more than we wanted & could afford to fix. The lady that we talked to had already called & the junk yard & she told us what kind of offer we got. Highly recommend for all your automotive repairs. We will be back sometime in the future.

Macy and the team at A1 are second to none. They diagnosed what was wrong with my truck, worked with me on affording repairs, and helped me formulate a plan to get everything fixed. Not only that, but it was cold out and Macy came and picked up my daughter and I from our house a mile away so we didn't have to walk back to the shop once the truck was done.
