They lined bored the block, fit the crank, and reconditioned the rods from a 1929 Ford Model A for us. They also polished the crank for the Model A. Everything was done correctly and we were very happy with how everything was handled. They were very helpful, and their turnaround time was rather quick for this engine. We would definitely recommend them, especially for antique and classic car engines. We will be using them again next time this type of engine work comes up.Service: Engine repair

Russ was extremely helpful with my John Deere crankshaft and bearings. He performed the work quickly at a reasonable price. The shipping was horrible but he assisted me with that also. He is a great guy.

Paul s Rod and bearing is absolutely hands down the best. They are the one vendor I can count on to get the job done both correctly and quickly. Russ has done many sets of connnecting rods and main bearings for me. My local engine shop told me their Babbitt work is the best he s ever seen. I am always getting compliments on how beautifully my own 32 olds runs. I highly recommend Paul s to anyone needing engine work on their antique cars. They have always provided me with excellent service and workmanship on my rebuild parts for my restorations. If you want the best, trust Paul s to deliver it! I met Russ the owner and recieved a tour of their facility. I was very impressed with the organization and it felt like a tour of a machine shop back in the 30's. They re-babbited a full set of main brg shells and connecting rods for my 1930 Pontiac 6-30-8 engine. As a certified red seal mechanic myself I feel I am able to distinguish quality work over poor workmanship. These guys do Quality work. I strongly recommend them.Service: Engine repair

I needed some old engine connecting rods from a 1944 John Deere B re-babbitted. Found this company on the internet and set up the work. Sent them my rods and they fixed them up. They worked great and the turnaround time was good. Not very many places do this type work, but these folks are top notch!

We needed the bearings re-babbitted on a 1928 Chevy Roadster 4 cylinder. This is very difficult to do and very few people do it, because its 'old school' work. We sent the bearings to Paul's and Russ took care of them for us in a very short window of time. We will definitely use this business again.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

It was my first time completely rebuilding the engine in a 1940 john deere model A, I sent my rods and mains out to get rebabbited by pauls rod and bearing and I couldn't be happier. They really helped me out. I gave them my machined rods and mains numbers and they quickly got them poured and sent back to me. They looked spectacular. I had trouble shimming my mains and they helped me through it. With their help I was able to get my tractors engine to better than new condition and ready for the next 80 years.

I needed a rod bearing that Russ resurfaced to the measurements I sent him for a 1940 Studebaker . He went above what I excepted due to the fact it was just one piece which meant a lot of jig and machine work that takes more time than most people do not realize. When I installed it the clearance was perfect. Thanks Russ for going the extra mile for me.Service: Engine repair

I have had Paul's do babitt work on connecting rods twice. He did a great job in a timely manor and reasonable cost. This was on a motor that neither I nor he had specifications, but he had enough experience to do the job correctly. It was on a 1923 Midwest Engine that is in a Hale fire truck.

They did a great job applying babbitt for a custom repair on a large rod end for a custom remanufatured hay bailer part. Great communication and everything came back as scheduled with plenty of material for us to finish machining. I do mostly industrial work and when I have another application they will definitely be my go to for the work.

Not many shops do babbit bearings. Pauls did a great job on my 1930 LaSalle, replacing all the babbit bearings. They made it easy handling shipping both ways and the bearings went in with minimal adjustment. Great shop to do business with.Service: Motor buildingService: Motor building
