I came here for tires, shocks, etc. for my motorhome. The folks here went over and beyond for me to handle my problems. I showed up an hour late for my appointment on a Friday with too much to accomplish before they closed. Kevin and Jeff quickly agreed to come in on Saturday morning (their day off) to get me back on the road! I can't say enough good things about them. THANK YOU!!!!

I had the misfortune of a blowout on my big rig yesterday. Lucky for me I was only 7 miles from this shop.They were able to fit me into their busy schedule, and I was out in less than 3 hrs with new tires, brake drums and linings......absolutely incredible service at very reasonable rates.From Stephanie at the service counter to Brandon in the shop, as well as the shop owner who also worked on my truck, it's places like this that make you never want to go to a dealership for work again.Thank you so much for getting me back on the road again!!

Don was amazing at keeping us posted on when our engine would arrive, when they got it into the engine bay and when it would be ready to pick up. The mechanic that worked on my truck was amazing as well. Highly recommend Hwy 36 Auto & Diesel.

My wife and I were traveling south on I 35 south of Bethany mid-afternoon in our diesel pusher RV when it began to overheat and we were forced to pull over and shut it down. Fortunately a state trooper came by about 5 minutes later and gave us a business card for Hwy 36 Auto and Diesel. I called and explained our issue and they dispatched a service truck to see if the matter could be resolved onsite. It was determined that the A/C compressor had seized up and the serpentine belt broke. Both would need to be replaced at their shop. The tech immediately began calling around to find the right parts and was finally able to locate one in Kansas City and one in St. Joseph. He arranged for both to be delivered to their shop the next morning.Fortunately we had friends following us in their vehicle and we were able to hop in with them and travel on to our destination in Kansas City. The tech made arrangements to have the unit towed to their shop, and the tow truck driver called me to let me know when he had hooked up the RV and then called again to let me know that they had arrived safely at the shop, the RV was inside, and they plugged it in so our fridge would stay cold. We picked up the RV the next afternoon and everything is back to normal.I'm incredibly impressed at the response from Hwy 36. They were professional and understood our need to get back on the road quickly. They understand customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing regular or emergency service.

these guys did us right!we asked for a steer tire replacement, turns out the tire was not the issue we had a lug nut issue. 100 bucks to fix. honest and helpful people.

I was traveling to mexico Mo. For holiday and my suv just died leaving me stranded between hamilton and chillicothe .I called my insurance for roadside but come to find out they forgot to transfer that part of my insurance after arguing with then and all it was a good 2 and a half hours out on side of road in heat. A Super awesome state patrol officer 3rd one to stop and check on us gave me Rays # he was super friendly and concernedThey were awesome from Ray who picked ,me my 4 dogs andgrandaughter in his own car ,while the tow driver hooked up they brought us to caseys in hamilton until my kids could come get us from mexico mo,they let us unload our luggage and things before taking suv on to osborn to be fixed checked out they kept in full contact and did a suprer job allof them I have to say they made it seem like the awful situation wasn't near as bad as it seemed.Thank you,Thank you Thank all of you very much! I highly recommend anyone prices were very reasonable as well

We broke down and were stuck on the side of the highway. Not only were they quick to get out there, but they even tried to find a solution at 8 pm on a Saturday night. Unfortunately for us, it didn't work, but first thing Monday they had parts ordered and helped get us back on the road. Very helpful, friendly and efficient!!

I m not one to take time to write reviews, let me start by saying that, however I m compelled to make an exception in this case. I hope nothing but safe travels for all who are in the trucking industry. We have many things to deal with out here. But if your equipment fails you, if your broke down and stranded and need mechanical care and tow, and find yourself anywhere within the Kansas City, MO area (100mi) hands down there is nobody better than HWY 36 Diesel & Auto Repair/Tow Service.I was stranded on I-70 east near marker 18 for 4+ hours before I stumbled across these guys and let me tell you in hindsight, I m grateful I did .I had a failed power trans/differential problem on my Kenworth T-680 and under load scheduled for delivery in Madison, IL next morning .These guys @ Hwy 36, had me up and running in LESS than 24hrs with a new PT unit and all the trimmings!I was able to make deliver my load (next day) AND pick up my reload in Chicago, IL by the afternoon!If your minds NOT BLOWN then you know what .your not a seasoned truck driver .I was treated with respect and kindness and would HIGHLY recommend this place to ALL my fellow truck drivers!Now if your like me and money is tight .Hwy 36 was reasonable and fair Shout out to Kevin B who owns this fine shop thank you sir as well as to Brandon shop operations manager and top mechanic who stayed at it and kept his cool despite the heat and high humidity!Also to all the other supporting cast Matt, Don, Sylvia I appreciate you all, thank youAnd May God bless all of ya!!Randolph BService: Engine repair

Was referred here by another mechanic, and took my car there. Was to busy to fix but scheduled appointment. Got car there on appointment and was serviced on time as they quoted me, approx 4 hr job. Everything fixed and sent on my way.

Unfortunately, this business has the same issues as most shops. Lack of qualified employees. I'm sure there are times when simple repairs are completed in a competent manner. I will go as far to say that most customers wouldn't know the difference anyway. I am a mechanic: they didn't like me because I found issue after issue that most wouldn't find. That was when the truck was dead on the lot the second time I went to pick it up. I spent $2600 with them and the truck still has the same issue. I will not be spending money at this shop any more. I am sure the owner will try to comment his way out of this review, but I thought I would pass this info on so everyone could make informed decisions about vehicle repair. If possible always repair your own, because you are truly the only one that will care enough to do it right.Service: Engine repair

Update. Took it to a different shop. They had the bolt out in 2 hours and its back together and im driving it. This shop wanted to pull my engine and replace parts. To the tune of over 4k. Ridiculous! People on the phone were nice enough. But lots of miscommunication. Decided to use their tow service because their attached. And had to wait an additional 3 days to get my truck back due to more miscommunication, had me on the phone several times but didn't collect payment until I called in and asked when my truck would be towed back. Which I had asked days ago. Overall I feel I was charged a ridiculous amount and have 0 to show for it.Service: Engine repair

They are the first shop I've encountered that didn't try and pull a fast one on me or my relatives! Truly genuine caring folks. I highly recommend this place. They run a bit high, but the efficiency and pure honesty outweighs any cost! Thank you Highway 36 Auto & Disel for providing my very first honest experience with an auto shop!! Very much appreciated. We were 7 hours from home when we drove over a fire extinguisher that fell from a vehicle. Due to traffic and no shoulder on the side of the road, we couldn t move over. After other exhausting issues with insurance and the rude people they set us up with, we found this wonderful family business. From start to finish they worked tirelessly to help get us back on the road. They went beyond to make sure all would be well! I can t say enough about the warmth and kindness of all the owners/employees/their family who reassured us. And of course the service provided for the car was perfect. We made it home safely and the repair didn t break the bank. Please use this business for your auto and truck needs! You won t be disappointed! (And if you re lucky you will meet the cutest rescue dog and pick up some fresh eggs !)

Brought my pickup to Hwy36 after ruining a set of tires. They diagnosed the problem with the suspension and built me a precise estimate. I approved the work and it was completed in a timely manner. Earlier this month my wife, our 2 dogs and I were traveling through Cameron MO on our way home to Florida. We were involved in a serious automobile accident. Kevin, the owner of HWY 36 Auto and Diesel and his crew, arrived on scene to the tow the involved vehicles. I can't say enough about how great Kevin and his team were. He kept our dogs at his office over night, drove me to the hospital my wife was at which was about 50 minutes away and even called the next morning to check on us. Words can't express our gratitude to HWY 36 Auto and Diesel.

Although they were backed up and had work to do and our was a quick small job, which had us refused from other shops because probably not worth their time, we got here and they said they d get to us within 30 mns and they did. They were fast as assertive with our issue and we were given a very fair price to fix our semi. FYI they do everything, and they go anywhere for road calls, no minimum hours charged. Give them a call you won t regret it. They also have a rescue dog that had been abused so I was double happy to give them my $ . Quick painless repair shop. 10/10 will recommend.

This is by far one of the most honest shops and wreckers around, you won t find a better guy than Kevin. Hands down will never take my equipment anyplace else.

Out of all the places I could have car trouble I'm glad it was near this shop! They went over and beyond to take care of us. After finding out they couldn't get the part for my car that night they actually drove us to a hotel got me a discount and picked me up the next day. Price was awesome and their outlook and positivity really helped me stay calm!

We were traveling from CA to NJ with our camping trailer earlier this month when a leaf spring on the camper snapped literally grinding us to a halt. We were quickly assisted by the police who connected us with HWY36 Auto & Diesel. Brandon from HWY36 arrived promptly and had their flatbed dispatched to pick up our camper and brought to their shop. Although we originally heard parts may have to be shipped in and it could take a few days to get up back on the road that didn't happen. We took a lunch break and when we checked back we found that Kevin Barnes, HWY36's owner, had send his parents to pick up the required parts! He said they would be returning shortly and the work to get us on the road would be completed by the end of the work day. Despite a storm and power outage the work was completed as promised and we continued our trip losing only one day!Thanks again to Brandon, Kevin, Sylvia (who refrigerated our food for us!), and the rest of the HWY36 crew for making a potential nightmare into a truly pleasant experience!Judy and Bill MayServices: Tires, Steering & suspension repair

In the beginning I thought this was a good place to take my vehicle. However after rv was repaired, I got 50 miles down the road! They repaired the rv again, got 7 miles down the road, mechanics came and fixed rv for the 3rd time ,the owner wanted me to pay for, 1/2 the tow! Why would I pay for any part of the tow ! So if you use this guy , be prepared to be overcharged ,and he's not responsible for or stands behind his work.!!! When I went to get rv it worked until I got to wheel mound ,new Mexico. Finally I found someone who repaired the rv. Was charged half what 36 auto & diesel charged. In all I paid 800 dollars for the repairs they never fixed it properly. Ps if you are not a local and you don't want to be cheated or flat out screwed, don't use these people.... !!!

So took my car here to figure out why it wouldn't start. Told me it was a bad terminal and told me it would be $140 for labor and repair. I get my car and it idles roughly something it did not do before. It actually would die while idling and I had to very carefully get to my other mechanic to find out what's wrong. The foreman who worked on my car had unhooked my turbo and was looking at other places in the engine bay looking for problems without asking me and then charged me for it. He neglected to rehook my turbo up which was the cause of the new issues. He then charged me 240 for labor and parts and when asked what he had done he lied and said he only replaced the terminal and was no where else. Don't bring anything to them. Don't waste your money on them. It's like they intentionally make problems so you'll come back and spend more money.Service: Battery

My wife's SUV was broken down in her garage 45 miles from their shop on a Saturday morning. They drove straight to us right after we called and got her car towed to another shop who did the original repairs. That impressed me, they made sure we were taken care of even though the repair work was going to be done somewhere else that time. I'll be using them for repairs from now on.

Yesterday, was a day, I went to there shop an from the start I was treated like we had been friends for years. I told them what I need , point out what I thought was wrong , an what was apparent, a water leak. An ac was leaking freon, they got to it an even Stade after hours , to get the job done. I was driving through Missouri down I-35 when my vehicle experienced trouble. I was able to drive it to Cameron, and got Osborn's number from the convenience store clerk. Kevin from Osborn showed up with his wrecker inside of 20min and took my whole family with him to the shop a few minutes away; he was very polite and courteous. There, the guys diagnosed and serviced the problem, tested the repairs, told me what they did to allow me to get back on the road asap, and what other service I needed done when I got to my final destination. I felt like I didn't wait extremely long and was expecting a huge bill, but was very pleased at the final amount. The staff was friendly and easy to deal with. Thanks for your help!

Definitely owner operater friendly. Been a year ago. Totally forgot to give a review. Came to my rescue and not only fixed the issue but found the source of the problem that my local shop couldn't. Was great to work with and kept in contact while they had my truck. Thanks Kevin and his crew.
