To start, Bob's has been working on my car for a couple of years with great results but I recently made the mistake of taking it to another local shop because they claimed to have free loaner cars and I knew this wouldn't be a 1 day repair. This other shop held my car 4 days without having a loaner for me only to tell me they wouldn't do the work to repair my car because "it wasn't worth it" so I took it to Bob's. I should of gone to Bob's to begin with because they did everything my car needed to keep me on the road safely and running smoothly. It was a long process to get it to perfection but very well worth the wait and every penny and they never made me feel like I was making a mistake by fixing it which I also greatly appreciated. I can't praise this shop and all its employees enough!!! Thanks for all you do and taking such good care of my vehicle

I am going to describe my experience before bobs with another mech shop, and then my experience with bobs.Christian brothers automotive:I knew I had transmission issues, wanted to get some pricing. I had done business with them previously and had good service. They said they couldn t tell me prices without seeing the vehicle, which is bull to start with. But I went ahead and let them check it out, lo and behold, I needed a new transmission, they quoted me 5,000 something.I called around and got several quotes for about 3.2, so I decided to take my truck elsewhere. Christian brothers automotive decided to change me a diagnostics fee .. to tell me what I told them. Thus they will never see another penny from me.Bobs automotive: I called them, told them I likely needed a new transmission, they quoted me, let me drop my truck off before they were ready to do any repairs, they checked it out, fixed it, and charged me the quoted price.Simple and exactly how it should feel when doing business.UPDATE: I am having issues with the transmission they put in roughly half a year ago but they have a 2 year warranty, they fit me in promptly for a diagnostic, and I ll update this with my second experience doing business with them!So far, definitely recommended as prices are fair and customer service has been swift and manageable!

We were traveling through from VA to KC when our truck started having problems. Found Bob s on Google and met them when they opened. Randy went above and beyond to unhook our trailer and move the truck right into the shop to fix the power steering issues. We just can t say enough good things about this team, we were incredibly blessed to find them when we needed them.

Highly Recommend! I waited a four weeks to post because I ve had a loud ticking in my Jeep for a couple months. Several shops have attempted repair and all was well for a week but then the sound would return. The suggested feedback from two shops: engine replacement or a month in the shop to root out the issue. Bob s looked at my Jeep, diagnosed the issue and saved me THOUSANDS! It s running quietly and performing like a new JEEP. I m so happy I trusted Bob s transmission and the service/repair was FAST! Thanks Bob s!!!

This is a fantastic family owned and committed repair facility that seems capable of fixing anything with wheels. The volume of work that I noticed going on was amazing ! The facility seemed organized and exceptionally clean. The amount of time the service manager spent explaining my car problem to me is greatly appreciated. They were so wonderful to work with! We have a Honda 2012 mini van with 143,000 miles. We love our van and want to hang onto it for at least another 1-2 years. I went in with a list of things that I was told, needed to be done by Firestone. Bob s checked everything I asked them to check. They told me that several of the items that they checked were fine and needed no attention, but there were about 3 things that would need to be addressed. I appreciated their honesty and didn t charge me for something that didn t need to be done. I brought it over the evening before and they had it completed the next afternoon. They were very friendly and very good at communicating with us.We will definitely go back!!

Recently had a work van transmission fail and bob s transmission got it working again quickly so I could get back to work. Trustworthy and my transmission comes with a warranty! Eases my mind knowing my work van transmission will be reliable.

If a zero was available that is what we would rank this place. We lost 3rd gear in our corvette and we couldn t afford to get a new replacement so our normal mechanic that we TRUST referred us here for a rebuild. (We will be notifying them as well to this horrible experience so they don t send any more work Bobs way) Anyway, my husband called them on our way over to see if we could just drop it off because it wouldn t have made it back home and back up to shop later. We were told that was fine but they couldn t get to it for a few days which we were ok with. We were told it would be about a week. My husband was verbally quoted a price of $2000. He told them that when they got into the transmission that he would like to talk about options of parts and some upgrades. Over a week or so went by and nothing. We made several trips up there only to see the car had been moved a time or two in the lot. My husband contacted them to see what the hold up was and he was told they would get to it I believe the following day. Several more days went by with absolutely NO COMMUNICATION! Not one single phone call from anyone. Well 4-5 weeks later on Thursday we get a phone call saying our corvette was repaired and ready to be picked up. Uhhhh excuse me? No phone call to go over actual repairs? They just repaired it!!!! AND now the cost was $4200!!!! My husband was told when we went to pick it up and try to figure out what in the world was going on that they thought we were just dropping off the transmission!!! Ughhh we called and asked if we could leave the car because it wouldn t make it home and back up to the shop not to mention it was IN THEIR LOT, they HAD THE KEYS!!!! This is the worst experience we have ever had and we will NEVER go back or refer anyone to this place. The staff is rude and obviously they have a lack of communication. No phone call to update a customer? Not to mention who repairs repair a vehicle without approval that is going to be OVER DOUBLE?? Yeah not cool and we will be registering a complaint with BBB as well. After reading some reviews this isn t the first time this kind of thing has happened. A vehicle being repaired without approval? What kind of shop does this? SHAME ON YOU!! We were for sure done dirty, stuff is rude. So many people in the hot rod and car show world we have already talked to about this just can t believe we weren t notified before repairs were made with such a large discrepancy in price from our verbal quote. A friend of ours had their transmission go out in there hot rod about same time. They got theirs back in like 2 weeks BRAND NEW transmission and for LESS than what we paid. We were actually quoted a price for new transmission for less than what we paid for this rebuild or whatever. What a joke!Update : in response to Bobs Transmissions comment WE, the customer, DID contact you directly and NOTHING was done to try and help except make excuses. Everyone that I have talked to are in awww that a shop would complete a job this size WITHOUT making contact with the customer

Bob's rebuilt the transmission in my 2003 f250 about 6 months ago and it has been working flawlessly. The guys are knowledgeable and even included new ground straps so I wouldn't run into issues in the future. I highly recommend Bob's

I took my car in to get a cracked oil pan replaced. The customer service is really terrible, especially the woman who answers the phones. It looks like this shop has more work than it can handle because they take a very long time to just diagnose a problem, never mind actually fixing it. My car kept leaking oil after the oil pan was replaced, and the plastic shield under my car fell half off. I took the car back to get it fixed. No apology, not even any eye contact when I went to pick up. It turned out that the mechanic who replaced the oil plan did a shoddy job and was fired. The woman who answers the phones got a sarcastic attitude with me, telling me that their shop does great work, that's why they're so busy. Yeah, right. So great that you have to fire mechanics for their awesome work. Don't take your car here. Maybe they're good for their long time customers, but if you're new, you won't be prioritized. And you'll leave your car there for two days and nothing will get done. Or it'll be done poorly by a shoddy mechanic they've hired to keep up with their workload.

Not a good experience for me no communication from this location I dropped my car off to get transmission serviced my car didn't receive any attention it sat in the same spot for 3 months I had to get a tow truck to pick it back up and take it back home because they totally ignored my car for 3 whole months

My daughter lives in Creve Coeur while attending college. I live in Illinois. She called one morning to say her car wouldn t start and she she was upset (stressed) It was finals week so that didn t help. Two years ago when I bought my condo I received a flyer in the mail from Bob s welcoming me to the area. Glad I saved it. I called the minute they opened and the woman I talked to was really helpful. If I remember correctly she mentioned her daughter lived in Nashville so so she understood the need for helping from a distance. They came and got the car started, took it to the shop, fixed the car and brought it back all before my daughter was back from school. Highly recommend using Bob s for any of your vehicles needs.Service: Battery

I can t say enough about the people at Bob s. While traveling across the country, we had issues with our Sprinter van. After going to 4 shops across 3 states with no resolution and feeling hopeless, we found Bob s. They got us in immediately and ordered parts needed. We had to wait for 2 days for the parts to come in and in the meantime, they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and a place to stay. It s tough to be broken down out of town where you don t know anyone, but James and Jodie and the rest of their crew made us feel like family. Their friendly, honest service and bending over backwards to help us get back on the road made a difficult, tough situation better and even allowed us to have some fun in the process. It s refreshing to meet such kind people, and they genuinely know what they re doing so we were able to get back on the road quickly. A huge thank you to the whole team! I can t recommend them enough.

High integrity auto shops like this are few and far between. We have had the pleasure of Bobs service for all our vehicles over 12 years. In that time we have had NO bad experiences. In fact, Bob's has saved us thousands in repairs compared to shops like Dobbs where you can't even trust only the requested repairs are done. Bobs will even squeeze you in if you aren't in a big hurry. Everyone there are like family so you don't have to worry your repairs won't get done at the lowest price. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Toyota told us our transmission was shot and the car was unsafe to drive. They also said we could pay $10k to fix it or they d give us $1500 for our car that is worth more than $20k Luckily we brought the car to Bob s and they told us there was nothing wrong with the transmission! Bob s replaced the rear struts and tires for a reasonable price and the car feels brand new! We are very grateful to have a company that treated us well and was honest with us. I had noticed before we took the car in that we would need tires before winter, and we can tell that the car rides a lot better now with the new struts, so Bob s didn t try to up-sell us at all. We will never bring a car back to that Toyota dealer, but will definitely be back to Bob s!

The guy in the office area wouldn't look at my car after telling him my oil pressure was low. He instantly said I needed a new engine. My engine only has 130k on it. I went to firestone and paid them 190 dollars for them to replace my oil pressure switch, and now my car runs like before. Firestone saved me thousands of dollars.

I took my 1963 Buick Riviera to them for a transmission overhaul. The Dynaflow is a rare transmission that no one else wanted to repair. They did an excellent job, even though the original pan gasket was defective and leaked. I took the car back to them and the leak was immediately replaced. No leak anymore and the transmission operates perfectly. Their shop is very busy, but there is a reason--quality workmanship and quality customer service.Service: Transmission
