I've never been taken advantage of by a shop so badly. I was working out of town when I had some computer issues with my car. I brought my vehicle here and they charged me to let them vandalize it.I have a Chevy Malibu, it was my everyday day driver. It ran great until i went out of town and the computer started to intermittently lose power, causing the vehicle to die while driving and/or a no start situation. When it did start and drive it still functioned perfectly. I had my car towed here for diagnostics and repairs because it was the local chevy dealship in that area. After having the car for a week McCarthy Chevrolet charged me $800 for diagnostics and labor, no parts were put on. They told me it was fixed and that it was safe to drive again. I made it less than a mile down the road when I stopped for lunch, and the car would not start again. They refused to give me any money back and insisted they try again to fix the car. They told me they wouldn't charge any additional money to try again. They looked at the car for a few more days, lied about why it didnt start and vandalized my car. He told me my starter wire was loose and thats why it wouldnt start after i had left the dealership. My starter wire hasnt ever been disconnected unless he disconnected it while trying to perform diagnostics. The vandalism i mentioned was that the mechanic cut the sleeves of the outer wires on several of my wiring harnesses. Some cuts were visible and some he tried to hide. The hidden damage he covered up with cloth tape, which will hold in moisture on the exposed wires, speeding up the corrosion process. Then he diagnosed the wrong part to be replaced (an entire fuse block), but I refused further work on the vehicle once I saw these blatant damages by a clearly incompetent mechanic. He didn't fully reconnect the plug for my BRAKES and left the housing off of the brake plug, sitting under the hood. He put a screw in my headlamp to secure it in place so he could pass my safety inspection, which isn't allowed and I didn't ask him to drill a hole in my headlamp assembly and core support. I had already purchased new headlamp assemblies that were still in the box in the trunk of the car while it was there because I knew that connection had cracked and broken due to heat and weathering. Instead of telling me the inspection failed due to a broken headlamp assembly, he took it upon himself to drill a hole in my core support and rig it with one screw. Once I got my vehicle back, I had it towed home (3 hours away). I replaced the fuse block the mechanic at this dealership had diagnosed to be bad, and that didn't fix the problem. Now my car is at another Chevy dealership and they are charging me $600 to fix the wires the mechanic at McCarthy Chevrolet vandalized before they can attempt to diagnose the computer connection problem my car is still having. Obviously, having exposed wires is an issue that will cause further computer failure. They clearly do not have a knowledgeable mechanic, because a knowledgeable mechanic would not diagnose a computer issue by cutting wire sleeves and stripping wires and leaving them exposed. The work was rushed, sloppy and performed incorrectly. My safety was not a priority to these people as they knew the computer issue was causing the vehicle to die while driving. The mechanic stated in my service ticket that he "repaired and replaced" my wires. That is a falsified document because nothing was repaired or replaced and further damage was done instead. I spoke with the floor manager and the service department manager. They refused to give me my money back and now I have to pay another Chevy dealership to fix the damages McCarthy Chevrolet caused. Im sharing one picture of the damaged wires here. This picture was taken shortly after the vehicle was towed from this dealership. McCarthy Chevrolet, are you willing to reimburse me for the repairs your mechanic charged me for and the damages your mechanic caused?

The actual work done on my vehicle is so clouded by my experience at the register, that I can t rate the work done! I was hit with the new 3% charge for credit cards, which I understand but was frustrating and I like to avoid it if possible and if I know in advance, I plan accordingly. Anyway, I said to the person behind the counter, which was the same person that was working in the service department ( they must multi task there!) that I might have cash a or check book in my truck, which by that time had been moved outside, but I didn t know for sure or I could run home and grab a check book and drop a check back by as I only live a couple of miles from dealership. I was told that no one is allowed to leave without paying the bill. Since she didn t tell me that I could leave to check for money in my truck and was intent on charging my credit card, I had no other choice but to pay with a credit card and the 3 %. I m not a deadbeat and wasn t trying to avoid paying. After I got in my truck I found more than enough cash to cover my bill along with a checkbook in my console. I can t begin to describe how frustrated I was. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I doubt that I will return to the dealership for future work. Rick Ball Chevrolet isn t that far away and has treated me well in the past. I would recommend them.

Jim and Mike were both very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Everything was presented honestly and clearly, they answered my millions of questions with patience, and I enjoyed talking to them while waiting. There was no pressure, the environment was very relaxed, and it was an overall smooth, enjoyable process. My wife and I will return to see Jim and Mike again in the future when it's her turn for a new ride.Shameless picture of the beautiful 2020 Jeep Gladiator I bought from McCarthy. These guys helped me rediscover my love for Jeep trucks, and I look forward to many years of enjoyment out of it.

I called and made a oil change appt Kelly offered me 8am, 10:30a and 3p I took the 3p and then even verified it was 3p got to appt and it was for 8a and then had to wait hour and half for oil change and then was to only do oil change but did a tire rotation as well not very pleased as I wasn t the one who took my car in to have service done then to find out they messed up time and applied extra service that wasn t asked for. I mean I am sure this is a great place to get any type of service done but going off my first experience it wasn t well.

Had one of my inner duals go flat on my 2022 3500HD. Decided to have the dealership check it out long story short, they managed to break the sensor on the opposite set of duals inner tire. They took complete ownership for it. Did not have the part had to order it they were good enough to give us a really nice loaner truck. Every experience we have had with McCarthy Chevrolet has been a very positive experience. If we have any more issues, we will return to McCarthy Chevrolet.

Got my oil changed last week, had a great experience. The shop was well kept and free of clutter. Staff/techs were very nice and professional. My truck was done way faster than expected and they even pulled it up front for me. I believe the managers name is Damon, he seems genuine and honest. Will be back for more work.

Fun, friendly, and helpful group to work with! I dealt with Ed Chapman as my direct Sales Rep/Professional over the past 3 weeks to obtain my new vehicle. His coworkers and GM made it very easy through the purchasing process! Happy new year and thank you McCarthy.

Supposed to have some free oil changes per my contract. Got my first one this week and they charged me for misc, they said it was for rags, floor dry, etc. I argued that I had free oil changes and they said you did get a free oil change. Guess maybe the definition of free is different for McCarthy of Marshall. 2nd I bought an aftermarket GM key and asked that they program it, they said they tried for an hour and half with no success and charged me $158 for something they couldn t do. I am not happy with service. Reason for buying aftermarket key was they wanted $350 for key and programming. Aftermarket key sent back from where I purchased and they are paying half the $158.

Fast scheduling. Great service. Awesome mechanic (plus he is a veteran)!!!I m from a Chevy Truck family. We buy Chevys because we know we can beat them up. Treat em like dirt. Don t give em any TLC (outside the occasional oil change that doesn t happen on schedule) and they will still start and get you from point a to point b. Typically with no major issues before 200k or at least a decade (whichever comes first). So I know they re good trucks and the reason I trust spending 50-70k (probably more now) on one.My 2014 Silverado recently started having some issues cutting out while idling. Wasn t bad enough to throw a light but it was enough to make me wonder. I had all of my buddies look at this. We checked the dang o2 sensors. Checked for leaks. Spark plugs. We did it all. I finally agreed to take my ole girl in for one of those safety recalls and while I m being dropped off (I didn t have a ride home) the mechanic almost immediately recognized it. So I scheduled an appointment for him to take a look after the safety recall fix and sure enough he solved it. All of my buddies who fix everything they own around their farms. Not one got it. He knew what it was almost as soon as he felt my engine rpms drop. I m a pretty happy camper and will be using them to take care of a couple other things my decade old truck needs. Even at this age though it is some really minor stuff. These trucks are built to last

In our travels to Marshall Missouri to drop of our son at Missouri Valley College, our 2013 Equinox failed to start after an overnight stay in Sweet Springs. After a great local mechanic could not get it started we hesitantly had it towed to Mccarthy Chevrolet. On a Friday afternoon , before closing for the weekend , the service department led by Kelly tried to spare us from leaving the car and going back home to Chicago. Unfortunately we had to leave the car. The fortunate part was Kelly was the best communicator the entire week. She called me with updates and worked with us in every way. A great service department that you rarely find these days.

By far the best experience when purchasing a vehicle! Very easy to work with & no extra hassle. I told them what I wanted and they were able to honor that! I will definitely be returning for all my future purchases! Thank you for your effort and dedication to finding us exactly what we were looking for!
