I worked with Jason Fowler to purchase a new 5.4L for my ford van. Crisp service, answered all my questions, communicated well. Fantastic service relative to other experiences in 2024. Engine looks great, and came with handy hardware that I'd have to buy elsewhere. Haven't installed it yet but I will update this review if it immediately throws a rod or something lol

Gary Stone has been assisting me with a transfer case order for a very important customer of mine. I am extremely impressed with the quality of service he has provided me. He walked me through the steps I needed to complete to order the correct part and has reached out to me when the delivery company couldn't complete the delivery over the weekend. I hope Dahmer Powertrain appreciates him half as much as I do. On top of everything, the delivery speed was much faster than I originally expected.

Let me start by saying I should have wrote this Google review back in 2021. My problem started back in July 2021 when we were 4 hours into our trip to South Carolina ( we live in Michigan )and the lifter blew in our 5.3 Chevy 1500 LTZ. And being that we still were paying for it we were going to fix it. I searched locally, searched searched nothing nothing. 100 mi and more and kept going further out farther out still found nothing. Then came to the realization that one of my local parts shop were selling engines so instead of trying to go through them I went direct and went right to the factory which was Dalmer Powertrain. I I started a quote told him what I needed and within I think a day I got back with Tyler.Tyler went through and found me a rebuild right off the press already done within a couple weeks and got it sent to me no hassles very prompt and professional. Jump to2024 and we hit a deer. Insurance is talking about totaling our vehicle so I had to find all the receipts that I had put a new engine transmission all these different parts and upgrades. The one thing I could not find was a credit card receipt or anything saying that I had purchased it which I later found out through Tyler that they may only keep credit cards for one year. I had the bill of lading, the quote,the receipt from the freight, even the tags from the engine! Everything but that proof of purchase,and this man made sure that I had that receipt made up and for insurance purposes. And I mean within hours he had that made up. And make sure to let me know if I had any future problems with it to let him know and he will do anything that he can to help.Amazing that you'll find something hundreds of miles away and people like that that are willing to help and give you a great deal and a great product. I will be going back to Dahmer Powertrain and Mr. Tyler himself. Thank you.

Bought a rebuilt transmission for my son's 05 ram 2500, only got 120 miles before it shelled itself. Thier warranty replaced the transmisson with another rebuilt one which lasted 1000 miles. I'm not forced to find another transmission for this truck. Don't waste your time or money with these people. Not sure how is building these for them but apperantly they don't know what they are doing.

I needed a new engine for my GMC Terrain and was put in contact with Ryan McGee. He made a very stressful situation easy. A month later after the replacement, my car was leaking oil due to a bad seal that came with the engine. I contacted Ryan and he put me in touch with the warranty department. Even though he didn't deal with my warranty claim, he took the time to check in on me and see how everything was going! Would definitely recommend Ryan and his excellent customer service!Service: Engine repair

So my warranty company purchased a transmission from them and it was installed and returned to me 02/24/2023. Literally 3 weeks later it began to shudder and I took it back to the shop and dahmer advised them to just change the oil to what the car recommended because they had this problem before. (Christy was amazing and had great customer service) This was alarming but I trusted that they were doing what was best and not the cheapest. Another 2 1/2 weeks later it begins to shudder worst before and I had to return it back to the shop. The auto shop then told me that the transmission needed to be replaced. I called dahmer this afternoon to simply ask what were the next steps and that I needed transportation due to me going months at a time without a car and they didn t even cover transportation the second time when the problem was not my fault. The agent that answered the phone came off rude and basically saying the conversation would be between them and the auto shop and I would only be updated if I am called. She wouldn t answer any of my questions just kept repeating that she doesn t know who would cover transportation and what were the next steps. Christy never had an attitude and kept me informed every step of the way during the process the second time. I contacted the claims manager also he wasn t understanding of my concern of transportation and why I was upset that their REMANUFACTURED transmission is failing in a short period of time. A transmission shouldn t fail after 3 weeks and again in 2 weeks, especially if it s a remanufactured transmission. I shouldn t be left to figure out my transportation when the problem is not my fault it s their products. Do not purchase here!UPDATE: Back again at the shop. Guess what it is? Transmission failure again. I don t understand how you all are in business continuously sending out failing transmissions.UPDATE(10/04/2023): I spoke with the manager (Brendon), and they have sent out another transmission and agreed to reimburse me for rental charges. Hopefully, this one is as good as everyone else s transmission or engine, that they bought from Dahmer, in the reviews. I will give you a better update once I get my car on the road, and see if it lasts. *fingers crossed*UPDATE(10/17/2023): I finally have my car back (dealership s fault not Dahmer). I feel a little better dealing with the company especially from my interactions with Pat, Brendon, and Greg. They kept me informed during the whole process this time, and went above and beyond to rectify the current and previous situations. I truly appreciate them for making it right. It has been a pleasure, and I will contact them again with any other problems I may have in the future. I feel way better about the situation knowing I m covered and they will hold their word.

Having been in the automotive field for over 40 years I have never received the service on a warranty issue that I received from Greg. Super service and quick response. I went here to return an engine for my work and the people that helped me were phenomenal. I went inside and was helped by Nikki Conway. She was very nice and helped me with any questions I had. Then I went down to the loading bays and was greeted by Jon. This guy had a great attitude and was a very genuine person. He was super helpful and did everything he needed to quickly and with ease. Jon and Nikki were great help and great people, they deserve a lot!

I work for AutoZone & everytime I call, I ask for Gary. He always makes sure to get all the information need for me to order. If I order a part under one part number and it's no longer valid, he makes sure to call and give the correct part number to order. My Father turns 90 this October and purchased an extended warranty on his truck 3 years ago through Smart Auto. In 2022 his transmission failed and was replaced by a re-conditioned Dahmer transmission. He raised objections to use of this transmission as did the dealership doing the work. In less that 1 year it failed!! Dahmer offers a 36 month 36,000 mile warranty and decided to limit their coverage on his truck initially because of a mileage reporting issue by the dealership. He had only driven less than 6,000 mile. When that was corrected they still refused to pay for labor, seals, and fluids to replace their worthless transmission! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DAHMER TRANSMISSION. They are not reputable!!! My father cannot afford thief s taking advantage of seniors!

AutoZone has ordering for the Dahmer remanufactured engines available online but Dahmer does not accept orders from AutoZone online. So, my order was not fulfilled till I contacted Gary Stone with Dahmer to find out why? He informed of the situation and I was able to order directly.

I m trying to find the words to express how grateful I am for this company. They have gone above, and beyond for me during a hard time. To say that I ve been through something tough lately is putting it lightly, and they didn t hesitate to help out. I highly recommend Dahmer Powertrain to anyone who s looking for a motor, or transmission.I have personally walked through their shop, and I was amazed with how the motors are rebuilt with precision! Of course I ve never seen anything like this before but, you could tell right away that they like for things to be done right.If you also have a great experience with the company I d like to encourage you to leave a review for them.Thank you to all of you who work at Dahmer Powertrain!

Bought a rebuilt 5.3l ls for my 2002 Silverado. My mechanic installed the engine and immediately had power and starting issues with it. I also replaced every accessory except the a/c compressor. The intake, throttle body, IAC, TPS, belts, ecm and flex plate were also replaced. From the first start, the engine had very noticeable lower front end noise. I called my sales person and have now been getting the run around trying to get this resolved. I am now without a truck and am watching my handyman business go down the tubes because I have not been able to work much without it in the last two weeks. Dahmer was highly recommended by several people I know and trust in the auto business, but my experience so far has been frustrating and disappointing to no end. I get told I'll get calls back and do not. I have been speaking to some mysterious person on a text line that is no help and no longer responding, and that was the most communication I had been getting. Most of that was them sporadically asking for different pieces of info to send to the manufacturer. I thought they were the manufacturer. And I don't know why I wasn't asked for all the info they needed right from the start instead of wasting a whole day getting it bit by bit over several hours. I could understand a little better if I was making a claim after having the engine for a long time and putting several hundred or thousand miles on it, but this was bad out of the box. Trying to reach anyone in the warranty department is a joke. Customer service is poor, and while I can't speak for others, the quality of my engine was garbage. So far, I would definitely NOT recommend Dahmer to anyone.

If you're looking for an engine company to avoid, I strongly advise staying away from this one. I had a terrible experience with them and it seems like I'm not the only one. Despite submitting all the necessary paperwork, they refused to transfer the warranty on a vehicle I recently purchased, which had an engine rebuilt by their team. The engine was supposedly new, yet I experienced severe problems with it after just 2,000 miles. It's been nearly 2 months and they still haven't responded to any of my inquiries.The lack of customer service is appalling. It's clear that they don't care about their customers or their products. I'm left with a vehicle that's practically unusable and no way to get the repairs covered. I've never encountered a company with such a blatant disregard for their customers. It's frustrating, disappointing, and honestly just infuriating.In short, I strongly recommend that you steer clear of this company. Don't waste your time or money on their products or services. There are plenty of other engine companies out there with better products and better customer service. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Extended warranty sent a unit for a replacement. Part I received had stripped out holes, damaged torque converter mounting threads. Pretty sure it's a used unit pressure washed and painted. And shipped out to customers with the hope it works. Subpar quality. Never would I recommend this place.In response, this was a few months ago now. It was an aftermarket warranty company that sent your product. I am the technician. And before you question me, I am one of the top tech for GM. I specialize in transmission repair. The unit was sent to Livonia michigan. Not going to post my employer. You can search by date and city. Date is right before the review was written.

3/10/22We ordered a new motor from Dahmer for our jeep. The salespeople were very helpful in working with us through our options. Nikki in customer service went above and beyond trying to get our order straightened out for us while fielding multiple phone calls and other customers! Thanks Nikki!Edit 5/5/22I returned the core for the Jeep this afternoon. The guys in the warehouse and Nikki running reception were on the ball today! Between getting the motor taken out of the trailer, tested for return and Nikki processing paperwork and the core refund; I was in and gone in under 15 minutes.The installed motor runs flawlessly, everything was as it should be mechanically. I didn't even have to chase most of the bolt holes on the block with a tap. You've got quite the team out there! Thanks guys!

Dahmer Powertrain was absolutely wonderful to work with for getting a reman motor for my jeep. Tyler answered my email promptly & all my questions. Prices are reasonable & include freight. Within 3 days of paying for it they delivered it to my mechanic. I highly recommend them!
