My confidence is a bit tentative after having the best job done on replacing a flat tire at this location. I'm sure it's a result of the times we're living in, but there also seems to be a LOT of turnover among the staff auto mechanics. I am more comfortable taking my vehicle for maintenance that is repaired by someone who recognizes or already "KNOWS" my car.

Understaffed and not great service. Had tires sent to this location because they were a great price. Made an online appointment, which is a joke, since when you show up nobody knows anything about it. Took 3 attempts to get my tires put on, as they texted to cancel my 2nd attempt. Sad times when you can't get people to work and the ones that are there don't want to be.

Call for hours. Employee shortage delayed car inspection in November. Turned away for an oil change in Spring. Came back next day. Sunday needed flat tire fixed . Website says open until 6:00 PM turned away at 3:43 as their shift is over and short-staffed. They say it's a corporate issue to change the website. That means you can't count on the hours as posted. You can get service and it fine but you can't count the hours to be representative of the reality on the ground. Call first.

I called on 1/4/2021 because I needed 4 tires. I was told that the auto center opens at noon and it was first come first serve. So, I got there about 130 that day. I was told that they weren't taking any more tire tickets that day. But I could make an appointment for the following day, which I did for 3 p.m. I was given the choice of two types of tires that they had available for my vehicle. I left my name and phone. I showed up a little bit before 3 on 1/5 and was promptly told that they were not taking any other vehicles that day. I told him that I had made an appointment yesterday and he was responded with okay fine. I went in and set up the ticket and was not given a Time approximate that the car would be done. I came back to the auto department about 330 and had to wait a few more minutes. There are no chairs available currently which makes it very difficult to wait if you have problems walking or standing. No charged motorized carts available. About 440 there was myself, an older lady, the employee that had checked me in as well as another customer. At one point the older lady looked at the employee who was standing there with us and started to say something to her and the employee responded that she couldn't help because she was off the clock. I am familiar with Walmart policies so I understand that, but she could have responded in a nicer manner. The lady that was off the clock did manage to get the attention of the lady that was on the clock about the same time my vehicle was done. The employee that was on the clock looked a little bewildered. The customer that had got there last informed her that myself as well as the older lady were first. The employee proceed to check me out but I honestly don't remember much of a conversation. Needless to say I probably will not be returning to this Walmart automotive department. Which is sad because it's one of the few that are currently open in the area. Please see my other review of the main store for additional information.

I made 4 trips to the store. The first time the hours are incorrect online from preCOVID. Their current hours are 8-4pm. On my 2nd trip I arrived at 3:30pm to an empty shop. The following day I called at 3, told them I was on my way arrived 15 minutes later but the doors were locked & they refused to let me in. When a customer exited I grabbed the door, explained I called ahead and they apologized but refused to install my tires. On my 4th trip it was busy, they weren't friendly, but it was fast and the tires were economical.

Hit and miss. I needed to get 2 cars state safety inspections. First time I called, got an answer on the phone with someone not particularly friendly but whatev, came in and was serviced pretty quickly. Then the second car was a nightmare. Couldn't get anyone on the phone over several days and calling different times of day, stopped in twice and first time I apparently showed up right when they were closing for lunch (what?) And then I said I'd come in the next day - and I did, which apparently was the inspectors day off. Seems like they could have told me that the day before when I said I'd come in the following day. Also both days I had to wait upwards of 10 minutes lurking around the auto counter with no one around to help and tell me I couldn't get done what I needed.I already am not a fan of walmart, and I remain so.

If I could give this place a zero star I would! Absolutely the worst Walmart I ve ever been in.For starters, rude employees. We needed an oil change and I understand needing a mask, but be polite. This man said nope I answer no questions without a mask. Offer me one?! Hello! A lot of places do not use this policy. Especially when you are out of towners. The lube personnel in no way reflect my rating. They deserve 5 stars! They were very personable, very helpful! Loved it!No one in the store to help customers. It s like all the items are for show, not sell. When you ask an employee for assistance you get, this isn t my department. Someone will come help you they do NOT go out of their way to assist you!

The black young lady who answered the phone after the second ring answered all our questions. When you brought the car in it got serviced ( tire replaces) in record time. On that particular day I called three different Walmart service centers and none of them picked up the phone it kept ringing forever. One of them I even requested to speak to the Walmart store manager and I was put on continuous hold forever. I finally called the Walmart off 75th Street in Shawnee and she was not only able to answer questions but got us schedule in to get the tire replaced. Even though the other Walmarts are closer to where we live and it would have saved us gas driving closer to get the tires replaced. I think what's missing is that the other Walmarts I'm not interested all focused on customer service at all. The black girl at the Wall Mart automative store at West 75th Street in Shawnee Mission deserves not only recognition but certainly a good raise in her salary.

The hours they keep don't seem to match the hours posted online in the auto center. I have shown up three times to find that they were not open. I have also called multiple times today and the phone line is always busy.

Don't do it. I came in for tire repair with Road hazard warranty. They replaced my tire without my consent, charging me $70 on a $90 tire I bought brand new 3 months ago from the same location. My tire was worth less than 60% after 3 months of regular use. It seems like this is a tactic used to sell more tires. I waited about two hours before I inquired about the status of my car when they told me this. I didnt even know the tire was considered unfixable. I asked them to take off the new tire and put on the spare and that I would take the tire somewhere else for a second opinion. I spoked to the manager on duty about why they didn't talk to me about having to buy a new tire and the manager was quick to blame his subordinates. The manager even became hostile towards me saying I assumed I would get a new tire. (Interesting enough he assumed I would pay for a new $70 tire) the manager was quick to 'pass the buck' to another assistant manager who was helpful. I did get my $10 road hazard refund knowing they will not honor it in the future for this particular tire. Bottom line: There is a serious lack of communication between the associates/associates and the customers. No one wants to take responsibility. All in all it took about 5 hours for me to get out of Wal-Mart automotive for nothing done to my vehicle. Complete waste of my Sunday afternoon. I've purchased at least 4 new sets of tires from this place knowing full well that it'll take about two hours to get serviced. Never again. I will pay extra for better, quicker, service.Update: I've since been getting my new tires sets for my Mazda5, Odyssey, and MDX at Discount tire without any issues.

This review is specifically for the Tire and Lube.My day was not going well, but these guys made it a lot better. They know what they are doing and are very courteous and respectful. I especially want to call attention to Ryan, who repaired my tire and treated me well. Customer service is clearly a priority with everyone here. I will be coming back.

Terrible customer service. When I dropped off to get four new tires, she said they would call when ready. They did not and I happened to go back to check and it was finished. I asked the employee and he said he didn't know why I wasn't call because he "just got there." I remarked it is not good customer service to not follow through, especially when we're spending $700. He said, "It's not $700," without ringing it up. The total came to $635 and I asked for the manager. He couldn't explain why they dropped the ball and did not offer any compensation. I told them I will never return to their location and will Co tact corporate.

Worst customer service from the top position to the bottom. Understaffed.Opened gates late after the posted starting business hours. You can t just pull into to the shop like a normal car shop. Must park your car outside in the parking lot then come into wallmart to get a service, as explained by the technician who had zero interest in helping me.When I entered, no one was there. I asked the manager if I could check in my car. He replied, I have a couple of things lined up, wait for [the guy] to come in . He was just walking around, not even helping the other customers. I have never seen a manager tell a customer they have more important things to do.Later the guy came telling me he s sorry the technician is busy and he s trying to help the other customers with paperwork.Of course after wasting 40min waiting to get any form of help, they did not have the right tires for my car. So I took my car Nextdoor. Save your time and spend a few more bucks elsewhere.

If you're looking at auto body shops, avoid this one. The staff is rude and unprofessional. They sold me a tire that was already messed up and wouldn't replace it because I didn't purchase road side. Call me crazy, but I should not be sold a flat tire and asked to depend on roadside insurance when I had no idea the tire I was purchasing was not in good shape. The tire was treaded wrong and when I presented it to ask for a fix, they told me to come back in an hour so the specialist had a chance to get there. When I return, I find they gashed the tire behind my back and told me it was unfixable. A NEW tire. I was also told if I wanted to dispute this, it would go directly to the Auto body manager who caused my issues in the first place. No win here. Do better, Walmart. (check out OP or Lenexa locations; worth the drive)

Willis was awesome and so were the other guys...friendly and professional. We had to get a new battery last week and this week, we had to get a new headlight unfortunately. The service was beyond my expectations based on previous reviews, but I was more than satisfied. This Walmart automotive dept has it together!

They have the most rudest automotive section at any Walmart I have ever been to if I could give them a negative star I would. They give you a look as if they don't want your business the manager is the worst when you go just look at the picture of him on the wall. The men they have working sags in their pants like they don't even respect themselves. If you are going to spend your hard earned money never go to the Walmart on state line. If they can't show you respect the moment they supposedly start helping you you should leave because your worth more then that.

The shop supposed to open at 7AM. I showed up at 7:20 and they said they could not open the shop because an employee didn t show up. They said it would be 8 o clock that they would open. This is the second time that this happened.I asked if I can talk to the manager, the guy said that he was the manager but he couldn t do anything about it. Then I asked if I can talk to anyone else who can make a decision, he told me I can call an 1-800 number.Seriously one star is even generous for this.

The lady who checks you in was so rude. When I pulled up at first I didn't know she worked there, no vest, nothing that said Walmart. She said can I help help you very rudely. I said I needed an oil change. She just said it's gonna be long. I asked about how long. She got snippy and said I don't know and turned her back on me. I said nevermind, youreyotoo rude and left. She was very rude, not customer friendly at all what so ever.

Went to buy and get a battery installed. First the guy told me the battery that 3 other places told me would fit would not fit and tried to get me to buy a higher battery. Then when I called to speak to a manager I was left on hold for 30 plus min and when I finally talked to 1 she told me she had to check with the associate to see if that's what happened. Worst service ever. Ended up going to another Walmart and they installed the battery I was told would fit in my car with no problem.

Very busy. Not enough employees to keep up. Confusion about what was done. Employees were friendly and doing there best. Waited 2 1/2 hour to get new tires. Maybe take express out of the name.

Oh my goodness Willis is super engaging and professional. Nobody wants to get work done on their cars especially me with the day that I had, Willis s upbeat nature made the transaction a purely delightfully experience. A young lady named Octavia was very nice too. Oh Willis also upsold me on a warranty that I didn t want initially and as a fellow sales rep I appreciated the effort, he gently suggested it and I purchased it.

I know a lot of people complain about Wal-Mart Auto but this one has never let me down. Their professionalism is right there with dealership repair centers. I'll drive past 3 closer ones to come here.

Worthless. Called ahead, they said come right up and they'd get me right in. Guy in the phone even said his guys were just standing around. Got there in literally 7 minutes as I was just across the street. Like the guy on the phone said, everyone was standing around. The guy at the counter said they wouldn't be able to get to me until 45 minutes. THATS 45 MINUTES OF GUYS STANDING AROUND BEFORE THEY CAN EVEN GET MY CAR IN. I asked the guy at the counter just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding him, and he confirmed what I thought he had said. This is ridiculous I DO NOT RECOMMEND using Walmart auto Care.

Review is specific to the Tire and Lube express.I had used the walmart multiple times previous to this experience for oil changes, car inspections and tire issues without a complaint until this last december.I woke one morning to a flat tire that clearly had a screw sticking out of it. I was able to air it up and took it to walmart to have the screw removed and the hole patched. Two days later I woke to a flat tire and upon inspection and surprise, to find the screw STILL imbedded in my tire in clearly the same spot.I called to speak to a store manager and went back to have the problem rectified. I went at a non-busy time, 2 hours before I needed to be at work. I spoke with the manager over the department who told me the problem would be resolved in roughly 45 minutes. Long story short, I was late to work- an hour and 45 minutes later I left the store so angry I was in tears. The manager said that along with the work done to patch the tire, my sensor enhanced valve stem was leaking air so badly that I wouldn't have reached my destination and had to be replaced, but they had a hard time finding the right replacement. I had NEVER had a problem with that tire prior to driving over a screw and had NO previous leak from the valve stem. The manager failed to inform me that they had put a temporary valve stem in my car, one that did not have a sensor in it, thus causing the sensor on my dash to alert me non stop for days. After speaking with yet another store manager and explaining the situation in detail, I was informed that they correct replacement had been ordered in and I was sent to a different location to have the work done on my car at no cost. This was a horrendous ordeal that spanned the course of a busy work week, snow days, the holiday season and three ridiculous trips....all because they could not effectively remove a screw from my tire and patch a hole.

Good prices on tires installed, and the cheapest oil change you can find anywhere, if all you want is the filter changed an new oil. Only $20. Can't even do it myself anymore for that. But the waits can be long sometimes an hour for just the oil change.
