After researching shops to get my truck repaired, I brought it here. They had great reviews and have been in business for 60 years. They had to do some body and paint work from it being damaged from theft. The truck was in the shop since July 2023. It was picked up January 4, 2024. I waited until the parts were in to take the truck in. The first time they said it was done, there were issues with runs in the paint, sand in the clear coat, a dent was not repaired, the door handle wasn't painted, a emblem was missing, a emblem was put in the wrong place, and the decals were wrong. They had to take it back in. Finally, picked it up and the emblem is still on the wrong side. The refused to correct their error. Not happy! If you're looking for a repair shop to do paint and body work, DO NOT take it to Howard Automotive! They could have gone online to find out what emblems and decals were needed or called. I would have sent them pictures. It's a easy Google search. The truck is a 2018. Very poor customer service and no communication!

They got my van fixed quicker than I expected and I drove all day the day I picked it up from them. It has not quite been a week since they repaired my front wheel bearings, a spindle and a brake rotor. So far, the repairs are holding up great...!

I was in a hit and run wreck New Years Eve. Dealing with insurance is exasperating. Cody helped me a lot. He took the pictures for the insurance company. I wouldn't have had a clue. I'm so glad I landed here.

Cody and his team are really the best there is. They've done a ton of services for my family's cars with them and I couldn't be happier. I ve been going to Howard Automotive for about four years now, and it s always a great experience. They fit me in in a timely manner, and even have a night drop box when I want to leave my car the evening before my appointment. Cody is great to work with, and I ve got about 4 of my friends, neighbors, and even an Uber driver to go here! They deserve more credit than they get and I trust them with my car.

After more than 20 years of using Howard Automotive to service my vehicles with the previous owners I do not plan on returning. Your shop manager quoted me a price of about $600 for transmission fluid replacement for my Toyota PU and then said he was insulted by my desire to get another bid. I got the job done for about 1/2 his quote by a Toyota dealer. This was my first visit under the new ownership. While in the shop I was pointed out one of the new owners who was seated at a couch. He didn't bother to acknowledge me in any way. Just ignored me. No thanks for returning to this business. Very disappointed and have no plans of returning.

Charged $800 for a service that should be no more than $400. LEFT THE OLD PART THEY REPLACED INSIDE THE HOOD. Could have turned very bad. Will take advantage of you.

My brand new vehicle with 1000 miles on it had oil pressure light go off and running/not running properly. Pulled into service stations and they were amazing. They did quick check and noticed my brand new vehicle was completely out of oil. I was 5 hours from home and 5 to my destination. He was so helpful. By having me take a video of the oil being out and helping me get oil in. It s nice to know there are still good people that are willing to help out and be nice and understanding. Customer service at its absolute finest!!

Awesome service! Cody is always very attentive and listens to my concerns about my car. He and staff always go above and beyond to do what's needed. We always have a plan what needs to be done and what's probably going to be next. That way I can budget for it. He is honest and fair always. Ladies you know he not going to RIP you off. I've been going there every since they bought from Jim. Had done business with Jim for 10 years before that. Very unprofessional. I had to reach out to them for updates and when they did call me it was about pricing. Not to mention they had my car for 2 WEEKS and only reached out 3 times out of the many days they had my vehicle. I no longer wanted business with them after the 2 weeks with no progress so I called the morning prior to the day I was picking up my car and told them to just put my car back together. When I arrived the next morning my car was NOT ready even though I called a whole day before. Never again!

Howard Automotive is one of the best places to take your car. Cody is amazing and goes out of his way to help his customers. They offer Great service and amazing pricing for their services. I strongly recommend them to my friends, family and customers.

I had an alternator issue that I was struggling to find a reliable mechanic for. Howard Auto was incredibly responsive and emailed me back the same day I submitted my inquiry. They gave great instructions and were realistic with cost. I appreciated their communication and ability to present information to a layman in a digestible fashion. Fantastic customer service! We are from out of state & needed a quick mechanic to check under the car 30 minutes before closing on a Friday. We'd accidentally driven into a culvert & over a rock. Car was making awful noises during some turns so assumed big issues. They found the source to be a bent cross piece hitting the drive shift. Bent it back into place & it fixed the problem. Luckily no major damage. They wouldn't accept any payment. Very kind, honest, & friendly people at Howard Automotive. Highly recommend!

I used Howard Automotive for the second time and was again, extremely pleased with the service. On this last trip I was concerned that my AC was blowing warm air. I had been using another service and for the past three years was told the problem was on older car (2006) and it just was going to take a while for the AC to blow cool air and added whatever was needed to the unit and there was a small leak that made it necessary to add coolant/freon every season. Howard found the problem immediately, a few parts and the AC worked perfectly! No more yearly charges elsewhere. Howard also automatically checks for other issues and let's me know ahead of time what needs attention and what can wait for another time. Love this service and have told all my friends about their excellent customer service!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Air conditioning

I went to Howard Automotive to get my vehicle inspected. These men(I didn't see any women employees,)were very professional and friendly. A very relaxed atmosphere, plenty of seating in A/C while I waited for my inspection. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Wanted to have some chipped, dinged and peeled places repaired and painted on my husband's F150 as a surprise. Talked with Cody, told him what I could spend and he worked within my budget. Howard is my go-to mechanic here in Kansas City. Aside from their solid workmanship and competitive prices, they are a standout shop in my mind because of their excellent communication and customer care. Cody at the front desk is very personable, generous with his time, and makes the effort to explain anything I don't understand in great detail, without a hint on condescension. Any other woman who has set foot in a mechanic's shop will know why that is of significance. On top of that, unlike other shops which tend to treat customers as one of many in a revolving door, the folks at Howard remember their customers and treat them like friends. The last time I visited their shop it was to have them look over a used car I was buying. They gave me a thorough run-down of all the mechanical matters AND their honest opinion about the value of a car, in great detail. This is the kind of service that keeps me coming back year after year.

I informed them that I had a noise that seemed to be coming from the front wheels or in that area whenever I drove it. I also asked them to find where a vacuum line at the front of the engine and near the intake manifold connected and to connect it for me. I placed a golf tee inside the end of the vacuum line. After leaving it there for several days I called the business and spoke with Cody. He informed me that they had put my vehicle on a lift and found a peculiar noise at or near both front wheels but that they would have to take it apart in order to diagnose it any further and it might end up costing me $2,000 to fix the problem. I asked him if he could be more specific and he couldn't. Granted, my obs F-250 is 4wd with an independent front suspension and manual hub locks. So,I think a good mechanic would eliminate the problem coming from something like the front differential. So, I Got frustrated over the phone and expressed my disbelief. I picked up my vehicle a day or two later and also paid $60 or so for the diagnosis. BTW, the vacuum line still had the golf tee in it. It was kind of like Aerosmith stating no brown M & M's in their rider and getting them nonetheless. Well, at least the guys were friendly whenever I returned and liked my dog as well. I later found a bad spindle bearing at my right front wheel assembly.Service: Auto maintenance

After going to a few repair shops, for my daughter, I remaindered my former neighbor had used Howard Automotive. Howard s was several hundred dollars under the three bids had have already had. They showed me items not needing replacement and why. The other repair businesses had quoted including these items. When the paint job did not come out like they wanted, they called and asked if the delivery date could be moved back, while they repainted the bumper. Both my daughter and I were pleased with the repainted bumper.When my daughter did damage to my wife s car, I just took it directly to Howard s because I had confidence with their work and costs.I will use Howard s for future work I need done.MiltService: General repairs & maintenance

They do great work, at a great price. Cody is fantastic to work with. I would not take my car anywhere else in KC. Cannot say enough great things about them. * Jordan also added a dyno, and now does custom tuning as well. If you want more power and your car to run right give them a call.

I didn t know this place was 3 minutes from where I live and when I went to go give a review I am so happy they live up to the 5 star rating an on here!All I needed was a state inspection but during my wait a few customers had come and gone. The manager Cody was absolutely amazing! He talked to the customers like they were a human being and asked questions without sounding like one of those mechanics that try to rack it up. He talked to us while we waited between customers. Cody genuinely seemed to like what he does and the service was quick and easy. Bonus points for the fluffy brown couches in the office! Wish I could give 10/10!

These guys were awesome. I am always weary being a female going into an automotive situation because I know nothing about cars, but they definitely put me at ease! I had to do a safety inspection because I have a salvage. They were quick, actually found an issue and were able to be inventive to fix it and only charged labor instead of having to spend the hundreds of dollars to replace it. Five stars for sure! Will definitely go back!

Howard Auto (Cody) is very trust worthy and always makes the repairs affordable. We moved further away but drive all the way out to him for our car repairs because of the customer service and his honesty. Very thankful to have found Howard Automotive!!

Best damn place in town if you trying to look for diesel tires or body repair the mechanics know what they're talking about and get the job done and Cody is a fresh and friendly greet! So handsome lol

Howard Automotive was able to get my car looked at promptly and they did their due diligence in finding that the problem I was reporting was covered under a special coverage. Without doing any work, they called me to tell me so that I could set up an appointment with the dealer and get the problem taken care of under the special coverage. Great integrity to diagnose the problem without charging me anything.Then when the dealer found my brakes needed replaced, Howard beat their price and were able to get the work done the next day.

I owned an older truck and it developed problems, that a number of automotive repair shops could not solve. My truck would quit running for no apparent reason. Cody and Howard Automotive, found that my truck had sensor problems and they where able to fix it. The truck ran perfect after their repairs. I plan to take my sisters car to them for repairs. It is a Impala 2010 and I will let you know how the car performs after their repairs. Great business with great mechanics.
