I took my Honda there because it was leaking break fluid. They efficiently fixed the brake lines where it snapped, and also found the root cause. There was a bad wheel bearing, and that is what cause a break in the brake line. He quickly ordered and replaced the wheel bearing. Affordable, quick, friendly and local! I wouldn't want anything else.

Update from 7/2023: So I had an issue with my trailer hitch in a bind because I needed to hook a U-Haul up and go immediately. Called Poettgen, and they let me bring the SUV up and helped me out of a bind on the fly. I can't describe how grateful I am for them and their excellent service.These guys are professional mechanics who have been assisting us for years. We're very grateful they're on our side of town. They keep an eye on the cars and maintain them very well. Thank you, Poettgen!

Repairs for Volvos are often expensive and long drawn-out affairs. However, Poettgen's business-sense made my repair straightforward and very affordable. As long as I live in the area, Poettgen Automotive will have my business. I have been taking my car to Poettgen Automotive for over 17 years, along with every member of my family which include my wife, daughter, son and my late mother -in-law. He is a trusted man of integrity and honesty. We have never felt overcharged or under appreciated as customers. I recommend Dan's work without question. He is an exceptional young man.

Dan is the best! I never worry about if I will be paying to much or for things I do not need. I have been taking my car to Poettgen Automotive for many years and will continue to do so! Very happy with their service! When my Mini Cooper's check engine light came on during a recent trip from Kansas City to Rolla, I was lucky enough to have my brother-in-law recommend Poettgen to me. They fixed the problem for a very reasonable price and I got home safely and with no further problems.

Poettgen Automotive is one of those old-fashioned mechanic shops where you can expect professional/competent service at a fair price. Dan and his crew will only do what's required and won't try to set you up with unnecessary work. You'll get straight advice and work that's done right the first time. This is the kind of shop you build a relationship with. They know you and they know your car. Not many shops like this left. Also, they're especially good with foreign cars -- probably the best in town, in fact.

They charged me $67.50 to look at my car and tell me what I told them and another shop told me. The only reason I took my car to them was because they said they can work on a BMW and can diagnose it; whereas, my other shop couldn't. When I complained about being charged with no answer he didn't bat an eyelash or offer to discount or waive the fee. In fact he didn't say a word. He just took my money and ushered me out.He wanted $120.00 just to switch the valve timimg solenoids to see if the code changed. He wanted $350.00 to install 1 new solenoid. The new solenoid cost $100.00. Why to swap 2 was $60 each and to put 1 new one in was $240. Why does it cost 4x as much to put a new part in as opposed to an old one? It only took me 10 minutes to put the new one in myself. Highway robbery!I was not expected the day I picked up my car because I was out of town. After paying the extortion fee, he said my keys are in the car. The car was out front and unlocked.I will NEVER go there again! And if you want a car, just go pick one out from in front of their building...The keys are in the car. Worst shop EVER!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

They are professional and they are fair in their charges. They have helped so much since my husband became ill and they do not cheat me because I am a woman. I give them the highest rating because they give me the highest form of care for my cars. I have a Mercedes, an old 20 year old Lexus

Very accommodating, a no nonsense shop that you can count on to make sure your vehicle is up and running. Used them for basic oil changes, reconditioning, and needed mechanical repairs. Priced reasonable and service is timely. They stand behind their work.
