Had a buddy work here, they treated him with disrespect. They let coworkers steal his tools and never tried to reason or compromise a deal to get his tools back or reimburse him for his tools. Would constantly send him home hours early claiming no work but when hired was promised constant work. Overall are not true to their word and will not even try to resolve issues

I'd leave zero stars if I could. I called yesterday to see if they had time to do a standard 2 wheel alignment and how much it would cost. Lady over the phone said they could do it now and the fee was $60. Seemed a little inexpensive considering all other shops i spoke with wanted a minimum of $100. I took the vehicle in today. Ask for an alignment, and I'm immediately told there is a $49 fee just to inspect it to see if it can be aligned. Said to myself okay well that's how they get their extra 50 dollars. Then I am told they can't perform the alignment because there was a spare tire on the vehicle. I explained that the wheel was in the trunk, and it could be put on if need be. Apparently that wasn't sufficient enough. They clearly did not want to perform the service. Whole experience was shady. I suggest you keep driving right on past this unprofessional business.

Calverts remains awesome. We used to go to the one on Main, but it shut down and I pretty much insisted we needed to find another one instead of a mechanic in our area. These guys do honest work and we will keep going to them in the future. My husband recently had surgery, and our old 2002 Civic was having real issues. We couldn't afford to pay for the work, so we just paid for the diagnostic, but the guy went ahead and loosened the parts so we could more easily replace the spark plugs ourselves. He didn't have to do that, but we appreciate the heck out of the guy at Calvert's doing that for us. We will be back when we need other service!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Knowledgeable, kind, communicative, efficient... they were awesome! I thought they might only do oil changes but I was lucky enough to find out that's not the case! They were able to help me with replacing a throttle body piece that gave out and then I went back a week later for an affordable and quick oil change. I've been dismissed before at other places walking in knowing what needed work, but not here. I was listened to and felt heard and seen and the issue was fixed quickly! They arent disrespectful to push you for up-sells and they are willing to answer any questions or concerns you might have. I definitely appreciate them and the work they do, and they have earned our business! Thanks y'all!

Took my car in for the advertised $70-$80 brake service. After the brought my car in inspected the brakes for an hr and a half quoted that that could replace the brakes for $80+tax. Agreed. Then they tell me it would be the next day before they could get to it because they would have to have the parts delivered. Agreed. Brought the car in, 11am dropped it off, and was told they would call me in an hr when it was done. By 330p still hadn't heard anything. When back to the shop to find out that the price had changed and now they want $780 to replace the brakes. No thank you. Here's the problem had to pay half down in order for them to get the brakes. For $80 I gave them the $80+ tax to get the brakes and finish the job. When the price changed and I denied the service I asked for a refund for the money paid. I was told they can't return my money. They would have to submit with corporate and the refund would come from them. I got a 5 page letter from corporate basically stating that they would not refund my money unless I signed the included form that said I wouldn't make any negative statements about this business publicly or I would be sued. Yeah! I couldn't believe it either. $80 lesson learned. Don't do business with another dishonest auto repair shop. Bye bye Calvert's. ZERO STARS!!!Service: Brakes

They did a really good job on my car. The guy who worked on my car actually took the time to sit down with me and explain to me what was wrong with my car. I also feel like they way undercharged for the stuff they did. Plus the receptionist was really Beautiful and she was very polite and professional. I almost asked her out for dinner!! It was a great experience. Had a left headlight out. They replaced both headlights. And that did not fix the problem. They diagnosed it and found out that it was a palace. That starts the head fight and they fixed it. Was a lot more expensive than I thought it was going to be, but they fix the headlight. It s the most I ve ever spent on fixing the headlight. However it was on a 2007Z 350.Service: Body & Trim

John the manager and Nicholas were both friendly, patient, straightforward, and very customer-focused, thank you ! Answered my MANY questions with patience and directness; called me before doing any work that wasn't already explained to me/requested by me. Performed the work quickly, within 2 hours, and this Independence Calvert's location takes appointments, which is less time-consuming for customers. I went there expecting my RAM needed brakes. After an hour removing all wheels, John (manager with a perfect-personality for what he does), said I have plenty more wear to experience. He didn't charge me a dime. I had him check for other things...just because of the effort, trying to find a way to pay for the time. I didn't even need an air-filter, he determined. As a cynical journalist, who has written so many stories about faulty mechanical-work, I felt compelled to recommend this dealership. Good service is expected. Honesty, unfortunately, isn't always delivered. If you even THINK something is wrong with your vehicle...go see John!Service: Brakes

I always try to get there 1st thing in the morning so I can get in an out but this time it was a drop brakes and rotors all the way around and the best thing was the ability to put it on my Synchrony credit card with a good interest rate use the card for car repairs and gas.

Updated 2 years later to say that the parts that they installed and that typically are expected to last 5+ years are now broken and have to be replaced. I wouldn't recommend this company at all.---------We have taken our vehicles here several times over the years and always gotten good service - until about a year ago. Sloppy work and rookie mistakes almost broke the engine in my vehicle. One visit basic, expected repair required 4 visits and two tows to get completed correctly. I will not be back and can no longer recommend this shop.Seeing the reply, I want to add that we did contact the regional office after the 3rd visit and received complete indifference. That truly confirmed our poor experience. I do not know what kind of staff this location has today, but my latest experience thoroughly convinced me to not return.

Never had a good experience with this location, only went there acouple times but that's enough for me.First time my capless gas cap was leaking air so I went there and it took them forever to say we think it might be these springs that hold the seal but we don't have the part so you should go to ford... so I did.. the SECOND I told them what was happening they said "oh that happens all the time it's just a sensor"and it costed next to nothing..The 2nd time i had a coolant leak and they needed to replace the hoses. So they do, my famly takes my car on vacation and the coolant starts to leak, burns up the computer and when they had it towed to a mechanic he said that "somone installed the hoses wrong"UPDATE: took my car into another shop and they said "two tires were bad. Front brakes are non existent and your rotors are going bad but NOT an emergency." So I saw Calverts was doing a brake deal so I decided to take it here to get brakes done. They called me the next day and said "one tire is bad, your brakes are non existent and all four rotors need replaced NOW and the rotors will fix your problem Guaranteed" so I told them to just do the breaks and they were acting like it wasn't wise to not get the rotors done now, tried to sell me breaks that wasn't under they're deal and after everything I went to get the TWO tires that were bad (not one) and that completely fixed the problem, not the 700+ job they were trying to sell me on. The fact this place re opened with there money hungry prioritys baffles me.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Auto tire replacement

I went to get inspection. And they told me that I needed a back brake light. They tried to charge me $30 to replace it I told them no I will replace it myself. I get home check the brake lights and there was nothing wrong with it. I thought by getting an oil change and an inspection at the same time would save me some time. I got there around 2:30 pm and did not leave until 4:15. This is not their first. I watch them rip off others while I was waiting. They are lucky I have 2 kids at home to take care of because if I did not. I would happy to go to jail. Just so that place get investigation. Because the person that talk to me about the inspection was not the inspector on the wall. So not sure that person was ever certified. I also had an appointment so there should have been no reason why it took that long.Service: Oil change

I ve read some of the other reviews And I find Disappointing that many of the negative reviews are based on price. I m not sure in today s world that there s anything like an inexpensive car repair. This is my second time here and the mechanics and service lead have taken me into the garage and showed me exactly what the issues are. They ve gone as far as to show me what is necessary and what items could wait. They ve also showed me other areas of concern that may or may not be related to the issue I brought the car in for.Therefore, they have given me options both times as to what course of action I would like to take. In fact, they even offered potential inexpensive alternatives if certain problems reoccurred. I found their prices to be quite competitive even without coupons.I think the service manager s name was Jamie, if you have questions he seems extremely knowledgeable and willing to take the time.The only reason I give it a four surrounds the General reception area, the chairs were pretty disgusting, I m not sure they spend much time cleaning it and there was a borderline questionable movie playing on the TV when there were kids in the waiting area. Sometimes it s small things like that.As for the car repair, everything seems to be great, fair prices, and quick service.

I was impressed with this business. My brakes were making A grinding noise. I took it in for a free inspection and brake special . They told me the brakes were fine and the noise was from rust. They did not charge me. I went back later with another car. They had no appointments available, but told me to drop it off. It was done in 24 hours. Very friendly.

After I took time off of work and took my car in for repairs, They did absolutely nothing to my vehicle. Keep in mind I had an appointment and sat there and waited for over 3 hours! It was a totalneadtecof my precious time!!! They finally came out to tell me that they ordered the wrong part! REALLY! This isn't the first bad experience I've had with them! Welp, it's the end of the road for me. I'm done! They don't even deserve one star!!

This guys are awesome. They're the best in Kansas city. They were recommended to me by another auto service. You will be amazed at how fast they are on getting your car fixed. I went to 3 different auto services for 3 days but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. I went to Calvert and it was done in 3 hrs. Great and friendly workers too.

Store isn't maintained or clean at all. I drove 40 minutes to get brakes changed, sat for an hour and a half to be told they wouldn't be able to do my brakes, because the parts they ordered were too big for my car. This was the first time I've went another route other than my dealership out of necessity, definitely my last!

The guy at the front desk was very friendly, I just needed an oil change and they didn't have any openings that week but he told me they were doing walk-ins the next week. I needed a safety inspection and they were able to fit me in the same day even though everyone else was booked up . I know inspections only pay $12 so they aren t priority. But, I m thankful this shop saw me as a customer and took care of me with little wait!

First time visit. Counter person was cold and did not know what they were doing. Had a coupon for an oil change. Told they would get it after the work was done. Work was performed relatively quickly. To my surprise, the coupon price was not honored. I was offered $5 off. Beware if you have a coupon to try and save some money. It may not.

I arrived early..My appointment wasn't until 1...but the guy from the shop came out and let me know he could take care of me now. I was thankful and I left pleased. Everything seem to be ok. I had an oil change and my tire pressure was checked...which was discovered i had too much air in a few of my tires and not enough in one. The guy leveled them out...and the indicator went off. I have been taking My car here for years and I ve never experienced the issues that I have ran into recently. I took my car due to squeaky brakes and grinding noise and I was told to replace the calibers and to get new front brakes, And a hose was suggested but not recommended. We were running a special on break so of course I chose that option which included economy brakes, Which I was not told that economy brakes would equate to the same problem being the squeaky noise. After my first visit I had to return because my front passenger wheel started smoking while driving and would no longer accelerate. I was then told to spend additional money and to go ahead and get the suggested hose as that should resolve the issue. I returned again for the third time with a complaint of the squeaky noise and I have been told now that because I purchased the economy breaks that that is one of the symptoms of having economy brakes is that the squeaky noise will happen intermittently. So I have had no resolution for the thousand dollars that I have spent at this location and have had no mitigation plan to move forward with besides spend more money. Before this experience I would ve recommended this to all of my family and friends after this I will no longer recommend this to even my slightest enemy. It s a money trap and they have no customer satisfaction as a priority.Service: Brakes
