I had to drive nearly 400 miles to purchase the 2024 VW Golf R I wanted, but Joe Machens Volkswagen had it. Barret worked with me over the phone and with Face Time to arrive at a tentative deal which was confirmed when I arrived there. Damarkus Cain, was a very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful salesperson. He made sure even the smallest details were tended to. Caleb White, the Finance Manager, was very professional and extended himself to simplify our buying a car from out-of-state. While I am too far away to use their Service Department, I can definitely say this is a professional, courteous dealership, making this a great buying experience.

We wanted to trade our 2022 Kia Sorento due to just not being happy with it and the Kia dealership local to us. Other than that, I was a Volkswagen owner for 6 years, I just so happened to regrettably cheat on Volkswagen for a few years I came to say I m sorry and I want you back! We had some negative equity and thought that it wasn t going to work out w/financing, but because of Sean (Sales) and Caleb (Finance), we were able to make a deal. While interest rates are high right now, they were able to get me down to single digits because I have good payment history. Our payment isn t higher and right within our budget, but EVEN better because we have GAP, Extended Warranty, and a type of Cosmetic/Windshield Coverage. AND we still maintained a three-row vehicle for our growing family!We literally don t have to worry about our vehicle for 6 years/72,000 mi. I am so happy to be back in a Volkswagen and we are definitely trading our other vehicle in with Joe Machens VW soon!Look at my beauty!

I have been trying to get ahold of someone since December 19 for a refund on an extended warranty.I have signed all pertinent paperwork requested. I was told this takes 30 days. I have left multiple messages for the finance and the sales manager with zero returned calls. The buying process was 6 out of 5 stars and after that they went to zero!

Joey Arenella was very helpful and polite. I expected to have to leave my car for a few days and it was done in a few hours which was extremely helpful as I live an hour and a half away. The service was top notch, I will definitely be back and spread the good word to others!

Chris, my service advisor, is amazing! Mira, who always drives me to and from I need to be, is delightful and we have the best conversations! He is also a great salesperson for the ID.4, and is a real asset to the branch!

Worked with Robert, who was a new salesperson. He was very kind and I'm hopeful he has a long and successful career. The salesperson that was training him, who's name escapes me, was a huge help to us and Robert as well. Solid team effort.

I thought I was having a good experience with this place, until they ran my credit and the numbers weren t what we thought. They promised me these amazing things, then stopped getting back to me after already running my credit several times. I ve called and went in multiple times, only to find out that I wouldn t be getting the car I wanted and now no one is getting back to me about anything. Don t get me wrong, Bruce is very friendly and outgoing, he s tried pretty much everything he could so that s not who the problem is here. I have a problem with the finance team.

Review pertains to Joe Machens service dept only:If I could choose negative stars I certainly would. We took car in to have key reprogrammed due to new ignition switch. They said they were not able to fix it. They charged $200 for less than an hour of diagnostic. Never took car off the trailer I brought it in on and had the nerve to charge for shop supplies. We took the car elsewhere. They were able to fix in less than an hour and charged $75. I highly discourage anyone from doing business with joe machens Volkswagons service department. They will swindle you. We are extremely frustrated and disappointed they took such advantage of us.

My technician Preston Wilbanks did an amazing job! He was very professional and curtious. He even backed my car in for me so it was easier for me to get out! I was in and out in 30 minutes! All of the staff was amazing and welcoming!

I am extremely pleased with my experience with the service department here. The technician made a mistake when I brought my car in for service so needed to come back in and get it fixed. Of course mistakes happen every now and then. What could have been a very frustrating situation was handled with respect and care. I truly appreciated the service department owning their mistake - that is true integrity which we need more of these days. Thanks VW Service - I will be happy to come back every time I need service on my VW vehicle!!

A stellar experience all around - so great that I bought my car from them more than 1,200 miles away! Having been on the hunt for a new Golf R for many months, I was excited to find they had a 20th anniveray edition coming in, and unclaimed. My salesmen at the time Cody was an absolute gem to work with - honest, transparent, communicative, professional, and truly caring. He made sure he got my name on that car and took care of any other issues I had along the way. Other salesmen take note - this guy is a role model for what a salesman should be!Shortly before delivery about a month later, my sale transfered over to Leo who was also exceptional to work with, and kept the same stellar level of customer service as Cody had provided me with. Wrapping up finance with Anthony was also simple as could be, a great guy and super helpful. There were a few hickups here and there, but Leo & Anthony were quick to sort everything out, and really went above and beyond to help me realize my dream of owning a Golf R (and for that I thank them once again!).All in all, I wish every car buying experience was this easy! If you read my reviews, you'll see how terrible of an experience I had with a local dealer in CT.. which led me to buy from this dealreship instead. And I'm glad I did! I would buy another car from them in a heartbeat if/when the time comes. Thank you for the great experience!

Found a nice used vehicle they were advertising online on numerous vehicle sites. Inquired with them online that I would be coming to look at it from over an hour away and asked if there were any issues with the car. They assured me there weren't. Once I drove all the way there I was allowed to see the car but told I could not leave the parking lot to test drive, as it had not passed through their safety check yet. Why post a car for sale all over the internet if you aren't letting anyone drive it? Makes no sense. The salesman assured me he would get it right over to maintenance to get this done and call me as soon as it was ready. We had a few other cars to look at other lots so that seemed fine.We finished looking at other vehicles and I had heard nothing from Machens VW, so I texted them and asked and he said it was still in maintenance and he would go down there and text me what the ETA was.....crickets. We went to lunch then drove to Ashland to look at another car....more crickets.We started this process with Machens at about 9am, and at about 3pm I bought an awesome car from Top Quality Motors, who I recommend by the way. At no point in time did Machens make any contact with me whatsoever. Horrible customer service and incredibly poor business practices of posting vehicles up for sale that they know they aren't going to let anyone drive. Who would buy a used car without being able to drive it first? At one point the salesman even stated that I could put some money down on it if I wanted to make sure it was held for me. Seriously? Without driving it first?I could not be more dissatisfied with Machens Volkswagen.

I appreciate Amanda and her team. I was having some issues with scheduling on my end and they got me in and out to work on time. I appreciate that I received photos of items needing replaced which explained any questions I may have had. Overall great experience.

Chris in Service was extremely helpful in walking me through my new GLI features (which I'd purchased from Carvana), shared details regarding the warranty, and got me scheduled for an oil change relatively quickly. Day of the oil change, the team seemed a bit short staffed, but they were still extremely helpful and working hard to keep things moving.

Only reason for one star is the inability to leave 0 stars. Not only did they sell me a car they knew had transmission issues. After pointing out the confusion between two different vehicles , the one I bought and the one I test drive with what I thought was trans issues. Turns out it was the one I bought that had transmission issues.. long story short they knew the car had issues and still sold it ( the salesman told me it shifted hard but I thought he was talking about the other vehicle I drove that day ) after talking to the gm , you bought the vehicle as is but he didn t want to talk about the fact that they knew it shifted hard and still sold the vehicle. And now refuses to even check it out bc the vehicle was purchased as is . Bought multiple cars there but will not be shopping there any longer!

This dealership has screwed me over for the third and final time. First time, with less than 23k miles on my car, my front Perrelli tires came uncapped, a fault caused only by faulty production. Only compensation they could give me was half off, so thanks for making me pay half of something that shouldn t have even happened. Second time was tied to the first time. I have aftermarket rims, and every time I ve gone to them they used my lug key WHICH THEY ENDED UP STEALING IT!!!! I ve since replaced it, but the point is they stole it, and claimed it was theirs all along, even their service manager stated their mechanic left it in my car POS. Yesterday was the final time. I came up from the Jeff City area to get an oil change kit for my 2020 GTi, to which they gave me the wrong filter, and over charged me. I had to make the drive back up here today, 12/30/23, to get the correct filter, and to get some reimbursement for the overcharge only thing they could do was not charge me the difference in filter. This dealership is HORRENDOUS!!

If I could give them no stars I would. My young college daughter took her Jetta in to get the oil changed and look at her coolant level because the light came on. She also asked while they were changing her oil if they could look at her brakes. They didn t tell her there would be additional charges for that. They charged her $95 just to look at her brakes, while they had her car up changing the oil. They took advantage of a young woman. Instead of being helpful, they took advantage. When I asked if they told her upfront the additional charge, the service manager didn t reply and I asked again and she hung up on me.Good learning lesson for my daughter to be an advocate for herself and ask more questions and not assume they wouldn t charge a fee, even if her car was already in the lift getting an oil change and checking coolant levels. But shame on this service department for taking adavantage of a young woman. This has also went out to Mizzou parents.

Came in with my 2022 VW Tao. Previous I came In for my 20000 mile service and oil change. They gave me a list of items that need to be fixed. Ok cool no issue I scheduled a follow up the next week to get the items replaced. Tuesday i have a scheduled appointment i get a flat tire. I call the dealership i purchased the car as well as a $7,000 extended warranty. The sent a tow truck he got me up and running and scheduled me for the same Friday to replace my tire. I get here and after 3 plus hours they state they don't have my tire In stock. ???? Then why would you set the appointment to replace? This service center is always frustrating and I should have to come back 2 and 3 times for routine items. Love my Toas, hate coming to the dealership.

Awesome experience! We are so happy John walked out the dealership door to greet us. He was a newer salesman but was honest and never hesitated to find an answer for us! Stephen was very helpful, as well, and was great to work with! They both went out of their way to be helpful and never rushed or put us aside for another customer. Awesome customer service! I returned to Joe Machens VW because of the customer service. From the minute you walk into the dealership, you are treated with respect whether you are purchasing new or used. Bruce Tell and the general manager both make sure that your experience is tops! Both times I have been over the moon with this dealership!

From the start of the whole process, my salesman Bruce, was wonderful. He was very patient and was very low pressure. Not one second did I feel the pressure that so many other dealerships had given me. The store itself was nice, with a lot of free snacks and drinks. I had some trouble getting financing and I gotta say, these guys did everything in their power to help me drive away in the car I wanted. Even after buying the car, I ve called Bruce probably 5 times with questions. He always helps with sincerity. I would highly recommended these folks.
