I now understand what all the hype about Gilbane Motorsports is all about. I've lived in town for 15 years and had many motorcycles over the years, but have always been more of a DIY'r. However, since I've been part of this close-knit community for so long, I knew that if I ever ended up with a Harley, that I'd be going to Gilbane to get work done and supporting the local independent motorcycle shop (which I had heard nothing but positive review of over the years) rather than going to the local HD dealer/stealer.Well the day finally came when I got a Harley ('02 Fat Boy FLSTFI), and due to my rational fear of the dreaded cam chain tensioner shoe catastrophic failures that are so common on these models -- and the bike being 21 years old -- I knew it was time to bite the bullet and update the cam chest to a Feuling kit.My experience with Gilbane couldn't have been better! Jonathan and Matt were a wealth of knowledge and always willing to answer all of the questions that I asked. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted, and I selected a Fueling hydraulic cam chest upgrade, S&S lifters, and S&S Quickee Adjustable Pushrods to get the job done. No lag time was required because Gilbane already had all of the parts in stock and ready to install! We added an oil change to the work order so that the brand new oil pump would have some fresh fluids.I came in on a Monday to schedule the work, dropped the bike off that Tuesday (early due to weather, but knowing they wouldn't work on it until Wednesday at earliest), and got the call that it was done late on Thursday morning. I rode it home today (Friday) in the rain since it's still warm-ish outside.The team went above and beyond, and the work estimate came out to almost exactly what the total job finished at -- with no additional "surprise" fees at the end like you might expect at your local HD dealer/stealer. The team even washed my bike after the service, which was above and beyond -- and were even nice enough to provide me with the attached digital pictures of the job & parts for my service records!I will not hesitate to bring my HD back to Gilbane in the future and have nothing but positive things to say about this crew, the quality of their work, and their competitiveness on pricing. Rest assured that I'll be spreading the word.

New to MO., riding my 14 Road King 103, living 1.5 mi. from Harley Davidson, but word-of-mouth brought me to Gilbane Motorsports @ Columbia! Personable, professional staff and outstanding prices. Caden did my work today, was helpful, professional, knowledgeable and just a great guy ~ as were the other 4-5 staff on service. My highest recommendation. These are my new go-to boys. So glad I listened to reputation and word-of-mouth. Thank you Gilbane Motorsports!

Called this morning, regarding installing my own supplied rear tire for my z900rs. Said they'd get me in after 1pm. Arrived at 1, 1:25pm, mounted and balanced perfectly, for a reasonable cost. Without any grief about not buying off them.Made a customer for lifeThanks guys!

After 6 weeks and still not knowing what s wrong with my bike I asked for it back because 5 different times they lied about calling me back. I got it back with no tank bolts at all. Front breaks almost non existent,scratches in the fairings and nothing but excuses and lies. I could have been killed. Never even bothered to look for my tank bolts or nothing just said I don t know anything about that after I showed him the videos. They did it on purpose after tryn to convince me it was a head gasket for 3-5 grand but their equipment contradicted the owners feeling. What was I suppose to do? I just wanted it back since I can t afford to let someone tinker with it for 6 weeks on my dime. My bike is trash now. Thanks man I m sure you would love for me to bring it back so you can over charge me agin with all your lingo your gonna put on here. Bottom line is you sent me down the road without a bolted down tank and no front breaks. Where my phone holder prongs? Never called me about that either. If I was a punk I would sue you. Lesson learned. Tire and oil service isn t what I needed done I guess. Now go ahead and tells us how I m wrong

I just purchased a fantastic pre-owned Honda Civic from this business. A special shout out to Jonathan who helped walk me through all the steps to get this deal done. Who knew how difficult it is to use USAA financing but Jonathan & Matt the owner got it all worked out for me! I will do business with them again. I have never received better customer service anywhere! Thanks!!!

Came here for an inspection on a 2005 Yamaha v star 1100, they didn t stop short and told me exactly what what was wrong with it and got it in to fix it on a timely matter, everyone there has been real nice and professional especially Vince who has answered ever question I ve had. Really great environment as soon as you pull up.

Stopped in the shop for the first time today to look at some new bars, Vince was awesome and such a big help and made me feel like a long time customer of the shop, really enjoyed talking to him and will definitely be bringing my bike to them for work!

Gilbanes have performed services on a couple of my motorcycles in the past always with excellent service at competitive local pricing. The subject of this review is in regards to how they are willing to go above and beyond to help you out if you need it. The day before a seven hundred mile trip cycle gear sent me the wrong case for my quad lock. I knew gilbanes sold phone mounts but they happened to have just sold out a little earlier in the day. After explaining my situation one of the gentlemen working there walked outside, grabbed his personal phone mount off his bike and sold it to me at a very fair price for a used product when allot of other people could have taken advantage. Stand up people will always have my business.

I needed a few new tires and an oil change on my Vstrom 650 I just purchased. Called around to every dealership in the area and nobody could do the tires or fit me in within a reasonable time. Most of them said to go to Gilbane. All I can say this is my new go to shop for all my needs. Alex and Vince are top notch on customer service and personality!!Services: Tires, Oil change

I have nothing but good things to say about this place! My husband was on a cross-country trip and needed an oil change. When the first few shops he stopped at couldn't fit him in they sent him to Gilbane and they took care of him immediately. Vince was great, they have an amazing staff overall. They even made time to change his back tire and gave him a great discount on a new helmet. We highly recomend!Services: Tires, Oil change

Brought my bike here for some brakes. Vince helped me out. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. Went into f&a cycle to get a carb cleaned, they told me I had to bring the bike in and it would be $340 for the labor and rebuild kit, that didn t sound too right to me. I took the carb out in less than 15 mins with a half tank of gas so an hour of labor for removal and another hour for install??? Also they don t take walk-ins with parts I HAD to bring the bike. Called Gilban motors spoke with a gentleman and they got me a quote of $220 with rebuild kit. I used to work on cars but boy the upswell f&a cycle was trying to pull was crazy, and to cover it up with liability claims, to get an extra hundred or so blows my mind. If your looking for help start here and work backwards if you want, glad I found this place.

I was very impressed with the level of service at Gilbane. The impression I got told me these guys were passionate about their trade and genuinely wanted to work on your bike. Service was affordable, the work was done quickly, and I felt like my ride was in good hands.I will be bringing my Harley here for a long time!

Never heard of gilbanes until It was recommended by another biker. Very friendly. Had handlebars installed very happy with service. Like the fact that if they feel something should be done, like preventative part s replacement etc, they tell you. May not be welcomed news but needs to be addressed. Some posts on here say they are on the expensive side of pricing. I really can t comment on that much. You own a premium bike, but want bargain basement repairs costs etc. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I trust their work and opinions. I don t want to be second guessing someone s work 500 miles from home cruising 80 on the freeway. Would I recommend? Yes. Will I be taking my bike back if needed in the future? Yes.

Did the normal yearly check first time in 3 years a problem was found with my bike has it back later that week rides better than it had. Jon,Alex and Vince, always are up to speed with any thing I had in the back. The guys at this independent shop are helpful and knowledgeable in the world of motorcycles. I would trust them with my bike again if I needed a major service! I recently had a torn valve stem on my BMW. When I arrive at the shop without and heads up, they were able to get my bike in right at that moment and had me back on the road in 15 minutes. Will definitely be coming back to this location for my BMWs needs.Service: Tires

These guys are professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommended! I have a 1962 Harley Sprint H that had not run for 30 years, these guys took in over the winter when thing were slow, rebuilt the carb, top end, points and more and got it running and back on the road. They were truly great to work with!

Got a flat on the way to Lake Ozark Rally. Vince verified they had the tire when I called in. Immediately got the bike on the lift, in and out in 45 minutes. I ve been looking for an independent shop since moving to Mid-Mo, glad I ve found Gilbanes.Service: TiresService: Tires

Dropped my Ducati 1098 off earlier than planned bc it wouldn t start but would crank so it had to be fuel, air or spark causing the problem. they let me store it there sense I wasn t gonna be home to drop it off on the date that I scheduled. Very friendly environment and nice guys. Told them a few common issues I know they have such as a fuel line being disconnected or spark plugs on these bikes. Spent 6-7 hours to find the issue that was ultimately a disconnected fuel line. The bill was close to $750 witch was a little outrageous in my opinion for simple fix that I pointed out. They fixed the Bike and it runes great just wish they would of been more thorough at the processes of elimination if I m paying 120 an hour for a professional to work on it.Service: Engine repair

Best repair shop experience you ll ever have! Brought in my bike to replace the tires my front being flat, called them the day prior and they made space for me, the owner and all the employees were extraordinarily kind and funny too. I decided to stay and wait the hour for my tires to be replaced and while I waited they let me test ride an E-Bike for fun and the rest of the time kept me company. The job was done incredibly fast at a good price too and on top of the work I paid for they decided to clean and lube my chain for no additional cost to me just out of the kindness of their hearts! Gilbane is the only motorcycle shop I will go to. The guys there are so awesome they treat you as family and friends. Vince is one of the cooler guys that work there beside Chad and Alex and most of all mat the owner. They know their stuff when it comes to motorcycles. Actually purchased a Honda Odyssey minivan that they apparently traded for, about a week ago. Great folks, enjoyed the visit, paid a reasonable price for a nice vehicle.Nice lobby, and great to chat with the folks here. Word of advice, if you plan to pay for your services with a debit or credit card, like many small businesses, cash is king, and debit/credit cards will have a service fee, so be prepared. They have a sitting area, and a water dispenser for customers. There's also a restroom available. There's a Break Time at the corner of Nebraska and Providence, a nearby Subway, and Dairy Queen, as well.Ran into a minor SNAFU when registering, one of the title owners didn't sign the title, and I had to bring it back to send off, resulting in a late registration fee, but the guys at Gilbane's made good on it, they are awesome! Thanks, Gilbane's!

For any professional motorcycle diagnostics, customization, or general maintenance, you need to talk to Gilbane Motorsports. The whole team there makes for a a stellar shop for any needs you have on 2 wheels. Alex and Vince at the front desk will greet you with a smile each and every time you walk in, and they always do a great job of being efficient, professional, and knowledgeable of the industry.Seriously, if you re thinking of going anywhere else, don t. Gilbane will get you right. I can t commend these guys enough. They are the real deal!

Gilbane's is the only shop I use for my bike's repairs! These guys are top notch. I have used them for several different repairs and have always been pleased with the fast turn around and quality of work done. I buy my tires from them as well and I highly recommend them.
