We have had a couple of our cars worked on here. They have always done us right! They are priced very reasonable and are able to get us taken care of in a timely manner! I would definitely recommend using them! Now that our second car is done, I am getting ready to get them started on our next vehicle. Good to have a trustworthy mechanic close by! They're awesome, Corey is good at walking your through what needs done and way, will add in why labor costs are a but high (if needed) like if the part is hard to get to. They lost atleast 1500 dollars off me, went in to get a purge valve replaced and kept getting bad parts. Would call them and say "still jumping at stops, and dieing" so he'd set a time for the next day and put another in. Did this 6 times, finally put a factory Ford valve in it it and it fixed the problem. I thought the warranty from the part company the used paid them like 15% of labor, no they pay nothing. So after the 6th time we got it, and they had to of lost atleast 1500 doing this for me. Since we had all those "oh its still not fixed" phone calls the last time I went in to get the factory part put in Corey told me that for now on the ONLY person that'll be handling my car is their lead technician Marcus. Who I grew up with and know, he is very good at what he does. Powells is hands down the best place in town to take your vehicle, sure their labor might be higher then the other guys shops, but you're paying not only for solid service, but INTEGRITY! To me that's worth a few extra bucks in labor costs. Once they get to know you and your not blasting them on Rant and Rave pages or on FB, then they'll really start going out of their way for you. I don't want to list what they've done for me and make yall jealous but let's just say they've went above and beyond, every single time I step foot in that auto shop. Love Powells, just wish they'd get on CarFax so my car wouldn't have such a bad score, since all the work they've done isn't listed on carfax when I go to sell it it'll be hard to get the most out of it. Saved my receipts but that's old school. Powells, I sent you a carfax friend invite last weekend. Check it out. Thanks boys, again hands down 10 fold, BEST auto shop in Clinton.

Everyone was very friendly and explained the diagnostics test and what needed to be done. Will have my repairs done here. This was my 3rd time having my car in service and I was happy with the outcomes each time.

If I can give them zero stars I definitely would! I went and got my transmission checked (don't have a dip stick) and they came back and said that my transmission was low and dirty and they recommended changing the transmission fluid. I didn't know how long it has been since its been checked cuz its new to me so I said yeah go ahead and it cost be almost $400 dollars. I went back like 6 months later to have them check it again and I had a feeling that there were gonna say the same thing they did before... and they did.. they said it's dirty and they recommend changing it, saying it's never been changed when they were suppose to do it 6 months ago and clearly never did. I took it to sedalia back where I bought it and they said that the plug has never been pulled and there's no way they changed it 6 months ago! So they lied to me and ripped me off almost 400 bucks! Will never go back and never recommend them to anyone!

This was a great buying experience. The car I purchased was advertised on fb. I sent message, received response from John Bayless in a timely manner. Staff was friendly and courteous, answering all my questions. They allowed me time to work with my bank. No stress involved and fair pricing. I would do it all over again. I strongly encourage you to go see John for your next buying experience. Powell automotive is a clean facility and aim to please all the down to the toilet roll.

Waited nearly 2 hours. They tried to fix something that didn't need fixing for $300. Told me my car wouldn't even make it home. Called their bluff and have been driving it everyday since.UPDATE August 2021: still driving just fineUPDATE December 2023 still driving just fine, has since passed inspection, I checked the tie rod and had someone else check it, too. no problems.

They are a very helpful business! I got a recommendation to go to them from a friend at work. So glad I did. They helped me when I had to find out what was wrong with 2009 Ford escape hybrid.A few months later my partner had a headlight out on his 2012 Prius. I recommend Powell's to him. He took it there and got it fixed for less then the internet said and half the time. He was pleasantly surprised and so was I!I plan on buying a car from them in the future next!

Had front end work done. After the repair. The cost went up almost $100. After 20 mins talking with them. It was removed.Left with the truck but noticed the steering still had a lot of sloppy play in it. Couldnt take it back right then as I had a ride after putting the truck in storage. All they had to do was tighten up the steering box screw a quarter to a half turn to take the play out of it. Maybe 5 mins to do and I would of given at least 2 stars. I drove the truck to Georgia and back sitting on the edge of the seat with both hands on the wheel to keep it on the road. Grrr!!! I also noticed some parts that should of been replaced but weren't. I'd put pics of it on here if it were possible.I really can't give any stars for this job. Will never go back. Good Luck to anyone who takes their vehicle here.

Need a vehicle, go see John Bayless! Great people. Very honest. Took the time to work with us and answer all our questions. Loved the down home friendly atmosphere. Definitely a dealership with integrity. Not only did we buy a truck, but we also gained new friends. Thank you, John and the entire staff, for the positive experience.

John and Brian were amazing to work with, very professional and friendly. They even offered to let me take the car home to Olathe, so my wife could see it before we bought it. Great business owner. Travis and his team went above & beyond to help me find the right vehicle. And he not only did this once, but twice when I had a auto accident. I would definitely recommend them to anyone searching for a new auto. I will return again I'm sure for my 3rd purchase.

I had been looking for a truck for about a month and Powell's had a 2019 Silverado 1500 RST Z71 on their lot. I had a couple other trucks I had been looking at, with this one in the top three. When I found out another truck at the top of my list sold, I reached out to make an offer on this truck. We was quite a bit apart, but after a few days they came back to deal with me. We more or less met in the middle and had a deal. There was no hassle, which I really liked. Prior to finalizing the deal John had the truck detailed for me, and it looked great. Because the truck had been driven some while they had it on the market, the owner of the dealership had his team change the oil, and also added a 6 month/6,000 mile powertrain warranty as a part of the deal. I was very happy with the experience. While this is a used car dealership, Powell's always has really nice vehicles on the lot. I would use them again if they had a vehicle I was in the market for!

Place is a rip off. A freinds of mine bought a car there her brakes started making noise charged her over 100 for a estamet. Did not even get that right said it would be over 1000 in parts possible more. Needless to say $200 in parts later brakes are fine so they would have had $800 I just labor alone

I highly recommend! Very friendly & good work! I got new tires and front end work done... my car rides so nice now! While I was waiting for my car to get done... John Bayless offered to get me a loaner car so I could run errands... was so very nice!

Had a great experience at Powell Auto Center. Over a 3 week period I made multiple trips to Clinton to look at a truck and then multiple trips to dealers in KC metro to do the same. I could not find anything to beat the deal they had so I bought theirs and it made the trip worth it. I would recommend for anyone looking for a good deal.

Drove down from Lawrence Kansas, after speaking with John, to look at car for my wife. Super friendly employees and clean store. The car was well maintained and very clean. John made the purchase very low stress and smooth. Would highly recommend calling or swinging by if you see something you're interested in.

The staff is very friendly and very professional. They talked to me and listened to my concerns and addressed them. They did a really great job of working on my car. Powell Auto Center is your place for auto services! Travis, the owner, is so nice and very friendly! It was so great working with him! They were super quick with my tire patch! Got us in and out in no time! Great place and very clean!
