All of the high reviews are correct. This neighborhood service station and auto repair shop is efficient, honest and fair in pricing.I spoke with Dave about getting my vehicle in a safe condition and he was extremely thorough.All of the other employees were courteous as well- Steve, Skylar and Missy.I plan to return for routine maintenance.

Great people here. I like that they are owner operated. $200 for a Porsche oil change versus $600 at the dealership.

AMAZING IN EVERY WAY!!! They were super honest, friendly, and communicative. Their prices will make you fall in love with them! To top it off, the gas station is open from 6am to 10pm, during which you can pick up your car, which was really convenient. I would, and will, recommend them to everyone!!!

Dave has done nothing but beyond great and professional work at a fair price! His staff are just the same! Always polite and helpful!! I had some questions about my vehicle and Connor was more than helpful turns out I was very low on oil he took care of me and was friendly and professional!!! 10/10 recommend will definitely be back!

Had one experience with them so far but it was excellent. Our alternator died two days before a long road trip. Dave fit us in, gave us an honest quote, and did the work for hundreds less than the dealer. The car made it across the country and back (~6000 miles) without a problem so we have been satisfied with the work. Will return in the future.

I have had a couple decent experiences here. They do charge too much for certain parts of their business. For example, I was charged over 100 dollars for a simple inspection. I recently had my radiator replaced and, to my dismay, immediately had to be towed back to the shop because the shop forgot to adhere a key tube. I missed my doctor appointment and was late to my job. I do not recommend this place.

Highly recommend! Always great service! I don't take my car anywhere else. They really do a great job and bend over backwards for you they even delt with my warranty company for me.

My car broke down on my way to work so I had it towed to Claymont Automotive. I was nervous about what was wrong and the cost of repairs but knew I would receive good and honest service from this business. I called to let them know it would be towed there while I waited for AAA. Dave guesses at what the problem may be after I described what happened. I felt at ease after the call. They repaired my car in one day, the cost was less than I anticipated and less than what was quoted. I am a single mom who watches my spending and I am very grateful for having a car service I can trust! I have been a customer for over 2 years now. Always friendly and quick. They have been keeping my car well maintained and are very honest in their analysis. Dave even knew someone who had just the part i needed. I get all my auto work done here

Dave is very honest and fair. On more than one occasion he's told me when work doesn't need to be done. Try finding that elsewhere. They do good work at a fair price.

We brought our car to Claymont Auto Service to have our radiator repaired. We have always gone to this service station becuase we as a family like to deal with small businesses since it's hard for them sometimes to compete with the big guys and all there advertising dollars and big market shares. My father was in the auto repair business his whole working life (33years), so I know a little about it. The radiator for this car cost $159.00 with a limited lifetime warranty and they charged me $235.00 for the radiator which is an excessive mark up on a part, in addition they charged us 1.6 hours at $95.00 an hour for labor. A fair service shop will make their money on LABOR and make a little on the part, but in this case he whacked us on both ends, labor and part, which we can go anywhere and get that treatment. We drove past 5 or 6 reapir shops on our way to get our car repaired at Claymont and when I asked Dave the owner about why he is charging us the same rate one of the big biz repair shops would he told me that..." I don't know what I'm talking about"... and that "this is Ballwin, the high rent district"...Anyway, I DO NOT recommend this place anymore after many years of going to Claymont Auto Repair...HE'S A PRICE GOUGER IN THE HIGH RENT DISTRICT..WOW!! Thanks Dave, you lost a good customer for life.
