It was well worth driving further away from Jackson metro to use this facility. I was third in line on a weekday afternoon with a 15 minute wait at the most. The people working there were very friendly and courteous. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes for a license renewal. Even the drive back and forth was nice. It's beautiful country out there and the roads are in good shape. I'm almost sorry I don't need to go there for another renewal for eight years, as ridiculous as that sounds. Once you're as far as Carthage, you can head over to the Silver Star Casino for the buffet and a day of fun.

Great place for D/L services. Arrived at 10 for 10:30 appointment; got service immediately, no waiting; was finished with out-of-state transfer by 10:30. Nice folks. This was a Tuesday morning.

The staff here are incredible! After dealing with the absolute worst customer service at the DMV in Pearl, we brought my step daughter here to take her permit test and we were in and out within 30 mins!

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The office in Walnut Grove is the best. We moved from Florida and they were very helpful and extremely accommodating. Got two Florida licenses switched to Mississippi and two Florida ID cards switched to a Mississippi license and an ID. All in the span of less than 1.5 hours. It would have been faster but we had to get some forms notorized. Great job and thank you.

The site in Walnut Grove is welcoming, professional and swift. We were welcomed, checked to make sure we had what was needed, called in a timely manner and greeted with smiles. All over best experience I/we(my daughter's first ever visit) ever had.

I drove over an hour to the Walnut DMV and I have to say it was worth it. This is the first DMV I have ever seen on Google that has more than a 2 star rating. The people in side the office just give off a good vibe. All to often do I go into a DMV just for a simple task and the person behind the window is very rude or sounds like they just hate their job (And I understand everyone has those days), but not here. Thank you again for making a simple task enjoyable and it was great meeting you all.

This isn t your typical DMV compared to others. This is a DMV located 16 miles north of Forest. I came here to take my Class D license exam. The staff were friendly. I have to give a big kudos to the Manager here. He helped me out as best as he could and others as well. I didn t get his name, but he was super friendly and I m amazed by his amount of effort. I recommend this branch for your driver license needs.

Drove up to walnut cove, found a sign on the door close due to lack of Personnel.I don't get it. No wants to work?? I would thought there would be a help wanted sign too. Disappointed!

After waiting for 7 hours at the pearl location, only to leave with nothing.... We went to walnut Grove a week later. Walked in, signed in and was called before i could figure out where we were supposed to wait. We arrived at 9:30. My daughter had to have a drive test and we both needed address change. We were done and leaving at 10:05! The two ladies that work there are very efficient. Very nice! The rest of the dmv departments in the state should take notice!

Walnut Grove DMV experience was a total blessing , Thanks to Mrs Misty and the entire crew for their expertise n knowledge of their job.I saw patience,politeness, and positive attitudes both times I visited the branch.I thank God for you all,God Bless!!!

My family and I took my daughter to get her license and our experience was long, but it was very cordial. Woody announced that it would be longer than normal, due to 1) the amount of unusual traffic and 2) they were short staff and 3) only one of the two computers worked. I have read other reviews and you can't blame the employees for their frustration considering the State closed many, much needed locations and while I was there, many other people came from neighboring counties and possibly some from farther counties. We took it in stride and the lady that was with Woody on that day was very friendly and cordial. We need to contact our officials and ask why we can't have former locations, or more people and sufficient working equipment in the few locations that are still operating. Obviously they have become oblivious to the plight of individuals trying to fill the needs of trying to obtain a license.

I was there today with my son getting his learner's permit. The two women working there, Janice and another lady, are working their tails off with an overload of people to serve. There is only one computer and they also have to answer the tons of calls that come in. My advice is to get there EARLY -- like 7:30 am -- and still be prepared to wait at least an hour or so. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was that there were times that they got a little distracted by folks coming in and that slowed the process down a little. Overall, though, they are doing a good job with not as many resources as they should have.

Went in today at the DMV in Walnut Grove MS at 3:47, we were told at 4:40 that we would not be able to be seen. They need to find a better system and the workers were busy talking and on the phone. The worst part of it you have to return and may be told the same thing again.

We arrived at 3, took a number and waited patiently. At 4:50 we were told that the person who was still at the computer would be the last to be seen today because they close at 5 pm. There was still a room full of people...some who were already there when we arrived. Apparently there is just ONE computer for all constituents to use for whatever their license or ID needs are. To bad we weren t told at 3 that there was just the ONE computer to use and that it was unlikely we would be seen today. Next time we will just take our chances with waiting all day at the main office on Woodrow Wilson. When I had my license renewed there the wait was just minutes and even if we wait hours at least there will be more than ONE computer. Now I have a very disappointed 15 year old who really wanted to take her driver s exam and who missed biology for nothing.

If they are open, it s great! But, they may stick a sign on the door and not be there without notice. We went for permit a year ago and it was great. Tried to get DL there today and no one is there. A long line of unhappy people!!

I took my wife here to get her drivers license and the employees were all very professional and very helpful. The process was very smooth and we were not there too long. A+++++

WARNING!!! LENGTHY POST!!! MY GOODNESSSSS!!! SO, MY DAUGHTER GOT HER LICENSE RECENTLY AT THE DMV IN WALNUT GROVE, MS. MY SISTER IN LAW TOOK HER DAUGHTER HERE A FEW YEARS BEFORE AND WAS TELLING US HOW NICE IT WAS AND THAT WE COULD CONSIDER GOING WHEN IT WAS MY DAUGHTER'S TIME. OK, SO I PULLED UP THE REVIEWS ON MISSISSIPPI DMV'S. THE BEST ONE BY FAR WAS WALNUT GROVE, MS. SO I CALLED TO GET INFORMATION ON WHAT ALL WE WOULD NEED.....AND THE LADY WAS SO COURTEOUS AND THOROUGH THAT I WAS TOTALLY AMAZED!!! OK, SO WE MAKE OUR WAY TO WALNUT GROVE, LEAVING EARLY FROM HOME (YAZOO COUNTY, MS)THAT MORNING ON WHAT I KNEW WAS GOING TO BE AN ADVENTURE!!! WE STOPPED AND GOT SOME BREAKFAST IN CANTON MISSISSIPPI AND HEADED ON. WELL, WE GET THERE AND THE PICTURE ONLINE WAS THE EXACT SAME PICTURE. WE GO IN AND WE FILL OUT A SHORT FORM ON THE KIOSK IN THE HALL AND GET OUR WAIT NUMBER. WE SIT FOR PROBABLY 7 MINUTES AND THEY CALL US TO THE DESK. THEY GET HER INFORMATION, PUT EVERYTHING IN THE COMPUTER, AND LITERALLY WHILE WE'RE STANDING THERE THE OTHER NICE LADY SAYS OK, YOU CAN SIT AT THAT COMPUTER AND TAKE YOUR TEST. SHE TOLD HER HOW MANY SHOULD COULD MISS ON THE TEST GOOD LUCK. MY DAUGHTER TAKES THE TEST AND SHE SITS BACK IN THE WAITING AREA AND THEY CALL HER BACK UP, PRINT OUT HER PERMIT AND THEN WE WAITED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES FOR HER TO TAKE THE DRIVER'S TEST. SHE TAKES HER DRIVER'S TEST, COMES BACK IN CHEESING FROM EAR TO EAR, WE PAY, THEY PRINT HER DRIVER'S LICENSE( THE LADY EVEN ASKED HER IF SHE WANTED TO TAKE ANOTHER PICTURE, IF SHE WAS SATISFIED WITH THE FIRST ONE) AND WE'RE DONE. MADE IT THERE 8:13A.M. OUT BY 9:40 A.M. I KID YOU NOT. WE STILL HAVE THE KIOSK TICKET TO PUT IN HER MEMORY BOOK. I EVEN WANTED TO TAKE HER TO SCHOOL BUT WE JUST MADE IT A DAY!!! THERE WAS THIS GUY IN THE DMV(CUSTOMER)THAT ASKED IF WE HAD A DMV IN YAZOO, WHICH WE DON'T AND HE WAS PUZZLED AS TO WHY WE CAME SO FAR. I TOLD HIM I HAD CALLED EARLIER IN THE WEEK AND I WAS PLEASED WITH HOW I WAS TREATED OVER AND I WAS PLEASED WITH THE REVIEWS. WELL IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH AND I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!! THANKS WALNUT GROVE, MISSISSIPPI DMV!!! GREAT SERVICE!!! GREAT HOSPITALITY!!! MAKES ME SO HAPPY TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE AND PLACES LIKE THIS STILL EXIST!!!

8 hours spent here for just a permit. This is ridiculous and they only have 2 computers total and only 1 works. Won t be coming back.
