Great place to stay for the history in the area or for hunting season. They re right next to WMA hunting property. The only thing I did not like was it s considered a bed and breakfast but you have to go to the main house for breakfast and they only serve til 9am. No room service on breakfast.Rooms: Rooms are not in main house they are in the old carriage house which is a good walk to main house for breakfast.Nearby activities: Windsor ruins plantation and old cemetery s from civil war days and the family tomb stones of the original owners of the plantation.Safety: Very quiet and safe!

This has been an amazing experience! Such a beautiful and quiet place. Our room was great and had everything we needed. Jim and Diane have been wonderful in every way. They have given us suggestions of things to do and places to see each and every day over breakfast. A great breakfast I might add with amazing coffee! We even sat out on the covered patio at the carriage house with many other guests and the owners and chatted about the history. We came to swim some and didn t even get in the beautiful pool because we enjoyed everything else much more!

Absolutely amazing stay at Canemount Inn this Fall. Diane and Jim were wonderful hosts. The Inn and grounds were immaculate. Diane and Jim's knowledge of the area, sites, things to do, restaurants, places to go and history were more than we could have hoped for. I highly recommend a stay at Canemount Inn B&B to anyone and everyone. We will be back!

The Inn is a perfect and tranquil place to stay. The rooms are beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need. Diane is both gracious and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the home and area, and gives a delightful tour of the home. Jim cooked us a delicious breakfast, served in the beautiful main house dining room, that was just what we needed to start our travel day. I cannot say enough great things about our brief but very enjoyable stay at Canemount. It is the definition of Southern hospitality. Thx, Jim and Diane, for being such charming hosts. We will be back!

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Canemount and the owners, Jim & Diane. While there for my husband's work, I had a lot of time to learn the history of the plantation and the surrounding area. Absolutely beautiful, quiet, relaxing, wonderful breakfasts, great conversations and friendships made. We will definitely be back!!

Our B&B experience at the Canemount Plantation Inn was awesome! The land was gorgeous and spacious and and emersed you in the country in the best way. And our room was spectacular. It had a wonderful setup, great working a/c, and the jacuzzi bathtub was an added bonus. Our hosts also made the experience awesome. They gave us a lot of history about the home that added a lot of insight to how things were back then, and were full of knowledge of places for us to visit during our stay of the area. (I had no idea there was that much to do in southern Mississippi.) They also went above and beyond to make sure we had every comfort while there. I look forward to coming back.

Had a wonderful stay at Canemount plantation, the hosts are awesome, and their place is very nice. Diane was well versed in the history of the area and provided us with a very informative tour. This place also had a nice clean pool that was a great for winding up a hot day on the road (wife and I rode a bike to CMP). Had a great breakfast in the morning and drank one of the best cups of coffee ever. Thank You Jim and Diane, hope all goes well for the both of you.

What an absolutely wonderful experience! Make sure you have a good GPS for finding it, but it wasn't too terrible at all just off the beaten path. The entire property was so beautiful and the room was a lovely mix of warmth and functionality. Breakfast in the morning was accompanied by great conversation with the owners and a history of the buildings. I really hope I get to pass through here again because I absolutely would stay at Canemount. Thank you for the wonderful time!

Extremely peaceful & beautiful. The Inn keepers Diane and Jim are very kind and take pride in their property. Their attention to detail is greatly appreciated. They also go above and beyond to make sure that as guests you enjoy your stay. They were also kind enough to make special consideration as well as accommodations for me coming from Texas to work @ Alcorn State University. I am very appreciative for them and their services. They even/also invited me to corporate worship.

We went for my son's graduation at Alcorn State this weekend. And let's get first things out the way: Yes, it is an old plantation, and yes, we (the current owner and I) had an in depth discussion about fact that the name "plantation" is still used. She addressed the current concerns and backlash she constantly gets and said that she is considering a name change. That being said, I couldn't help but sense that there was a deep history I felt while I, and my family stayed there. Although a negative history, we were currently celebrating my son's graduation from college. What a turn around in our history. This Bed and Breakfast is amazing: food, pool, as well as the living arrangements. But the history lesson we received is nothing a dollar amount can be attached to. The property is still under development and we can't wait to go there again for Alcorn's homecoming

The price was phenomenal for the area & attractions you get as well. We will certainly visit again. Thank you again for such an amazing stay!!!

Great location with a lovely atmosphere. The people who run the inn are great and really bring the history of the plantation to life. The breakfast were homemade and wonderful and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. It is a place we would for sure visit again.

I stayed at this Inn while on business at the university. It is 3 minutes from campus while other hotels are 30-40 minutes away. The room was very nice with a home feel. Like staying at a friends house. It was quiet inside and out (with the exception of hearing the sounds of nature while siting on the porch outside of my room). There are only six rooms, so, don't expect to hear much foot traffic once you are settled in. The Inn keepers were very friendly and eager to tell the story of the property and their journey to owning it. Breakfast is in the main house and in an amazing dining room. Fresh cooked to order and served by the host. Being in the country, the internet is not so fast and antenna channels only for TV. If I need another overnight in the area, this will be my inn of choice.

The room far exceeded any of my expectations and the bed/ bedding was extremely comfortable! Woke up to a view of the expansive grounds with beautiful spanish moss draped trees. Wonderfully friendly owners/ inkeepers. And you must get a tour of the main plantation house. So much history and beauty!

Beautiful location. Stay in the red barn was luxurious! Hosts are marvelous and breakfast was best I have had in the USA. Getting to dinner at night is tricky as the plantation is a bit out there.
