If you have transmission issue Colman Taylor is a fantastic shop ! Clint the manager is very knowledgeable and his team will take care of your issue !I m a very satisfied costumer and will always use Colman Taylor for my transmission needs !Great job to the team at Colman Taylor Hwy 80 Jackson Ms

Don t go here unless you re ok with them using your vehicle. Took my truck to them on a Monday, they kept it till Friday and said it only needed a flush ..when I pulled up to get my truck they were using it to pull other vehicles around their lot! Got in to leave and they had put OVER 400 miles on my truck and it was out of gas! Never again and I will tell everyone who will listen to me not to go here.

If I could give 50 stars I would! Thanksgiving week - I was pulling a 30ft camper to the Gulf coast when my transmission went sideways. I limped it in to Coleman Taylor in Jackson, MS and met with Flynt. He explained it would take several days to get me back up and running, and he offered several ways to help me out, including towing my camper to a campsite. It wasn t needed, but appreciated. While I was sorting all of this out, his manager Tony decided he could get me going by the next day! So I left it with them, and I was indeed back on the road by noon the next day!! I expected this ordeal to be a disaster, but Flynt and Tony went above and beyond to help me out. I completely trust these guys and highly recommend this shop for your transmission needs! 5 stars times 100 !!!

Called them and explained my car s issue. They told me to bring it in and they would look at it the next morning. Took the car in and they said bring it back in 3 days and we will look at it on day 4. Brought it back on day 3. They contacted me on day 9 wanting a credit authorization to begin work (I had left cc number). Said they would complete work the next morning and would know if it fixed the car by the following day. Called on day 14 to check on it since I hadn t heard anything. They said, it s on the schedule and would be worked on soon.Can t comment on quality of work, but, communications and honesty are severely lacking.

They were quick to let me know what was wrong and gave me a good quote and a time that would take to fix it. They even got fix sooner than quoted. The price is far and warranty is good. The transmission works better than it has before.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

They simply don t want anybody business,want money to have truck tote to them for a price and if I don t let them do the work then I have to pay to have tote away ,they couldn t tell me how much it cost,I believe they look at you an truck and charge you how much they can get out of you ,,,,could be they make more money out of people just hauling there truck r car around town ,sad how these shops just rip people of ,

I was on my way back from NewOrleans to St. Louis when my transmission went out in Jackson Mississippi on a Sunday, June 11, I was able to find a towing service that had a mechanic. They looked at my car and informed me the next day that it was a transmission and they recommended Coleman Taylor, towed it there, so he looked at it pretty quick I suppose like that next day I was trying to find out if I needed to stay or get a rental car back home which I ended up doing. He told me it was my transmission . they were very nice about finding me a transmission it took about a month they kept me informed about everything, so it was july 13th 2023 I took an Amtrak from St. Louis to Jackson Mississippi to get my car. when I got there paid for it told me it has a six month warranty etc. all good . I got in my car and started it ( I have a 2012 Dodge Challenger ) and it sounded louder, like way louder and metallic sound and I m a woman and I m like OK maybe it has more power , he said it was the torque converter that had went bad in the first place so maybe that s why?? don t know but It got worse on the way home and I knew that I had a catalytic converter leak but it did not sound like that at all before , My car was not really loud at all before the transmission etc. so I messaged him my way home. He said that they had to take the exhaust out or part of the exhaust out to get the transmission in and that may be it and it even was worse by the time I got back to St. Louis I sent him a video. He had Dobbs here in Festus Missouri, where I have a salon., look at it. within like 20 minutes they called me back and said it was ready. They said that they didn t put two brackets back on and there didn t tighten them all up and they had fallen off and they fixed it , so it was still really loud and they told me that was because I had an exhaust leak in my catalytic converter which I knew and I told them that it wasn t that loud before but nobody seem to care so whatever long story short, I got my catalytic converter replaced yesterday, August 6 and by my mechanic and he had told me that they when they put the exhaust back on they didn t put these little half moon brackets back on at all and at Dobbs they just tightened 2 bolts and didn t replace said brackets just tightened it (there s some bolt they can tighten,) but it s still gonna keep on loose loosening up , that s what my mechanic said and he fixed it. that kind of upset me because I guess Dobbs just wanted to get me in and out they weren t making any money on it or whatever and as awesome as Flynt was at Coleman Taylor he did not follow up with me to make sure everything was OK at all. it s hard trusting your car you know 300 miles from home and in different state and leaving it there and I did, I was pretty satisfied for the most part but you know my exhaust because they didn t tighten 2 very important brackets which is a stupid mistake it could ve fallen off and that would ve been another problem so I m not happy with that , I m not happy with the customer service on that end at all I own a business and if I knew that there was a problem with a customer I would ve followed up with the customer. Stopped in from out of town with a blown transfer case. Guys worked late into the night to get me back out on the road the next morning. That lady s and gentleman is what you call going above and beyond. And they were nice enough to give me a ride to and from my hotel room. Fantastic place. Great job all the way around. Best auto repair facility I have encountered in 72 years! I cannot tell you how Flynt took compassion on this old man from Georgia stranded in Brandon MS. diagnosed and solved my problem and now, thanks to Flynt and company at Coleman Taylor, I am driving home to GEORGIA safe and sound. Words are insufficient how much I appreciate the professional manner and extreme kindness I was shown by Flynt and Coleman Taylor. Their integrity, friendliness and professionalismwere all 5+. Being a widow I always get paranoid when it comes to having my vehicle serviced. I ve had to take several of my vehicles to the guys at Coleman Taylor over the years and as a business owner I have to worry usually that I m being told the truth and that I m being charged for exactly what s needed and no more. Great experience! Mr. Flynt took very good care of me and got me back ridding. My 2011 Chevy Tahoe transmission went out. I had it towed in. I have a warranty with ASC and Flynt worked with them to get me taken care of. Very professional and updated me the entire way. Work was done in a timely manner as well. Flynt was highly recommended by two people that I trust, and whose opinions I hold in great esteem. Coleman-Taylor didn't disappoint and returned my car in very clean condition and shifting smoothly with a re-built transmission. They do seem to stay super busy and backed up (a good thing, I suppose). Fortunately for me, this was an older, third car and I did not need it repaired in a hurry. I have no hesitation about recommending them, and appreciated the professionalism and courteousness I received from Flynt and Tony (the two I had interactions with).Service: Transmission

This place is amazing!!! Had one of my customers brake down in Jackson Mississippi the transmissions torque converter let loose and sent shrapnel through out the transmission. Flynt and his crew went to work on the van and looked at several options for me and my customers. They were able to get the van back up amd running with in 24 hours!!! And the transmission that was installed has a 3 year 100k warranty good at gm!!! How many places can accomplish that for an out of towner passing through and they did that in 24 hours!!! They went above and beyond to help me- picked me up from rental car return, then dropped my vehicle off at my home once work was completed. After purchasing an RV we found my truck s transmission slipped and leaked a lot when we pulled it. After being referred to Coleman Taylor in Jackson, MS I took my truck their to have the transmission rebuilt or replaced. After checking it the said it just needed to be cleaned, serviced, and have a seal replace. I had them perform this work two months ago, but waited until the big test last week to write a review (which I never do). Last week we pulled our RV through the mountains. One full week of very steep grades and having to downshift on the down slopes. The truck and transmission pulled far better than expected.So to give them 5 stars is only because I couldn t select more. Coleman Taylor could have taken advantage of me and didn t. I was preparing for $3,000 or more. They were very polite and answered the many questions I had professionally. They are the only transmission shop in town as far as I am concerned. Took my SUV to Coleman after a recent rebuild elsewhere went bad and the other shop said it could be weeks before they got to looking at to diagnose the problem....so much for warranty work! Called Coleman and they had me bring it over. That was on a Friday afternoon just before they closed.....they called me Monday morning with the diagnosis and let me know the cost. Gave them the green light and by noon on Tuesday the truck was back on the road. If you are looking for a professional shop look no further...great service, quality work and professional team....can't go wrong!Service: Transmission

Coleman and Taylor Transmissions did a great job on my truck. their team was very friendly and knowledgeable. They also took the time to go every step of the repair process, to make sure that I was well informed about the services I was receiving. I highly recommend this shop.

It isn't often that businesses are upfront and honest anymore. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I thought it was my transmission at fault but instead it was the axle. What I thought was going to be several thousand dollars turned out to be less than two hundred. They could have told me anything and charged me thousands. Instead they were respectful of my time and repaired my problem at minimal expense. I would highly recommend Coleman Taylor for any vehicle repairs. They provide fast excellent service.
