I ran into a big problem with the transmission in my truck. This is a newer truck with an odd ball transmission, that no one wanted to go into. I had two dealerships tell me that the transmission was done for, and I needed a full replacement. (Approximately $8,000). I took my truck to Cook's Automatic Transmission and I've never seen customer service like this. I met TJ Cook and he personally took over. The extra mile these folks took to save me money was incredible. The level of thought and amount of time put into the job far outweighed the costs. The guys even took the time to show my 7 year old a few things about the shop. I saved over $5000 because this business is honest and willing to think outside the box with their work. There's a reason why this family has been doing this for over half a century. It was a genuine pleasure to meet TJ Cook and the crew.

Stopped by to see about getting my '07 F150 transmission fluid/filter changed. Chris recommended I go ahead and do a complete flush since my truck has 209k miles. Dropped off the next morning, returned to pick up in the afternoon. It shifts smooth, better acceleration and I feel more confident in the longevity of my truck. Job well done and a fair price. Great people. Highly recommend if you are having issues.

Highly recommended from friends and co-workers and I was extremely impressed. Yes it took awhile for my repairs because of the supply chain deficits which is not there fault. They were wonderful in getting repairs done once the parts were received and had great empathy on the cost which is very rare in this industry. They treat you like your one of the family with honesty, integrity and efficiency. I highly recommend this business and will pass on my wonderful experience to all who ask.

I am far from home and of course my truck won t move. I spent a day trying to find service for my transmission.No one could help until I called Cooks. When I called he said he could get to it. It would be a couple weeks so I sent it there on a tow truck.Right on time, he had the work done. I was surprised at the low cost. He also gave a one year warranty on the work he did.I am very impressed with his spotless shop and fenced in parking area for the vehicles he is repairing. All in all I rate it a 10/10 but this review only allows 5/5.

I highly recommend Cook's! Chris worked my car in and got it repaired to help me out even though they were busy and shorthanded! He took the time to fully explain my repair and was a pleasure to speak with. I will be using Cook's for all my transmission repairs.

Discovered a puddle of red/pink fluid under my 2013 F150. Had the truck towed to Cook's thinking it might be transmission fluid.Chris called back within a day and said they checked the transmission out and it appeared to be fine. Chris said the fluid leaking appeared to be a red/pink coolant rather than transmission fluid. He referred me back to my regular mechanic to fix the coolant leak. I tried to pay him for checking it out but he said, no charge! How nice it is to find a shop that does that, is honest and tries to help a customer out. Thanks Chris! You guys are great!

This shop is the real deal. They told me exactly what they were gonna do and did exactly what they said they were gonna do, charged me precisely what they said they were gonna charge me, and, more importantly, they did it right. My Expedition runs like a new vehicle now. If you need any type of transmission work, I would highly recommend Cook s Transmission.

These guys are honest and they do an amazing job. I live in New Orleans and broke down in Biloxi and I tell you if I ever have a transmission problem they are the ones I will go back and do business with. This is a company that deserves a lot of business

TJ and management at Cook s go the extra mile!!!! I recently had an issue with my sons truck while he is away at college 4 hours away. I called TJ to discuss the problem and he even tried to help me locate a place closer to fix the problem but I wasn t comfortable after the way I was treated. So I hauled it 4 hours to Cooks. TJ took care of everything from there!!! Cook s treats their customers like family and they want to fix your problem so you never have to come back with same issue.They are a dying breed of business where they want to help you and not take you to the bank. Cook s was recommended by a very respected mechanic friend. I called ahead and discussed my transmission skipping problems and was told to bring it in at a certain time and was promptly greeted. The shop was clean and everyone was very knowledgeable. The diagnosis was free and the whole thing is going to end up costing a lot less than what I was thinking. I would recommend Cook s to anyone!

I had something wrong with my transmission, asked a few local contacts, and they all recommend I take it to Cooks Auto Repair. Needed a new cvt transmission. I had to pay the dealership to diagnose (no engine lights on just felt different driving long distance) and the cost to replace it was what it was worth on kbb. It s still cheaper than buying a new car though but not for only a 1yr/12k mile warranty. I called Cooks and he was able to beat the price with tax included by about $800 plus it came with a 3yr unlimited nationwide warranty. I dropped it off for them to diagnose and asked if they could just look it over to make sure the investment would be worth it. They called the next day to tell me it was the transmission however they did try a few things to see if it could clear. I could tell that they were honest right away. Why would they take the extra time when in reality they are also in a business to earn money. He also looked the entire car over and said the sound I hear is my rear strut but it s not bad and that the car is overall in good condition and explained how cvts work and the issues with them. I never second guessed anything they said. It took about a week for the transmission to get as it was between a holiday but I had no issues with waiting and felt comfortable driving it locally until it was in because again they were honest. There were no diagnostic fees and it took them two days to get everything done. I was actually impressed because when I dropped it off they were busy and the parking lot was full. I wish all businesses ran like them! They are an honest family run business!!Service: Transmission

We came all the way out from Dallas, TX to visit family and our 2005 Chevy suburban's transmission went into failsafe mode. We had Cook's recommended based on reviews from our mechanic in Dallas and drove there immediately. We got there at 3 and left at 3:20. During a trip for the military I found myself having what I thought were transmission issues in my vehicle. Called Cooks transmission and explained the situation to Chris and without hesitation offered to help with the repair and diagnostic. Though my issue was not with the transmission, Chris expressed a level of care that went above and beyond expectations. Even though I was a thousand plus miles away from home, the service provided made me feel at home.

Cook's transmission is not just one of the best mechanic shops around they are one of the best businesses period! They are honest, super fair on price, and do excellent work. Did I mention honest! This is what you want every business in America to be. I bring my vehicles from Slidell to them because of it. Keep up the great work!!!

Dropped my 2007 F150 off on a Monday and they called me complete with a transmission rebuild on Thursday. Price was spot-on...very fair. Great service, fast and reasonable cost. This is the best transmission repair shop on the coast. Honest and dependable, you will not regret taking your vehicle there for service.This is an update to this post. I had to take the truck back for an adjustment because a part in the new transmission from Ford failed. Now pay attention to what I have to say now. They took it back got the part and worked overtime to fix it quickly for me. But now the best part, they delivered my truck to me after hours so I would have it. The Cook brothers are very good at their work but are also great people who care about "old school" customer service and doing the right thing. Don't mess around on the coast, go to them for great service.

These people are amazing. They replaced my transmission, 2 months later, I had some problems, and they fixed them right away. They stick to the warranty. Friendly customer service.
