I talked with Matt who was extremely knowledgeable about my manual transmission, which is hard to find companies to service. He answered all my questions from multiple calls, and was very helpful with everything along the way. I got all the information needed to make my decision on ordering my new ZF6 transmission. After installation I was very happy with my purchase. When I picked up my transmission the lady who helped complete the paperwork and take payment was very friendly and helpful as well. Can't say enough good things about Midwest Transmissions, very happy with my purchase. Great product at a fair price. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend these guys!

Special ordered transmission was delivered quickly with no issues. Core was easily returned and accont credited quickly. Project truck I am working on when I get time so have not got the rebuilt transmission tested at all. If allowed I will update later when I get it running.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

We ordered a replacement manual transmission for a military customer and installed it with all new parts and fluid. Within a month the vehicle was back stuck in gear with a lot of movement from the shifter. We were informed by Midwest that this was from the customer resting their hand on the shifter and were requested to remove the shift fork assembly and return it to Midwest. We had to completely remove the entire transmission and disassemble the part for shipping. It took 3 weeks for midwest to send shipping information so we could get it out of the shop then another two weeks to get it back. We installed the new parts with new fluid and sent the customer on their way. Upon requesting payment for our service of removing their failed part we were given $274 in store credit for our time. I wasn't asking for a lot, just to cover the mechanic. However, with this kind of service, who in their right mind would do business with them again? Buyer bewareService: Transmission

FIVE STAR!! Called 6 months ago and spoke with Adam. I needed a very specific transfer case for a restoration project. I also wanted a slip yoke eliminator installed. However, the parts I wanted were from another manufacturer. They held the transfer case for me and waited patiently until the parts were available. Once the parts came in, they rebuilt the unit and shipped out with a couple of days. Throughout the process, they were very professional, stayed in communication and really knew their stuff. It's hard to find companies like this anymore. Thank you for making this part of our project smooth and efficient. Ryan

The folks at Midwest rebuilt my old Plymouth differential. Although I had some small issues with it, they took care of everything to my satisfaction. I would have them do more work for me in the future. Thanks guys.

Great shop excellent work. They do not cut corners. They even installed a slip yoke eliminator kit on my transfer case and gave me a labor warranty and parts warranty on the part's they provided. Very professional shop !!!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

If I could give less stars I would. Zf5-47 transmission. Great place to take your transmission to if you don't mind taking it back over and over so they can fix their terrible work, and still leave you with a defective transmission. First time - syncros were grinding, 2nd time it was difficult to engage reverse, 3rd time you couldn't get it into any gear at all, I decided to take it apart myself even though I didn't have time, found the gear selector interlock plate deformed and damaged, detents installed incorrectly and one had popped out by itself when I was removing it. Before I took it apart myself, I emailed Scott and he basically blamed it on installer error, which it most certainly was NOT.TL:DR - take your trans elsewhere. This is not the place to go.Edit: the original transmission you recieved was a used unit that I didn't even drive on. The unit you sent out the second time and then had to come back to you again only had a couple miles on it and it most certainly did not have the gears floated. After I had torn it apart, it was obvious carelessness or lack of experience from the builder. I'll update this with pictures. It wasn't installer or user error. Considering the fact that I replaced the interlock and 3-4 shift shaft and now the transmission is fine is a clear indication that there was a problem with the unit.

I was a little skeptical driving my transmission 5 hours and leaving it with a shop I had never worked with before, But Midwest Transmission Center came highly recommended, so road trip it was! The staff was knowledgeable, and friendly, and told me it would be a few weeks at the most. A week later they called to say my transmission was done. When I picked it up, they gave me a complete detail on what was done, and what was replaced, and too my surprise, my manual transmission was also painted and shrink wrapped! Once I got back home, I unwrapped the freshly rebuilt transmission, to say I am a hard person to please would be an understatement, I have extremely high expectations, but I was impressed beyond belief. Midwest Transmission Center did an outstanding job, and I brag about their customer service and quality workmanship to everyone. I would highly recommend Midwest Transmission Center to anyone. Thank you guys again, you've put fresh life into my collector car.Service: Transmission

This company is fantastic. Although I did not buy anything I was In need of help so I used their ask an expert link. I was helped by Scott. This guy knows everything there is to know about these transmissions. He was very tact , knowledgeable and professional I would highly recommend using this company for buying and also getting help with your own transmission projects. Great group of people who are willing to help with information and also offer high quality products.

Ordered transmission service parts for a sm465 transmission and np 205 transfer case. Rebuild kits were complete with everything need to perform a proper rebuild on these units. Parts in the kits were all of good quality. Customer service and technical staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Would definitely do business with them again.Service: Transmission

I spoke with a Midwest Transmission rep on the phone, and they explained why their transmission rebuild kit was a better value than some of the other products on the internet that use cheaper bearings and components. The rep was very knowledgeable and I made my purchase with them based on that. They offer technical support which I don't expect to need, but it's nice to know it's available. During the rebuild of my NV 3550 5 speed. Had ordered parts from another vendor. Parts arrived damaged and vendor had no more in stock. Contacted Midwest and they put together a kit for my needs. Shipped quickly and arrived just when I needed it. Thanks for saving my project and bailing out the other vendor. I have gotten three AX-15 transmissions. All three are working like they should. I have had no issues. The Transmissions were shipped when promised. The old transmissions were shipped to them. The core charges were refunded in a timely manner. Great Company to do business with. Scott will fix you up with what you need.

Very poor communication, completely different price than their quote, difficult to get a receipt for the work, and then after reinstalling it was clear trans wasn't OK. Won't bother with trying to get them to warranty as they were abrasive and rude to begin with, and will never bring another one to them.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Great experience! Ordering with Tim was easy and shipping turn around was very quick. I would give 5 stars, but the transfer case packaging was not terribly sturdy, and the shipper slightly damaged one of the flanges around a mounting bolt. Probably be good if the packaging was better!The transfer case seems to be high quality so far! I recommend MWTC!
