Open course on horribly paved city roads, with inconveniently placed 90* back-in near a huge pothole on an upward driveway with inward leaning poles.Driving examiner was fine and thorough. DMV was efficient inside.

I'm not going to lie I was quite scared after seeing a few peoples reviews. However I believe they didn't give themselves enough time to get there and/or didn't pass. This station had amazing service and I personally got an even better inspector. Josh was very kind, talked with me the whole time and made me feel comfortable. My only complaint would be the parking lot. It is quite tiny so be mindful when you pull up. Awesome place Willmar!

After two hours and a half of my trip from home, The only thing you want is to get to your driving appointment and pass the exam.Thank you Willmar exam station.100% recommendedThe administrative staff and my instructor were excellent service, and attention. They give you the confidence you need to move forward with your driver test. Thank you very much.

I had a really positive experience, and passed the first time! Everyone there was sweet, and very polite. Don t let the negative reviews make you nervous or anything. The test felt short, and the parking was simple, and easy if you practice beforehand. Make sure to be confident, and get there early and drive around to get used to the neighborhood . Goodluck to anyone taking the test!

I gotta say I didn't know what to expect from this place after a 2 and a half hour drive, but all I can say Is that this place made my day, the staff are so friendly, the lady upfront corrected some of the errors from my permit onto my license (it was mostly the fact my permit said that I wear contacts even though I have 20/20 vison) the man who gave me my exam was calm and polite, he clearly stated what I got wrong yet confidently stated that I got everything else good and told me that I passed. I honestly wanted to shake his hand (yet I didn't) I must say it was worth the trip to Willmar.

They Moved a couple blocks away to a larger building. Mark was a professional driving instructor. Clear instructions, asked if I understood every time. Good experience with all the staff!

Drove our daughter 2 hours for her driving test, Doug was a great tester. He may look intimidating at first but was a very nice guy. My daughter was very nervous but relaxed and she passed her first time. The DMV office is a small building with fast service.

sketchy town with decent staff, but a lousy examiner. very little helpful feedback on errors made. if you don't know your way around this small town, the testing location is hard to find! examiners don't care how far you drove to attend, they just want your money. i do not recommend taking your road test here if you plan to pass.

If I could give it a zero Star i would. Drove 2 hours just to get to this place. You really have to find it because the sign is facing the different direction. My Road test was at 1pm I got there at 1:10 because we could not find the right building. You walk in and there is a waiting room. So i waited in the waiting room since there was other people being helped. AND THEN more people instead of waiting in the waiting room started to form a line. Pushed my time further. I waited in line and finally it was my turn the guy at the desk said im 20 mins late so I cant take my road test anymore. Trash place with rude workers. Wasted a whole day going to this dump.

Except for the nice & informative test proctor...BOOO!!! The lack of ANY SIGNS makes this place impossible to find without having to make a few u-turns & blind guesses. The entire strip mall it's in look sketchy & abandoned. This is a view from the street. No markings on the mall sign or on the dark building you see in the picture. So if you're not familiar with the area....GOOD LUCK FINDING IT!!!!

My daughter took her second driver's test at this location after failing her first test in Plymouth. All of the staff members were very helpful and friendly. She was so nervous but she said the instructors were so nice, offered her helpful feedback, and made her feel very comfortable (and she passed!). Worth the long drive!

Great experience at the Willmar Drivers Exam Station on Tuesday June 27th at 9:00 am. Drivers exam was way easier than in the Twin Cities metro, also no lines to also renew license, staff were very friendly.

**Only took drivers tests here. Both times the proctors were pleasant and the area I drove around was pretty peaceful. The test didn t take too long but finding the location was tricky. GPS took us to a different location. Unfortunately, when I was there **less than a year ago the place was understaffed at the front desk so proctors had to do the job of receptionists as well so wait times for your appointment were delayed. But they were very kind and accommodating and managed to fit me in last minute when a different tester arrived late to appointment.

First person in the door, last person to get an exam, people without appointments went before me. Examiner was about the rudest a person has ever been to me despite me offering nothing but smiles. But hey what can you expect from a place that writes "feul gauge" on a checklist.

We had a very positive experience here. The lady greeting us and the driver's test examiner were both very nice and helpful. The examiner talked to me about how my son did on the test and gave us helpful tips. The people at the license center to process his DL were also very nice and the wait time was only 20 min.

We had a great experience, the woman at front desk was friendly and helpful, the examiner was friendly, professional and helpful, he gave us directions to the DVS to finish process and get daughter her license. From the time we arrived to the exam station to leaving the DVS with my daughter s temporary license took about an hour. Very positive experience for a nervous girl taking her test for the first time.

The strip mall they're located in has had a facelift within the last 6:-8 months. There are freshly poured sidewalks, new overhangs on the roofs over the sidewalks, a smooth, new coat of paint on the panels of siding which brightens and uplifts the entire corner it's connected to. Busy but polite employees ~ no extra chatter while they process your transaction - however their serious and focused attitude gets the job done.

We drove out here from the Cities so my son could take his driving test before his permit expired. It was a great experience. The woman that helped us at the counter was helpful and nice. The examiner was great..nice, polite, professional. And the woman that helped us with the final part where he finished the paperwork to get his license was super friendly. They were all great and I'm glad it's over.

Great place, nice peopleTook the road test and passed in less than 10 minutesYou do the parallel and 90-degree parking in the parking lot. Then you exit onto the road and drive past Westside Liquor (remember to come to a complete stop behind the sidewalk when you re coming out of the parking lot). Then you take a right into a neighborhood area, do your downhill park, make a couple turns, and get back onto the main road back to the exam station. I m assuming not all the routes are the same, but this was the one I had and they re probably all similar.

The older gentleman that did my daughters driving exam was extremely RUDE!!! Quite obviously my daughter was nervous and his rude comments and mumbling made her experience awful, almost had her in tears!! He literally SHOOED us away at the end!!! If you can go somewhere else I strongly recommend it. I do not recommend this drivers exam station to anyone. They obviously don't have patience for teenage drivers!!

I did my second road test here after failing my first in St Cloud. My examiner was the older man with the sunglasses and the blue jacket. He did not speak very clearly, and made rude remarks throughout the exam. Everything was going fine on the exam until I had to turn off the highway back to the parking lot, where a truck ran a red light and I had to swerve. He proceeded to fail me for this calling it a "dangerous act". The rest of the staff that I met in the building were professional and helpful; I cannot say the same for my examiner.

I had the worst experience in Willmar while taking my test for my driver's license. In the beginning we started off in the parking lot and he told me to take a left at the intersection.. Correct me if I'm wrong but an intersection is not a parking lot. When I asked him a question to clarify this situation, he replied with, "Well duh, there's only one way." After perfectly completing my parallel park and 90 degree back, we proceeded to the stoplight and down the road. He then took me around two blocks and made me perform a downhill park. After my downhill park, I looked over my left shoulder to pull out and continue on my way. (When we got back he said I needed to look over my right shoulder even though that was the sidewalk.) After the downhill park he made me drive back to the parking lot and I guess we were finished. He told me maybe one or two things that I did wrong but he wasn't very thorough. Next, he told me that I did not receive enough points to pass and after that he got out of my car. I sat in the car waiting for my mom, pretty distraught because here I have been driving for over a year with my parents and I have never had any problems. Supposedly while I was in the car, my mom wanted to ask him a few questions but he wouldn't answer any that my mom had for him! The receptionist tried to answer some of the questions for my mom but she still asked him to help her and when she asked for help he said to her, "You seem to be doing a good job." Such a disrespectful guy and how unprofessional of him to say such a thing and not help my mom out with a few questions. On our way home (which was almost a 2 hour drive), my mom called back to ask a few more questions that she had come up with. She wanted to know why he had put a 1 week restriction on me and why there weren't any points written on my yellow slip. (He put a 1 week restriction on me to practice the things I didn't "complete right" when he never told me what I did wrong in the first place.) Then, when my mom asked her about points, she replied with, "Only he knows the points." Okay, but how am I supposed to know how good of a job I did and how close I was to passing? You would think that these instructors would want to help me become a better driver, not just fail me and not tell me what I did wrong and what I could do to fix these mishaps. After that question my mom asked another question about what was on the sheet (because she couldn't read his handwriting) and he said that I didn't react to something the way that he wanted me to. I'm sorry, but nothing happened in those 2 blocks when I was driving. He never said anything either. Not everyone will react to things the way that you want them to..Thank you whoever you are for being so rude and unprofessional to me and not helping me with what I need to work on. Hopefully I will get a much nicer instructor next time who does this job because they like helping kids instead of just failing them for no good reason.

I had scheduled my test using the state online DMV appointment system. Apparently my appointment never actually got scheduled into their system. I drove 2 hours to take my test and they were completely booked. Thankfully both the front desk staff and the examiners were super great and took the extra time to fit me in. Saved my day! I had a really tight turn around for NEEDING my license and they saved my bacom.

I called these people before I left to take my driver's license exam to verify what I needed in order to be prepared. After making the two hour trip they wouldn't let me take my exam, stating I didn't have the correct documents. I brought exactly what they told me to bring on the phone. You would think that someone in this profession would know how to do their job correctly. What an absolute waste of a day. I will definitely be returning to a different location.
