This place is great. Had radiator replaced and brake job done, in and out time was a few hours. Amazing people doing amazing work. I will return as my vehicles need repairs. Thank you for a job well done.

Big shoutout to Autumn, Dave, Jake and Jason up at Central Automotive. Truly some of the best customer service I ve ever received. Polite, accommodating and fast service are just a few ways to describe the service I ve received at this auto shop. Truly lucky to have them in my neck of the woods, but even if they weren t, I d still go to this shop. Thanks for keeping my cars in top shape and me safe on the road throughout the years everyone! This is a really good shop.The mechanics have been honest, and reasonably priced.While other mechanics have a 2 week plus wait time to fix a car. These guys are always able to do it the same day, or the next day.Jake has made me a lifetime customer.

I brought in 2 headlight bulbs to be installed. They said it was $155 an hour for the labor. They came stating that one bulb didn't fit and it would be $400. Then they said I would need new wiring and a new harness, and that's $850. Stay clear of this place. Unless you like getting ripped off.from.I went to another shop. They told me what bulb to get. They installed it without having to change out the wiring and harness. Simple fix.

The staff at Central Automotive were absolutely fantastic. Our car broke down on vacation. Not only did they provide us with a loaner vehicle, they fixed our car quickly so that we were able to continue on with the rest of our trip with minimal interruptions. Very friendly staff to boot! Highly recommend!

Great people and great service. I brought my car there to have the timing components replaced. They were honest and upfront with me the whole time. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that they take their time informing you of delays. Overall, I would recommend this place to any of my friends.

Was recommended this place by a friend. I just needed a check up on my car and was quoted $60 when I called and asked but after the check they kindly didn t charge me.

I ll start by saying Dave was nice and had great customer service skills.I was quoted $38 for an oil change over the phone which is why I went here over TGK. My total for an oil change was actually $61. A week prior to this, someone I know got the same thing for $38, prompting me to take my business here and not with TGK. The timing is a little too convenient, and seems very sketchy.Don t offer a price on the phone and charge something else, then blame it on the computer or the person behind the counter who read it wrong. That s on you to cover the difference of the mistake, not me. Posting a review so someone else doesn t get ripped off like I was.

I'm quite grateful for the professionals at Central Auto. I was able to get my vehicle checked out quickly, and repaired after taking a curb too tight, wondering if I had damaged anything. They were kind and efficient, repairing things quickly for me. I've used them several times. Once I explained what I needed done only to find out that part of what I thought was in need of repair was actually okay. They were the ones to let me know and they saved me money. They could have done the complete repair as requested but they were honest and stopped at only the needed repair after notifying me. That repair was excellent and the honesty was too. Btw, their prices are also reasonable . I highly recommend.

The heater on my 2011 Ford F-150 failed on a cold winter day. Central Auto diagnosed and repaired it effectively and efficiently in a one day appointment, as promised. They have earned me as a new customer for all my automotive needs. Thanks you. J M

Great experience for a quick oil change. They also provided a list of a few other things that my car needs work on. The big difference though was that there was no pressure from them to complete the work right now. I will definitely return to them.

They replaced the alternator but never checked the alternator drive gear.Started the car and it failed in their parking lot. Her 400 alternator replacement turned into 1000 dollar replacement. I wouldn't trust them to repair a flat tire. The manager gave her a song and dance that she didn't pay the 100 diagnostic charge that the drive gear wasn't covered. So a code check is going to tell you about a bad drive gear? My opinion is they just forgot to check the drive gear or tighten a bolt and she payed the price but never again with them. Since the owner decided to chime in thought I would do an update. A simple seach for alternator replacement for a 2007 Volvo XC-90 states that the drive gear needs to be checked when replacing the alternator and his mechanic missed it and double billed the customer for his mistake. Called passing the buck.The owner actually using the customer's name in his reply screams of unprofessionalism.The pulley that was replaced was taken to the Volvo dealership in maplewood and inspected by both the parts department and a Volvo mechanic. They determined that there was nothing wrong with the pulley. They stated that the very rarely sell the pulley but the bolt that holds it on is purchased frequently. Seems she probably didn't need an alternator or pulley but a bolt replaced witch wasn't. Hopefully they enjoy their 1000 dollars of ill gotten gain.

Dave, and his crew are hard working and honest. He has put together a crew of the finest mechanics I've ever dealt with. I started going there in late 2017 haven't been anywhere else since, all our vehicles we take there, have always been taken care of properly, promptly, and almost always under bid.Thanks Dave!

Brought my truck in for a repair. Then noticed a leak in the same area, so I thought it wasn't fixed correctly. I brought it back & spoke to Dave, the owner & he was quick to get to the bottom of the issue, which was unrelated & repaired it at no cost to me!! Now, that's customer service at its finest! Will continue to bring & recommend Central Automotive any day! Thanks Dave, you guys are great!

I ve had my vehicle into Central twice in the last month or so. I came away from both experiences more than impressed with the knowledge and more importantly, the service. The first experience was a fairly simple repair, but the first place I brought it to didn t fix it. Central did. Dave (the owner) also explained what had caused the issue and recommended some additional service, which I knew was necessary soon, but opted to delay fixing it. The second time, my wife, kids and I were on our way out of town and the heat index was 115 and our AC was showing signs of failing. I called late on a Friday afternoon and explained this to Dave and he says swing on in and we ll take a look. I was there 10 minutes later, camper in tow and pulled up to an open bay door and was met by Dave and another mechanic. They had my AC fixed, fluids topped off and radiator cleaned in about 15 minutes and we were on our way. I will never go to another auto repair shop. These guys, especially Dave, are what you hope your repair shop would be like.

Took a vehicle for a used car inspection and got a detailed report for 42.00. I was told I could come back with two more for free essentially because that price covered 3 inspections. Bought said vehicle, very satisfied. Straight forward mechanics with great prices, which is very appreciated.

I've had a great many broken cars. Central Automotive is the only place I'll bring my cars now. They are extremely fair priced, always are able to fix my cars, and they're able to do it fast so I can have my car back all fixed up. The staff is always very nice. Other paces in town will tell you to fix things that don't need fixing or charge you double what Central will charge you for the same work. Hands down best Auto repair in town!

I had a right window regulator replaced more than 3 years ago. I had to take it back 4 times and it still wasn't quite right. The window really struggled to go up. I got weary of going back there after spending $400.00+ for this...... 3 years to the date, the window fell through the door. They had closed early this particular Saturday, so I went over to Fred's Tires and low and behold, there was one of the 3 guys that had worked on my window. He at least helped me to get it up to tape it. He remembered working on that window. So, due to the high cost, I rode around with the window taped up for over a year until I found a very thorough and trustworthy mechanic in Lake Elmo through word of mouth. They've got my business now. Even though I had to dish out over $400.00 for another regulator, it is working like a charm, so fine and smooth, the way it should have been done the first time. The new mechanic said the cables were all twisted and messed up when he originally looked at it. :(

Wow. I will never go anywhere ever again. They have the most fair pricing, and it cost me way less to have my belts replaced and other things fixed than anywhere I've ever been. Jason and his team take their time to explain everything to you and are completely transparent. They are also kind and humorous, and make you feel completely comfortable once you walk through the door. HIGHLY recommened

I usually don't write reviews unless im extremely impressed or extremely dissatisfied. Here are the reasons ill never go back. 1) The tech left grime from his hands on the inside door handle. 2) I was told an alignment was 68 and I was charged round 94.00. 3) I left the car there for two days for work and instructed to leave the car locked because I was going to pick up on Sunday with another set of keys I have. It was not locked. 4) They did not provide the info sheet on the alignment. My wife (the primary driver) questions if one was really done and I also noticed no difference. When I called on this I was told it was fine when they drove it but its interesting because there was hardly any fuel left in the car before I took it in. Ill gladly spend double for service at a local dealer after this experience.

Had a flat tire on my way home which is not Stillwater. Stopped at Central Automotive @ 5:30 pm and asked if they could change the tire. The person behind the counter said "he couldn't spare anyone to do it." I had to change it myself in their parking lot. During the process of doing it, I somehow cut my thumb. I go inside to grab some tissues or a rag and there, standing behind the counter, are SIX people staring at me and not saying a word. I grab tissues for my bleeding thumb and proceed to walk out. At the door I say loudly, "Thanks for the help!" to which the guy who said they were too busy respond with, "You're welcome!". After 20 minutes a gentleman walks out, apologizes for there being no stalls available, and proceeds to help me outside. I greatly appreciated the help from him and another guy who came out after, but it was too little, way too late.

I've been taking my vehicles to Dave for many years now which I will continue to do so! Dave is a very knowledgeable and honest mechanic with good prices. I have nothing but GOOD things to say about Dave and the guys at central automotive!!
