My vehicle was towed here after getting damaged beyond it's value. Always has been friendly and reasonable with prices as well. It's hard to find competent mechanic shops that don't try and up sell you the kitchen sink. Definitely check them out!

Always great service at Kennedy Transmission in Shakopee. Sherman and his team are great, they let you know if they see something outside of the repair scope discussed, but never feels like they're hunting for the next repair to charge you more money. I appreciate their professionalism and honestly.

Kennedy helped me after a very bad experience with another shop. Kennedy got me a tow truck, got my truck in, had my transmission evaluated in in 1 days and had my truck back to me in 3 more days(excellent turnaround for a big job). They let me know the options, any concerns, prices for all options and got me a good deal, especially considering what had been done by the other shop. They called me with updates and were very helpful. I can't recommend this shop enough. As a mechanic my self, I can tell you they are very honest, ethical, and did the job right. This shop saved my lively hood and ability to take care of my family.Service: Transmission

I manage multi million dollar technology projects for the largest banking institution in Canada. My car went into this shop with zero dash warning lights on. When they had me come pick it up there were five warning lights on, they charged me 60% more than they estimated, and two weeks later my alternator went out. I took the car to my trusted mechanic in Iowa and they verified that the work I was additionally charged for was unnecessary. My previous mechanic explained an easy way to resolve the issue Kennedy charged me for. Kennedy states they wouldn t be in business for thirty years if they didn t know what they were doing, yet I hand them multiple thousands of dollars and they can t tell me why my warning lights are appearing after their work . I would say they know exactly what they re doing and they won t be doing it to my vehicle in the future.

We were traveling and our Subaru had issues. Sherman was extremely helpful and honest about our issues and the chances for it working out. He got them taken care of, thankfully it worked in our favor. We couldn t be more happy with the their service. Would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Thank you for always getting the work done fast and efficient. I always come here for an oil change because they have coupons, but I would come regardless because they are friendly, fast, and have same day appointments to bring my car in. I would definitely recommend this business to my family and friends. My boyfriend starting using their services too and says their prices are the best!

I have been going to Kennedy Transmission for over a decade. I can truly say that every time I have had work done, I have been pleased with the experience. They are an honest business which is sometimes hard to find these days. There have been times I've asked about having a service done and Sherm has told me it doesn't need doing. This is a quality business where quality work is done.

Thank you again Kennedy Transmission for excellent service. The staff is friendly and honest they will work hard to keep your car running in top condition. I do not know much about cars which I know can result in being taken advantage but this never happens at Kennedy they are honest and transparent.

Wish I could leave "Fair" out of the title of this review. There was nothing fair about the service they gave me. Bought a used car with about 75,000 miles on it. IT WAS WORKING FINE, but to get things started on the right foot, I took it to Kennedy to have them change the fluid and filter and check it out. They came back and told me they had to rebuild the transmission - it wasn't going to last much longer. That little excursion cost me $2100! Oh, and on the way home, it wasn't working right. Took it back, over and over. Nope. Still not right. NINE trips later, and it was finally working again. We should be fine for a good long while now, right? Nope! 2 years later, the transmission is toast. NEVER AGAIN, Kennedy!

Oddly enough I was told not to bring my car to Kennedy by a friend because someone's year warranty had expired on the replaced part and the party was charged for replacement of the part. But as a "sensible" person I understand mechanics can only guarantee their work for a year because some drivers are ridiculously hard on their vehicles and replacement may not be due to the fault of the mechanic. I was having difficulty with shifting gears in my clutch and they immediately diagnosed the issue correctly, they were accomodating by quickly repairing my vehicle the same day at a very reasonable price. Kennedy's knows all too well I'm a DIY kinda girl and will only bring my car in if it's something I can't fix myself. They have done over $1300 worth of work on my car and every time I drive away I'm grinning from ear to ear knowing that the work has been quality. I also recently had both my front axles replaced, went in for an oil change shortly after and they found an axle seal was leaking which needed to be repaired right away. When I went to pay, they only charged me for the part and not the labor because they were unsure as to whether or not they had caused the damage at the axle repair. This is honesty in it's truest form and Kennedy Transmission is my trusted auto repair shop. They do everything for you, not just Tranny's. I'm SO glad they are my mechanics and honestly surprised with the lip they put up with from me ;) Good people with big hearts which is hard to find these days!

Just have to say how GLAD I am that we brought our '08 van into you guys. Came here to get a second opinion after another place told us we needed a new transmission (cost, $2,340). The guys at Kennedy checked it out and said we didn't need a new transmission after all, but instead needed new wheel bearings and a caliper was frozen on the rotor. This still isn't a "cheap" fix, but however, MUCH less than the $2,340 we thought we were going to have to spend. And actually, it would have ended up being even more than that because we would have had the wrong thing fixed. If you want an HONEST mechanic, go here.

I was told I needed a valve replaced in my transmission to fix my car issue. The minute after I paid $2,100 to get my transmission fixed and drove it out of the parking lot my car suddenly had severe issues it didn t have before, and now I basically cannot drive it at all. They do things without asking, then on the receipt it won't even tell you what they're charging for. Got charged 350% more than the other inspection I got and I didn't even ask for this one. I had already told them what was wrong with the car.
