Very quiet during the week. Sauna was nice. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and fireplace which were both nice perks. There is also a shower but water pressure was awful. The fireplace is gas and the blower is very loud and would wake me every time it came on. We left it off the second night. Many hiking trails nearby. Our room was in building D and had a fantastic view of the lake on one side and the woods on the other where I saw two deer the morning we checked out. My husband also saw a snake outside! Owners are very friendly and ready to help if you have any questions! There is also a fire pit and grills to use but we did not use either. Would definitely recommend this place if you are coming to the North Shore.

We stayed at Superior Ridge Resort this past weekend. The accommodations are extremely clean and well cared for. The owners live onsite and were very kind each time we had questions or needed something. This was our second time staying here. I highly recommend this place!!

We stayed here for 6 nights while we were in the area for a hiking trip. We loved it. We had a room with a lakeview, fireplace, and whirlpool. Fireplace made for a warm cozy sleep and is easily controlled by a dial on the wall. There's also an alternate heating system in the room if you dont want to use the fireplace. Pretty clean. I dont know how you clean jets in a whirlpool but if theres a way, I would suggest it as some stuff did come out of them when we started them. The only cons here are that the water pressure isn't great and walls are thin so if your neighbors talk loud, you're gonna hear it. We didn't have any issues with that after dark though. People were quiet during those times. Location was great and put us right in the center of the 8 state parks we planned on visiting. The furthest we had to drive to a park was 1 hour 15 min. Our building was at the top of the hill so we even got to see the Northern lights from right ouside the building in the parking area! Definitely will be staying here again next time we are in the area.

I have been staying there for many many years all the way back to when they first opened and not all the buildings were there. All the way back to the huge chinook runs when our daughter was in school at the UofM, when my father was still with us. I payed his stay for several days for their anniversary, up to present skiing at Lutsen. Lots of ski trips. Bruce and his wife are wonderful people. Even sharpen your skiis building!! (bring your own wax and files). Thanks Bruce and family!!!

This place is such a hidden gem if you're looking for affordable and comfortable accommodation. The owners were so friendly and helpful and the prices were good for that area of the North Shore. Our room (D3) was a double queen room with a gas fireplace, fridge, and microwave. The room itself was huge and had a lovely view of the forest (see photo) as well as a nice bathroom. Most importantly, the whole place was spotless! I will definitely be staying there again and highly recommend it.

The view was beautiful. The room was spacious and far enough from the road you can't hear the traffic. Check-in and check-out was contactless. Unfortunately the mattresses had seen better days, and the carpet needed replaced. A great place to spend a night or two.

Great place to stay very clean nice warm cabins. We recently stayed on a snowmobile trip perfect, the trail was feet from our cabin will for sure be back to stay again. The management was super friendly! The view from our window looked like a nature picture. If you or your family is driving up the north shore and need a real nice place to stay without breaking the bank, this is for sure it. Thank you.

Day of 2 of a 4 day retreat and loving it. The two bedroom suite is spacious and still packed with all the essentials. The kitchen has all the utensils and appliances. The bathrooms are clean and full stocked with towels. The outdoor patio has a dinning place and a nice view of the woods. Definitely a great place to stay and explore Lake Superior.

At the last minute, we decided to take a road trip up the North Shore, and had trouble finding a hotel along the way - and found out Superior ridge had one room available last weekend (mid-July 2021), and honestly didn't have high expectations, or any expectations at all, but were really pleasantly surprised! There are five or six separate buildings with I believe four apartments in each, The owner told me is was the most 'bare bones' room they had, but it was big, probably twice the size of an average hotel room. It was spotless, quiet, and comfy. When checking in there is a big DVD rack, and all the rooms have DVD players in them (as well as cable) and we found a couple of classics to borrow and watch at night. There was also sauna, though we didn't get a chance to try it, but did check it out, and looked great and clean. We will be staying here again, hopefully soon!

Great stay at a great price! We had room E2, which was ridiculously roomy, updated, clean and decent view of the lake right out the window. Staff was pleasant and helpful. If you're looking to save while having a great base of operations for your North Shore adventures, this is THE place.

Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. For a vacation checking out waterfalls on the Northshore, the accommodations are in a great location. My review would be worth 5 stars based on the the aforementioned comments. However, like everything along the Northshore, everything is grossly overpriced. A visit to the Northshore is a "one-and-done" based on benefit & experience versus cost.

This motel exceeded all our expectations. It was clean, quiet, and cozy. The owners are truly wonderful folks who pay attention to detail. The room we stayed in was all the way up on the top of the hill, and it was lovely with all the snow, especially with the huge vaulted ceiling and fireplace. The private sauna session was just what our girls' weekend needed after hitting up the slopes! I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks to the owners, you really have something special, and I will be returning next year. A great value!

Nice, affordable accommodations in a great spot on the North Shore. My family has visited frequently for 10+ years and keeps coming back. The owners are very responsive and helpful, plus they ve established good COVID procedures.

We stayed here on our way to the BWCA and were super impressed! I wasn't expecting much, but the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, it had all the kitchen amenities we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the owners were super accommodating of our late arrival. I would definitely recommend this as a cute place to stay and explore the North Shore!

I took my niece on a girls trip to celebrate her 18th birthday. She wanted a cabin experience with decent amenities. Superior Ridge was a great compromise with reasonable rates. The view out our window looked exactly like the photos on the website. It was gorgeous and still smelled like fresh cut wood (we stayed in E1). It was peaceful and quite and a great location for our day trips. We loved that there were family friendly DVD's available to watch when you're ready to turn in for the night. I'm already talking to my husband about planning a trip and staying here. Two thumbs up.

Stayed for one night on the weekend of May 6th, 2017. Checking in was quick and easy. There was a slight mix up once we got to the room but Bruce was great and took the time to explain the situation and rectify it. The room itself was clean and super cute! We loved the view and the fireplace in the room. Definitely made for a relaxing experience. The only thing is that the water pressure in the shower was a little weak. While checking out Bruce suggested a breakfast spot for us to stop in so we did. Had a great breakfast before we hit the road home. We can't wait to go back and spend a full weekend!
