I had a small issue with my audi. Took it there for help in diagnosing the issue. As soon as they found out that I worked on the car, they refused to service it. Basically got lectured about how I have no idea what I'm doing and that working on my car was beneath them. They are probably very good at what they do, but very frustrated that they refused to service my car. If you work on your own cars, don't take it here if you need help, you won't get it.

Dave was extremely condescending and rude. I was treated very poorly. He told me my battery was bad, which was untrue. My battery has been working fine even 3 months later. I wish I had never stepped foot in his shop.

Kinda glad they refused my service because I went to Mercedes rightafter and Mercedes took care of me. Left with a 23 to drive as a loaner and when I walked into here and was open and honest about my problems I was refused service. They would not even do the oil change for me and that s all I really needed. Come to find out I had a warranty extended for a common issue and Mercedes took care of me! Not here !(P.s the comment back was not what you told me to do .. I left crying from your shop because NEVER have I ever been refused service. It was a blessing for me myself to make that decision, you told me straight up you were not going to touch my car. You never told me to go to Mercedes dealer. Just fyi.)

Highly overpriced & overrated. This is the only business I've ever encountered that refused to work on my car. All I did was ask some questions & they guy starts bitching about how he basically doesn't have time for me & implying that I couldn't afford his rates. The dude insulted my intelligence & made me feel like a fool for attempting to work on my own car. They seem to prefer that their customer base remains ignorant in order to charge dealer pricing. This place is not worth the the effort. There are other shops in town that do much better work & will not treat you like garbage.

I trust Dave implicitly with my car. If he says something needs to be serviced, I believe him. He has earned my business.

Dropped my car off for a diagnosis, (Crank Sensor Code) was told my expansion tank exploded during the diagnosis process and that in order to move forward the Expansion Tank & Water Pump needed to be replaced and the total would be roughly $1000. Drove my car all over MN for 4 weeks after my purchase but when I drop the car off it suddenly explodes while idling in the shop...? He charged me $600 for 3 hours of labor and gave me my car back in worse condition than when I dropped it off. Seems fishy to me but I am not a certified mechanic I suppose.

Got home after two months in Arizona. Battery doesn't take a charge from sitting in the garage. Trickle charger failed and frozen Battery? Called Dave and he told me to put a new battery in and get a good one. (I'm capable) Otherwise I was gonna get it up to Rochester which is 55 miles away somehow. New battery and then everything started and was perfect. Dave saved me money and now has a new customer. He charged nothing for his phone advice. Thanks Dave!!!Service: Battery

I had a headlight bulb go out on my mini cooper and I brought it in to be replaced and he was able enough to fit me in very quickly. He gave me an amazing price. Service was quick and overall excellent! Will be returningService: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I contacted this establishment, which I thought specialized in German vehicles. I need a diagnosis done to it to determine what was causing my misfiring symptoms. They charged me $200 plus tax, to do what I've already done to my car this far. With that amount of money, you would think they would do an extensive diagnostic and troubleshooting to determine the cause and offer their price to fix it. No. He pretty much ran a BMW software, which I have, and did a little basic manual troubleshooting and said that he's finished and there's nothing else he can do for it. I understand a certain level of competency when it comes to vehicles, let alone, German. But to charge me for basically nothing and tell me the issue without delving deeper into it to see the cause of the issue. This is why only a certain shop can touch any of my cars. If you don't have the knowledge how to do things, but just the basics. Then I think they should express that. $200 is ridiculous for the level of diagnostics they perform. Nice guy. But I won't use them again.

The shop was communicative and was able to get the work done promptly. I appreciated their experience and honesty. I dropped the car off before they opened and left the key in their drop box. I see myself utilizing their services for future repairs and maintenance in the future. It's been about two weeks since they serviced my car and I've had no issues with the parts they worked on or touched.Given the current situation going on world wide, they were courteous and minimized any direct contact between us: payment was done over the phone, car was left in the service vestibule when I went to pick it up, and the keys were in the center console.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

Dave was a true pleasure to work with and I couldn't be happier with the result. He very clearly explained what needed to be fixed now, would will need to be fixed but can wait and what the risk is to waiting, and what could be put off indefinitely.I'm from out of town so he also helped coordinate getting my car to and from the tire shop so I would have the new tires I needed before he did the alignment. On our way in to town we hit something that had come off a truck in front of us so he even took time as they were closing to put our car up on a hoist to make sure no damage was done.It is wonderful to not only have a mechanic you trust but who also makes the process educational and enjoyable. I won't lie and say I can't wait to go back but know I will be well taken care of when I do.

Dave at Werkstatt is fantastic and took such great care of my vehicle! I appreciate the time he takes to investigate issues before just jumping in to fix something as there as sometimes underlying issues. This ensures that the problem gets fixed the first time! Dave takes his time to explain everything he is doing and puts it into terms that everyone, including me, can understand! He gives you the information and recommendations and then the power is back in your hands on how you d like to proceed with your vehicle s repair. I appreciate that! Werkstatt 533 is the place to go with your Euro vehicles for sure!

I was in Rochester and was having problems with my S60R. What are the chances of finding a reliable, trustworthy Volvo mechanic within a half mile of Mayo. Well I got lucky and ended up at Werkstatt. Dave was the kindest person, dropped everything to take a look at my car and help me out. He went way beyond anything I would ever expect and determined that my car would be safe to drive back to the cities to get work done by my local mechanic. I wish that I lived in Rochester because Werkstatt is a special place and would get all my business Thanks again for all your help and advice that day Dave, I really appreciate what you did. Thank you!!!!

My boyfriend and I would NEVER use this service again. If you are in your early 20 s or younger you will be treated with complete disrespect to the point of screaming in your face. They broke a bolt on my boyfriend s vehicle and charged HIM for fixing the labor time of his mistake. The owner screamed at him for 20 minutes for asking him to make a break down of the bill. The vehicle he drives has catless down pipes. Initially, they called and said it appeared someone stole the catalytic converter and done a poor welding job. We asked them to check again because my boyfriend purchased the car less than a year ago and should have high quality exhaust. After looking again they confirmed that it actually was done well and they are the name brand they are supposed to be. I would never expect a business owner to rest a customer in that manner. I wish that this one review could out do the rest, but sadly i know it will not. I do hope that anyone reading this will find somewhere else. No one deserves to ever be treated like that ever. The reason we even came here was because he drives a BMW and there are few places that are able to work on German vehicles. We saw the good reviews and tried it out. A regrettable decision. To the owner I hope you are reading this because he knows exactly what vehicle and person this is about. I m sure he is laughing smugly to himself.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I reached out to this company via their online form on their website asking for a quote for normal maintenance. I never received a response back.UPDATE 2022 - I called and spoke with Dave again, asking for an idea of what simple maintenance on a MB would cost - Schedule A and B service - or at least line item for me what an oil change and tire rotation and balance would be.Refused to do it claiming it's better if they see the vehicle first and tell you what you need -- really?? I can tell you vehicles need a regular oil change and need regular tire rotations. I can understand certain service intervals are more involved than others and while I appreciate him trying to explain it under the guise of 'we're trying to save you money' - at least answer a straightforward question.Found another mechanic (Joe's) who has and will continue to work on our cars simply because they communicate upfront, are honest and tell you what you do and don't need. Added Bonus - Joe's has a courtesy shuttle that can pick you up and drop you off without having to wait - Werkstatt does not - and who has time to wait all day at a mechanic for simple work?

Excellent service. Dave was able to provide me with a service appointment on very short notice, and the issue on my 2008 Mini Cooper was diagnosed quickly and accurately. No unnecessary upsell or nonsense like I've had at some of the Mini Cooper dealer service centers in the past. I highly recommend this shop. They're just getting back on their feet after a fire last spring, so they're not at full capacity yet this winter, but they went the extra mile to get my vehicle back up and running.

I am happy to give Dave at Werkstatt 533 the FIVE recommendation. His knowledge, professionalism and flexibility all factor in to this review and recommendation. I would STRONGLY recommend anyone with a German Import, in Rochester and surrounding area, to have Werkstatt 533 do your routine and non routine maintenance. You will not be disappointed. Cheers!!!

Dave is phenomenal. He has always been honest and truthful with me. He never asks to replace parts that aren't broken. I wish he worked on all makes of cars. I have no concerns about owning a German auto because I know it will be well taken care of.

Have owned German cars my entire life and Dave is one of the most knowledgeable mechanics I have brought my cars to. He gave the same level of detail to our old Jetta TDI as he does to our Audi S5. I have recommended Werkstatt to many others and won't hesitate to continue to do so.

Had trouble with the car and being out of town, Dave was able to get me in that day and diagnosis the problem quickly. He also went out of his way to help with accommodations. He had the car ready the next day. I feel Dave is very knowledgeable and prices are very reasonable. I wish this shop was closer to me so I could revisit.

Outstanding service and knowledge at a fair price. I had a battery die and they tested and charged it up for no cost. Went back and had electronics repaired. They gave me several different options using new and used parts and got the job done for hundreds less. Most importantly they treated me respectfully and did the work in time and correctly the first time.

Very nice and knowedgible staff. Definitely keeps the customers best interest, as well as their wallets, in mind. I can only speak to their Volvo work, but would expect it follow to the other manufacturer's they work on. A good repair shop is great to find!

I would NEVER take an electrical problem to this facility.I have an older BMW that needs electrical repair. I talked with Dave and explained the problem, he told me that electrical was his strength. I explained i was willing to commit $1000 to get the electrical repaired. I went to pick up my vehicle (6-months later) and the initial problems were not repaired. Dave wanted the full $1k but gave me a $75 break for paying in cash. I drove the vehicle home and in 2 days the batteries were dead. I charged the batteries and now I have no headlights, heat or AC, no dash lights and the vehicle is only driving in limp mode. None of these were the initial problem.I contacted Dave to see if he would take responsibility for his work but have not heard from him. I would NEVER take an electrical problem to this facility. As per my instruction you were to diagnose the oil leak and spend up $1k resolving the electrical issues. I have owned this car for 15yrs and it always had heat & AC, dash lights, and headlights. and it NEVER EVER was in limp mode in 15yrs. Now i get it back from you and all of these issues plus nothing resolved on the original issue. Why would anyone tell you just to spend money and not fix anything??????????Where was the response to my email directly to you to resolve this ??I will make sure to spread the news!JUST AN UPDATE THEY DIDN'T FIX THE OIL LEAK EITHER, OIL ALL OVER MY GARAGE FLOOR. THANKS FOR TAKING MY MONEY AND FIXING NOTHING!!!TIME FOR COURT

Was referred to Dave by a friend a little after the shops opening and have been returning ever since. I wouldn't want to bring my 85 Volvo elsewhere. Honest, knowledgable, and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality service.

This place is the best for German car owners. Run by an awesome guy (Dave). I personally do not trust dealers. this guy helped me buying my car (Audi 2007) last year and he has been my mechanic since then.

Honestly one of the best experiences I've had getting my car serviced. Great communication, small shop, trustworthy, friendly, and the work is done at a way better price than the dealer. Thanks again guys.

Referred to Workstatt by a friend. I was able to get the VW Bug in the same day I called, and Dave diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. Reasoonably priced and extremely clean shop. Would definitely go to him again.

I was just purchasing a classic vehicle from the previous owner who was having the work done here. I came to pick up the car and it wouldn't start, but the guys helped me get it started and loaded up for transport even though I wasn't even their customer. That really speaks volumes about this shop going above and beyond with their work.
