Carl had done great work for me in the past, but now i'll be finding a different mechanic. Had him repair an oil leak a few month ago and that seemed to have went well, but now it's leaking again and Carl won't return my calls and actively declines my calls to have him take a look. Accountability seems to be lacking

My family and I moved to Rochester from Anchorage,Alaska in 2019. I've always had dependable Mechanics I could have a personal bond with.I will only trust Carl to work on all of our vehicles, great mechanic and awesome person. He will get it done and get it done right. Thanks S&S

Wanted to give small shops a try, as my former mechanic of 11 years was a small three man team in the shop. Went in for quote on struts and wheel bearing, decided to only replace the wheelhub assembly. Wheel bearings were replaced, parts were more expensive than usual but I can account that to the economy's current state, and I was sent on my way.I drive this vehicle on average twice a week. A month later, I change my wheels to my winters. My front two tires had been destroyed because my alignment was knock out of place so bad. Went back to the shop, first thing Karl says is "anything time you do suspension work you need to get the alignment done". Of course, Karl replaced my wheel hub assembly, never once mentioned he knocked my alignment out of line so bad I needed to go get an alignment. Talked with my old mechanic, who said that Karl likely didn't bother to check the alignment to make sure it was in at least a drivable condition, which he said can be done without an alignment machine, which performs precise alignment adjustments. Which brought up the other question of whether he checks other primary functions when working on a repair that involves multiple moving pieces.Karl said "I should have told you to go get an alignment", and left it at that. Karl said he was not going to do anything, despite now my vehicle having an alignment issue and two tires out of service due to faulty work of Karl's.Point is, if you want to bring your car here to get a problem fixed, beware that Karl may cause other problems through negligence and not back his work or his mistakes. Karl even went as far to put words in my mouth saying I told him I was going to replace the struts and get the alignment done. No, Karl, I've talked to one and only one mechanic the past month, I know what I said.Would recommend people find the other handful of decent shops in the area. I did not bring my car with a problem to get the problem fixed, just so Karl can give me another problem without addressing it or even letting me know he knocked my alignment out of whack.

Karl and his workers at S&S Automotive did an awesome job fixing my car. They were quick, had reasonable and fair pricing, and all around did a great job. That kind of service is hard to come by in Rochester. I am so thankful to have my vehicle back and running properly! I started taking my vehicle to Karl 6 months ago. He always provides excellent, reliable, and honest service! He is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure your vehicle is running in top knotch condition! We have had a few major car issues and Karl is always willing to help out immediately! Recently I had a major car issue and he helped work with my extended car insurance warranty to get me a great deal on the repairs. I would recommend Karl 100% on any car repairs! Hands down the best car mechanic in Rochester, MN!

Karl was fast, extremely affordable, and accommodated my schedule to get my vehicle in at 5:30pm the same day I called. I paid about half what I was quoted elsewhere. It is clear he has a ton of experience and knows what he's doing plus he didn't mind chatting with me while he worked! I would visit again and recommend to anyone needing fantastic service at a great price. Good luck with your business.

Repaired my a/c in my 2015 Chrysler 200c with no issues! Last place I went tried to way over charge me and didn't have the right machine and refrigerant for what my vehicle needed. S&S had everything in stock and they were able to get me in the same day I called in and they got it done super fast with no issues and were very fair priced ! Very nice staff and good customer service. I am impressed.Service: A/C installation & repair

Karl is excellent! He has taken care of my family's auto repair needs for a year! I found out about him via a referral, but I believe S&S deserves to be in the spot light among Rochester's top auto repair shops. Their honesty and quality are what keeps me coming back.

Carl was very professional and actually cares about the work he does. I had gotten my wife s brakes done here and a few months later one of the calipers seized(due to a manufacturer defect) Carl took care of everything for no cost to fix it again in a fast manner. We will continue to go here for any repairs we might need! Highly recommend!Service: Brakes

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Been coming here for a year now and I won't go anywhere else. The owner is super friendly, very professional and cares very much about his customers! Replaced my power steering, my serpentine belt, both of my brakes and my ball joint and was very reasonable with pricing. Ditch your old mechanic and come to S&S YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

I met with Karl regarding my airbag indicator who diagnosed my problem quickly & treated me so well. I fully trusted his opinion & he worked with me effortlessly to fix my problem. I was told by another shop that I needed brakes for my Subaru and I was given an $800 estimate. I called around for second opinions and other estimates. Went into S and S and got all the work done for $450. They were very friendly and provided great service, I went go anywhere else. Best place in town.

I have known Carl for many years, hes honest, open, fair and an extremely hard worker. Hes a master at his craft and takes his profession seriously. I have personally seen him go above and beyond to help not only customers (some of whom should have been thrown out of the building) but others in need. With grace, kindness and patience. He is a true professional and extremely trustworthy. Simple as that.

S&S Automotive Repair is a five star repair shop. They have always been honest and up front with my repair needs. I have had two vehicles serviced there including a complete engine replacement. S&S has been able to figure out mechanical issues were other shops could not. I highly recommend them.

Amazing service at a low price. I was having problems with my brakes on a Sunday I thought I was out of luck but Karl and his experienced technicians got me in and got it fixed the same day. Would recommend to anyone looking for friendly reliable service at a great price!

I just took my chrysler 200 there to get a problem with the ABS system fixed. Carl there was extremely friendly and professional. He saw a problem coming up with the process to remove something and called to check before proceding. How thoughtful. He also ended up installing a product for free since he didnt foresee having to replace it before starting. All in all im happy i decided to take my car to S and S Automotive.

Went there to get a car checked out. The seller was on a first name basis with the mechanic and neither of them had anything negative to say. As a woman I go to mechanics to not get taken advantage of. Should've known it was going to go badly when I saw the Trump Pence sign while pulling up to the building.

Was looking for a shop to get my truck fixed. Came across S & S automotive, they gave me a great price on my repairs and even met me on a Sunday to drop off my truck. Which was the only day I could get there.
