It was 2009, we were 2 bikes and were on a cross-country road trip from Seattle to Tampa Bay. We had stopped at the Sturgis rally, and afterward were headed to Milwaukee. Along the way, in southern Minnesota, one of our bikes had a failure and required repair. We were broke down and didn't know anyone locally, and it was around 5pm, so we figured we were stuck for the night (or longer). As we were sitting at the side of the road, a complete stranger asked if we needed help. Once we told him the issue, he said if we could "limp" a little further, he knew where to go, but could not say for sure if the place was still open.We followed him about 10 miles or so to Pratt Blacksmith Shop. As we arrived, they were getting in their vehicle to leave for the day. After discussing our problem, they decided to re-open the shop. They ended up staying late a few hours for us, just to get us back up-and-running. They did a great job fixing the bike, and went completely out of their way to stay open just for us.Then, afterwards, they lead us to a local campground (as we were camping along the way), so we had a place to stay for the night. How awesome is that...We were taken such good care of, and we could never explain how much we appreciate what they did for us weary travelers. They are awesome and I urge anyone in the area of Owatonna, MN to see them, they are worth it.
