This place needs an investor who could update the rooms and the lobby and the hallways. From the outside it s impressive and the location is great. But inside it s very tired and sad. Ohhh the mattresses and the bedspreads and the drapes . But the people were very nice.Noteworthy details: Pet friendly but with a hefty charge

The room I rented it says suite! It was actually room accessible for handicapped, the bathroom had a shower chair and carpet in the room was so dirty, and the price was too much over 260.00 dollars not even a complimentary bottle water in there, I been to high end resorts and suites Oveson is not one of them. Hope they do better in the future!

Wonderful staff, clean rooms, stunning view with fish catching dock, pool and hot tub, local dining (before 7pm) and an open dedication to making your stay amazing! Don't miss it!Nearby activities: Town closes early, but there's a few bars open after that you will find the real adventure at. Enjoy MN!

It was an accident staying here, but it turned out to be a good location. I had searched for pet-friendly hotels in Ely, and this place was in the search results. It was only after I had booked that I discovered it was in Orr. It is closer to Crane Lake, which is one of the places I visited. Only an hour away from Ely. They only charge $25 for having a pet. Nice sized mini-fridge and a small microwave in a separate kitchen area. It is an older resort and definitely could use some updates like new towels. It is conveniently located next to the highway; the downside being the noise. I had a lake-view room, which had a seating area outside.

The pool, sauna, and hot tub were all closed when we got there. Our trip was booked counting on the fact the we would be able to enjoy all these facilities each evening so that was extremely disappointing. The signs stating this appear to have been up for some time yet they continued to advertise these amenities on their website. The breakfast was a pretty poor excuse for a breakfast. If you like carbs you are fine but I was extremely disappointed that there were no egg or meat options. Don t stay here if you are looking for a good healthy start to your day.

Was a nice out of the way spot that you can pay cash for. Rooms are decently priced for what is provided. Pool being open for adults till midnight and drinks allowed for people who wish to partake. Bar was chill... not much in drink making but willing to put in effort to use whats available. Good service and easy going quiet atmosphere.

The only thing that works at this place appears to be the cash register. The hot tub was out of order, the restaurant was closed, and the bar was closed. None of the closures were disclosed when booking the nonrefundable room or we had looked elsewhere. Basically got a bed and a 2-star continental breakfast the next morning for the cost of a room that should have had more amenities available.

This place has a nice staff on site which I liked. However, the beds were rock hard and the pillows were flat. The as advertised hot tub and sauna were closed. The pool was questionable on the last time it was cleaned. Now if you are going to want to be close to the lake and fish this is the place for you. The view is stellar and the location is peak. But since it s Covid right now the town is lacking luster with locations closed. We spent more time finding food than anything. The supposed restaurant was closed. Also the breakfast was a joke. Nothing hot! Stale English muffins and waffles. Barely any protein items not even yogurt or sausage. The milk made my husband sick cause it was actually expired. The rooms smelled funny. This place needs new carpet or something cause the hallways in some areas were putrid. For the price we paid we did not get the value promised. Also I found clothes and socks left behind in my room. I also found a few beetles. The once amazing resort is no more. Next time I will certainly stay a different place.

Don't understand the couple low reviews. May not be the Ritz or some other high dollar fancy hotel, but myself and a lot of other Americans probably will never stay in something that expensive during our lifetime. Friendly staff, very nice spacious room, and clean! Only problem i had was that I had to get up and leave before 0500 for work and not be able to enjoy my stay a while longer. Definitely got all the bang for my buck and would stay here again.

I love the view and the hotel staff are really nice. Especially Mike he's a pretty chill dude, I've hung out with the guy a few times now and he's very helpful. He even said their was a pow wow going in and I really wanted to go but I my crew had a cookout and when he was called into work we gave him a plate of food because he was so generous all week with the service he provides for that place. The breakfast is small but whenever i come in someone made Cinnamon rolls fresh they were delicious!!!They have a dock and a place to cookout which is great for a BBQ. They have a sauna, pool about 5ft. Deep and a hot tub which could seat 8. Very nice hotel. They have an elevator which is nice when you don't feel like taking the stairs. This place is wheelchair accessible so don't worry. But all in all I love this place.

We were doing hiking in the area, so only stayed overnight and couple hours in the morning. Pool was open so kids had fun. There is a dock and we did some early morning fishing. Otherwise pretty standard rooms, nice staff, pets allowed for an additional fee. Overall good impression

Pool, hot tub, and sauna not working. No food or bar as advertised. The game room had only 2 games and none were working. This all resulted in unhappy kids. Room was dirty. Dried blood on curtains and inch of dust on the light fixtures next to the beds. We didn't even get a full roll of toilet paper, it was half gone and no spare. Staff never greeted us when we saw them. Would not recommend.

5 stars for service! We have stayed here twice and they are so cool about letting us check out late on Sunday so we can snowmobile that last day. They also mailed me back my phone charger when I left it in the room. Thank you thank you!!!!! Rooms are clean, but nothing fancy. Refrigerator included with room which is great for drinks. Breakfast is included, rolls, toast, cereal & muffins.

Be ready to read signs on every door. They have information on every door on what you can't do. The pool and hot tub are awesome. Missing the slide, but that was ok. Awesome view of the lake. The restaurant bar and continental breakfast were a little less to be desired. Accommodations were decent, the view overcame the dated look in the room.

What a wonderful place! The staff was so nice and it was pet friendly. The best part was that we had a walk out patio to an amazing view of the lake! The breakfast didn t have any hot food but was still delicious! We wish we would have had time to swim because the pool looked very inviting! We will be back if we are ever in the area again!

Very clean, nice and peaceful and great staff and beautiful scenery! :)Pool is open! Hot tub shut down due to Covid which most hotels are anywhere in this state. The jacuzzi and fireplace were nice and warm. The Bed unfortunately was really hard and there is No restraunt here but the Dam Reatraunt right down the road was amazing as well. Would definately come back here and I would recommend to anyone! :)

It was a very nice hotel. The only problem I had was theft. One of my spare tires for my boat trailer was stolen over night. Parking lot needs more lighting or cameras.

Oveson's Resort was wonderful for our fishing trip to Pelican Lake! The resort was easy to see from the road. It has ample parking for vehicles towing boats/trailers. The staff was friendly and attentive. Sure, the snack selection was limited, but there was a fridge in the room, so we brought our own snacks. The room was clean, tidy and fresh. Stocked with two incredibly comfortable queen sized beds. Firm but not too firm. Very comfortable following a long day in the boat and sun! The pool/hot tub area was in perfect working condition and pristinely kept. In case you're wondering, their wi-fi was fast and reliable. We had a spectacular view of the lake, the vast horizon and the dock (which was where were able to tie our boat securely) from our private balcony. Some of our funnest fishing took place right at the end of the dock!We recommend Oveson's Resort and we'll stay there again.

Husband travels for work. He is gone more than 48 weeks out of the year and has to stay at different hotels do to the locations that he works at. For the last month or so he has been staying at Oveson s pelican resort and it has been fairly decent being the only hotel around for miles...But this week, following Thanksgiving, their boilers went down. They have had no hot water in the hotel. The manager keeps telling him that they are going to have them fixed tomorrow , but so far my husband has got to enjoy a nice freezing showers all week. Yes the temperatures range about 13 on a daily basis up there. I m not sure how my husband hasn t suffered from hypothermia yet. The least they can do is offer a discounted price due to their issues but all he has gotten out of the deal is empty promises that he will have hot water. He will be leaving...***Plus, FYI the pool and the hot tub have been drained for most of his stay, so don t expect that luxury experience that they describe ***

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. My parents were snowed out of their rural cabin on my mom's birthday. Casey helped me book them their nicest suite and went the extra mile to help them with plow services for their future visits. He even helped me surprise them with wine! My parents love their room, are enjoying their stay and her birthday is saved! I can not wait to visit myself when my husband and I move up North. I highly recommend Oveson's to anyone considering staying in the Pelican Lake area.

Amenities were as described. However, both rooms smelled of smoke remnants. First room was horribly odored. We requested another room and were accomodated. The second room was better, but still had a stagnant cigarette smell to it. These rooms need to be deodorized well and I could give it a 5 star. The staff a very friendly and helpful and Sharon's London accent is wonderful to listen to. We will be back with q contingency to the smoke smell. We are going to be notifying management of this as well. Beautiful place and placement on Pelican Lake.

Good, clean room at a decent price. They prepared the free breakfast buffet early for us when we mentioned we had to depart by 5:00 am. Very nice of them to do that. Pretty good breakfast, too!
