This hotel seems nice enough but the staff are extremely rude! I booked my wedding block at this hotel and once guests arrived, they were charged an early check-in fee. this was NEVER communicated and when I asked the GM Angie about it she said its standard and they should of known- HOW WOULD THEY HAVE KNOWN??? She didn't tell ANYONE!!! The contract states that they do not allow early check ins- BUT THEY DID!! She said that guests from the wedding yelled and threw stuff at the staff- WHAT?? NEVER in my life would anyone I know do this!! Not to mention the person who she said did- she also told me her employee should of called the cops- REALLY? over $20 for a platinum member?!?! WOW!!! The manager of this establishment claims that other hotels have early check in fees - where? I have NEVER had an early check in fee at a country inn. I will NEVER EVER stay here again and I would recommend EVERYONE stays AWAY!!!!Rooms: n/aFood & drinks: taco bell and caribou are close

My family had been displaced for a few weeks and had the amazing opportunity to spend those weeks here. Everyone at this hotel management housekeepers front desk staff maintenance the whole establishment ran smoothly and I ve never seen a hotel run like this one. I want to give a special thanks to everyone who had a hand in helping my family during these trying times. You guys are a real treat and super awesome. I e never met a better crew. The manager is also down to earth and shared some of her struggles with me. I m very blessed to have met each and every one of you. A special thank to house keeping. You guys are the glue that hold establishment s like this together and don t get enough credit for that. Kudos. You guys are the best in Minnesota. If your looking for cozy clean and I do mean clean and friendly this is your place to go. The breakfast hours are even geared to making sure everyone has a chance to eat. Cookies in the lobby a wonderful treat. The location amazing. I loved my stay thank you all sooooo much.

The room was adequately clean. The bed was comfortable though one more pillow wouldn t have hurt. The breakfast was hit or miss but had a nice variety at least. The breakfast potatoes were terrible but the eggs sausage and yogurt/strawberry compote was very nice. The pool area was a letdown, the temperature in the room was too hot while the hot tub was not hot enough. Friendly service, loved that there was coffee available in the lobby!

The location itself is nice and feels safe. As mentioned, train tracks are close with a few before 5 am. wake-up calls. Easy enough for us to fall back asleep, but if you are a light sleeper, this may be a deal breaker. Also mentioned, no elevators. Free breakfast if you would like, but we went to Ole Store Restaurant, which is a quick drive from the hotel and worth it. We had 4 rooms for a graduation, all clean. Friendly staff. Taco Bell and Caribou Coffee are close/walking distance.

Hotel staff was pleasant and room was clean. The trains were terrible. Even with supplied ear plugs there was no way to sleep. I can't believe we paid as much as we did for a place next to a train track. I have paid less to stay in nicer hotels in major cities where I sleep without issue.Future patrons should be made aware of the train tracks when booking this hotel. If I could give the location 0 stars I would.Noteworthy details: THE TRAINS ARE LOUD!

We had a wonderful time. The staff was helpful and accommodating in keeping our three rooms together on the same floor. We were able to check in a little earlier which allowed us to enjoy the pool sooner. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Definitely a great spot for us.

The beds were very soft. The staff was fairly new and not entirely confident in their jobs. We had a couple walk in on our room while we were still in it. The hot breakfast was very good though. I'd stay there again, but hopefully they won't make as many mistakes.

Received excellent service from Heather and housekeeping. Pools open until midnight. Hot tub is huge. Computer and printer, fireplace, dining area, onsite laundry and vending machines, and outdoor fire pit were neat. Train noise was loud but I brought a white-noise machine. Quiet building. Thanks!

This hotel is pretty nice, rooms are pretty big, beds are more comfortable than home so I'm grateful. Extra blanket and pillows are also helpful. Breakfast was quite delicious, 3 hot items rotated so you get something different every day. I would definitely stay here again. Location isn't the best if your on the side with the train and are a light sleeper. If that is the case, you can ask for a room on the other side of the hotel.

The stay was overall pleasant, and all of our interactions with staff were quite cordial, however, the room we stayed in was definitely starting to show it's age. It certainly wasn't bad condition, but nothing to write home about. The location of the hotel is great, except that it's right next to an active railway. Fortunately I heard no trains during the night. They have an indoor pool, but we did not swim in it. Breakfast is near the lobby and consists eggs, sausage, waffles, pastries, bagels, yogurt, cereal and juice.

Very clean place and friendly staff. Pretty decent breakfast provided. Pool and hot look nice, didn't get a chance to get in. One downside is the train tracks that run very near the building. I didn't notice trains through the night but others had issues sleeping while trains passed . Probably stick to the end of the building further away from them and you'll be fine, unless you're a light sleeper. Really the only downside.

Normally I don't give reviews for hotels and I usually don't believe people when they say they had a horrible experience. I guess I'm that statistic now. My stay was just terrible. The room had black shoe polish all over the floor. The coffee table had red blood looking liquid on it. The wall paper was peeling off the walls. Huge cobwebs in the corners of the room. A bag of mms wedged between the fridge and wardrobe closet. Very thick dust on the entertainment center. Nasty spots on the couch. We told office about the room they offered another one to us but it needed to be cleaned first. They said half an hour. We waited but it wasn't ready yet. They said they would call us when it was ready. So we went downtown and they never called us. So we finally called 3 hrs later and they said it was ready. New room was a little cleaner. Wall paper still falling off wall. Opened water bottle on night stand from previous guest. No toilet paper in bathroom. We decided to stay. Bad experience all around. Very disappointed.

Hotel is ok but way over priced!!! Staff is friendly. Beds are not the best. Some are really soft and some are a bit firmer, depends on the room you get. Breakfast was ok. Coffee was good! We had a street side room luckily, otherwise we would have heard the train even more. Train woke us up sometimes. The pool looked poor and needs a serious update. The water (shower) has too much chlorine and makes the skin very itchy.

Nice hotel but really rude staff. Didn't see a single staff member smile. One of them came in the pool yelled for open swim to get out because of a birthday party. We were not there for open swim. Came back in accusing us of being open swim when my father in law had a room there. All the yelling she did was for nothing because we ended up being gone long before the Birthday party started.

Simple, but nice. Older air-conditioning units are loud but effective. The small fridge and microwave are nice for thrifty visits. The breakfast is simple, mass scrambled eggs, some form of sausage or bacon, and gravy. Bagels and toast, cereal, and yogurt available. The coffee is good! The staff seemed under-trained, but very kind.

Nice place for the money, friendly staff. The thing they don t tell you is that trains go all night directly behind the hotel. There is a hill behind the hotel, and the tracks run on top of that making the trains the same level as the 2nd story. They went past at 1-3 am then again at 4-6 am. Worst morning alarm I ve ever had.

Extremely overpriced. We were charged $250 per night for the most basic room imaginable. The fridge was broken and dirty. Also, be aware that if you are on the back side of the building a freight train past the length of the building about 10 feet from your bed. Prepare to be woken up multiple times per night (2:30 am, 4:00 am) by the blast of the train whistle. The only benefit is its location near the colleges.

Very overpriced....paid $150 for one night and that was the military rate! Hotel needs an update and to be cleaned. There was mold growing above our shower (Room 211). This was not 'normal wear and tear' from an aging bathroom because I was able to wipe some if it off with a washcloth. The hallways look run down. Didn't ask for a new room because my infant son was already asleep. Didn't have time to talk with management because we flew out of Minnesota early the next morning on an international flight.Breakfast was good but the dining area is very cramped. We did hear the train at night...you can see the tracks from the window in the room. The best thing about the hotel are the comfortable beds.We stayed at the hotel in October 2015.
