I'll never go to another shop again! This place is hands down the best auto shop in the twin cities... They work hard to not rip you off, And even the expensive repair seems cheap here.On top of being very cost-effective they do excellent work, I've had transmissions replaced here, regular maintenance done, and just about every repair I can imagine, never have issues afterward. They'll even install your own parts if you purchase them, which I did with a catalytic converter one year.Just amazing guys!!

If you want to support a small, local, and, best of all, thriving business this is the place for you. They do excellent work at a more than fair price. I have been going here, for the better part of 33 years, and will continue coming here until my car keys are taken away.There is a reason this place is always packed with cars and appointments are a week out. It is because they are trusted and do great work. Sure they might not be overly chatty and have the best counter service, but that is because there are only three of them and they are trying to get back to work.P. S. When looking at the one star reviews, consider the source. The most recent 1 star was given by someone who ONLY has 1 star reviews. I love this shop they never try to fix unnecessary stuff and the pricing is fair. My go to shop. Incredibly fair priced, no hassle, no BS. I recommend them to all my family and friends because of the service I recieve. Came in a bit under the quote even. Excellent service! I thought I needed a brake job, they called and said the brakes were fine. They could have easily replaced them and charged me and I wouldn't have known. They diagnosed another problem, after I asked them if it needed any other work. They did the work and came in under the estimate. Very friendly and a pleasure to work with.

I talked with Andy when he worked on my car. He let me know approximately what the repairs would cost upfront before doing any repairs. No surprises. Some garages call you after the work is done. Nice guy. Thank you !!

I'm a firm believer that the auto repair industry should be regulated. All to often they take advantage of people by reporting false diagnostics, unnecessary repairs and overcharging for parts & labor. If you are lucky enough to find a mechanic that is honest, it is as they say "worth its weight in gold".Lamotte & Sons is that mechanic! I brought two different vehicles to them, each time they did not falsely diagnose the issue, even when I reported what I thought the problem might be, which would have been a more expensive repair they corrected my assessment and repaired the true issue at much less of a cost. Needless to say I will be taking my vehicles to them from now on.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

Not impressed. I took my vehicle to them and had the distinct impression that they didn't care whether they had my business or not. There was zero friendliness, or even thanking me for choosing them. Worse yet, my repair was done very sloppily (a window motor had to be replaced) so the controls are literally hanging off my door handle. I will go somewhere in the future where my business is appreciated.

This place dos excellent work iv brought alot of people I know here to get there cars fixed and nobody ever complained of any bad work done and vary reasonable rates iv even had customers of mine that I brought here recommended them to there friends and family

I've had work done in the past and had been happy, a few months ago I brought my Corvette in for diagnosis, it was dying at any time,Andy said it was simple and he fixed it,so I picked it up and it died 40 seconds later, I brought it back and a few days later was told $821 for the Distributoand labor, which I thought was high, but I really wanted my car back, it's already been about a , week, and I hadn't recieved one return call, so I stopped in and they said I will be done tomorrow, I waited for a call saying it was done. Never got it, so I stopped picked it up, drove to my son's and there it sat, wouldnt start, another phone call, w/o response, a voicemail w/o response, finally get ahold of the shop, they go get it and several days later, still not returning my calls, I stopped in, they were working on it (I think) but very rude when I asked about a time frame, so eventually I'm told the brand new very expensive distributor went bad, so a couple more days go by, again not one return call, so I call, they say it's done, I pick it up and drive it, seemed fine till a stop light, it puttered wanting to quit running, that happened often sometimes even dying in busy traffic, I made several calls to this shop, leaving a couple voicemails, and NOT 1 RETURN ANYTHING, they forgot to tell me I'd have to brake with my left foot and feather the throttle with my right foot so it doesnt die at stop signs/lights and busy traffic. I just wanted my car fixed in a timely fashion at a reasonable price, I should have went with the other shop, who was $241 cheaper, but most importantly, treated me with respect, and returned my call

Hard working and honest. I dropped my car off one day and it had a rattle in the exhaust system...he replaced the clamp and never charged me. Best place in this area. Have to make an appointment for non emergency repairs. My son had a Blazer and one mechanic told him a new engine when it would not start..long story..but I had his car towed there and it had a bad distributor gear. Cost under $200.00. I will use these guys until the day i die or they retire.

Honest and fairly priced . What more could you ask for???? I see a few reviews stating that they are not very friendly..... Really??? They do Great work it's a small shop they are always busy. If your car repair needs a high traffic location, fancy lobby, and a salesman to upsell you, go somewhere else. If you want quality work at a very fair price where the only person you talk to is the mechanic who works on your car, this is the place to go. Family owned and operated.

I would give it a zero star if I could. Had an appointment at 9am for an oil change. Guy at the front deak told me it would take a half an hour. With no ride I walked around for awhile. After a half an hour I came back and they haven't even touched my car and no one was in sight. I waited for another half an hour inside the small waiting room and the workers passed by me like I wasn't there. I called my mother to pick me up and we ran some errands. We came back around closing time and my car was still in the exact place I parked it in the morning. I went back inside and grabbed my car keys since they just leave them out for anyone to grab and left without anyone even noticing.

They're really good at what they do and very reasonable priced. Their customer service is the reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars. They're nice but they're not there to talk to you or make conversation they want you in and out.

Went there with 5 different cars over 8 years never had a problem until recently when they just seemed like they didn't really care about my business or fixing my car. The last time I went there the owner even went so far as to pick a fight with me because I complained how long they had my car and had done no work terrible customer service wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
