Fair shake. They did great with my pilot and gave me the run down on our burner car. Weren't surprised or pushing when I I explained we would leave it alone as it had served it's purpose for us.

We were half way through a 6 week travel adventure when our truck AC failed. Temps in the high 90's and traveling with 2 dogs, receipt for disaster. Made many phone calls but noone could take us on short notice. Ray's was the exception. So friendly and professional. No upsale pressure, found the problem immediately and had is up and running in no time. Even took care of a much needed oil change. Cost was better than reasonable. Thank you Rays!! Highly recommend these dine folks!!

I was driving with the kids, and needed to get a flat tire fixed. I came in this morning, but they said with the cars already there today, they wouldn't be able to get to mine until the afternoon. But since they were decent, kind human beings, they actually referred me to a different shop that might have a shorter line. They cared more about me and my family getting our vehicle fixed in a timely manner, than they did about getting our money. You don't find people like that at every auto shop!I'll definitely be going back in the future.

My son's car was not safe to drive due to a faulty part and wheel bearings that needed to be replaced. The car was scheduled to go in Friday for repairs, we brought it in Thursday and was told a part to fix the car was in Grand Forks. The car was fixed and ready to go by 2:45 Friday! Kudos for getting his car fixed in record time!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance

I really like going to Ray's for any vehicle issues I have - the staff is always friendly, and I feel the work they do to my vehicle is thorough and good quality. I wouldn't trust any other shops in the F/M area, as they always seem to try to gouge more money out of you. Ray's seems very honest and hard-working. They provide a loaner vehicle if needed and available, and after 3 oil changes the 4th one is free.

I was recommended to go to Ray from my car's previous owner and won't go to anyone else! This team is very good at being upfront and honest with any problems they may find while doing a simple service. Have always been efficient with changing my oil and often get me in earlier than my original appointment time so that I can go about me day. It is also nice to get follow up messages from them asking if everything is still in working order in the weeks following the service they do. Definitely recommend!!

Amazing customer service! They do check backs via email or text after services are complete making sure that everything went well and I feel like they really do care. When I've had to take my car in before work Ray himself took the time to make sure I made it to work on time while my car was still getting work done. I live in west Fargo and anytime I need work done I'd rather drive the 20 minutes to Moorhead than go anywhere else.

Just had a block heater installed in my Chev. Impala. Great service, fair price, very nice staff. Pleasant experience. Thanks Jeremi, Chad, Ray, and rest of staff. Bringing in my other vehicle next week for same thing. A Great Community Business. GO Ray's.

They were super nice and accommodating. I won a free oils change and since it was more expensive oil I planned to pay more but I really got a free oil change. Quoted some work at really reasonable prices so very pleased so far.

Rays is wonderful. I did have one instance where I felt unsure with them and they were more than willing to make it right and explain things to me. I do not trust my car with anyone else. They are honest and if the price is higher it s worth it to get the correct problem fixed the first time. I first started coming to rays because another machanic had told me a car needed a new fuel pump, rays said it did not just needed a good cleaning and worked great after they did it! Now I ve been coming for years and don t plan on stopping any time soon! Thanks to everyone at rays for doing such a great job! I appreciate you all and apologize again for being difficult that one time!

They took great care of my daughters car. They locked the keys in her car and jimmied the lock to get her on her way. Fair pricing and honest people. Check out my other reviews.....I rarely give 5 stars.

Don't trust them with tires. I got new tires put on here in Sept. I went back to get a second set of tires put on Feb. (First red flag) I set up an appointment for 3 tires to be put on and 4 valve stems. I told them specifically that I had leaking tires and that my boyfriend didn't think they checked the valve stems or the seals when they did itthe first time. They only wrote down 1 valve stem and all they did was put on the inner valve.... Surprise I had a flat tire Sunday morning... So I called and left a message... No one called me back.... I showed up and they said they would squeeze me in. They then charged me $90 more dollars "labor". So I got to pay them twice to take tires off and put them back on because they didn't do their job right not once but twice.... Maybe they do alright at oil changes I don't know but don't trust them with your tires...

I have a love-hate relationship with Ray's.First, I love the staff at Ray's. They are the kindest, sweetest people. Extremely friendly and positive, they make the experience at Ray's worthwhile. Not only that, but they do a great job. Whenever I've had work done there it's been timely and I haven't had to bring it in again for the same problem!I also really like the oil-change deal they have, buy 3 get the 4th free, and a free oil change if you recommend them to other people, plus it's not super expensive. In addition to the oil-change deal, they'll also do a complete inspection on your car for free. As a college student that needs every penny I can get, I think these deals are great and worth looking into. However, I don't go to Ray''s a lot for the same reason. I'm a college student and can't afford it. I've gone in for oil changes on my car, they'll ask if I want the free inspection and I say, "Sure! If it's free why not!?!" So I wait, and when they come back they always tell me there's something wrong with my car. They're not wrong! However, I have noticed they are prone to making the problem seem bigger than it is.Perhaps this is miscommunication between the people who work the desk and the people in the shop, but I've had them HIGHLY RECOMMEND services to me, only to go home to my dad and my local auto shop who tell me it's not worth fixing at the moment cause it'll just cost me more money than it's worth, or what's most often the case, they tell me there's not actually a lot wrong with the parts they noted in the inspection. For example, they put down that my coolant for my Buick was dirty and needed to be flushed out. It was suggested that I get it fixed that day because the office clerk said it was extremely important so the engine doesn't overheat. I was a bit busy so I decided I'd bring it home and get it fixed. I bring it back and my dad says, "Your Buick takes orange coolant. It says right on the cap that the coolant is a different brand and not the other green color, so of course when it gets some use it's going to look a little browner." In Ray's defense, it did have some use. However, it wasn't as dire as Ray's representative made it out to be.Another thing that I noticed is that they're a bit on the pricey side. I don't really fault them on this, after all they are a small business. They can't afford to offer extremely discounted services. Also, if people are willing to pay for it, great! This is just something that I am weary of because I am a college student, and when they make a pebble sound like a boulder, people can end up spending a lot of money in fear when they might really need that money for something else.I strongly live by the "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" ideology, and this is my second time going to Ray's where I felt like they pushed repairs and expenses that weren't in my best interest. Of course, my experience with Ray's is not terribly different from the experience of my friends in the neighborhood. In fact, the person who originally recommended me to Ray's has stopped going here because of steep prices that ended up costing her twice as much as it would have at a different place. So overall, the work done at Ray's is good work, they have very friendly staff, and they're great at oil changes! But take some of their less urgent car repair suggestions with a grain of salt and consult someone knowledgeable in automobiles so you, who may not have that knowledge, can asses whether or not the repairs are in your best interest.I personally plan on going to Ray's again for their great college student deals and oil changes, but from now on I'll probably be taking my larger car services somewhere else.

I've gone to Ray's since my college days and they have never disappointed. You don't believe? Well here's a lovely short story that will bring you to tears and change your mind:Back in 2015 when I was a college undergrad and had a job as a delivery driver for JJs, my car started making a distinct noise that indicated the brakes were grinding on the rotors. Being the young chap that I was, I did my diligence and reached out to many shops and decided to take the car into a shop that wasn't Ray's. This all happened the morning before my next shift. I was doomed. Well, when I took my car into the other shop that morning they ended quoting me literally TWO THOSAND DOLLARS for a new brakes and rotors. Remember... I'm a broke college kid delivering sandwiches for income who doesn't have that kind of money (but do have common sense). I end up calling Ray's to see if they could fit the project into their schedule before the end of the day (I brought the car to them at 2) and what do you know.. they ended up replacing my rear brakes and rotors for a FRACTION of the price and all got it done before the end of the day at 5.I had my car ready freaky fast and stopping faster than anyone else on the streets. If that isn't crazy good service than I don't know what is good any more. 12/10 stars. Highly recommendable. Tell your momma, aunty, sister, brother, grandparents, and friends about Ray's.

I don't know what to think of this place but I have come to the conclusion that I can't trust them completely, especially with all the things I've heard from other mechanics about other places forgetting to put in new oil after a simple oil change. I do have to give them this... They do quality work, when it's done correctly. I had clutch work done recently on a Jeep. The clutch was so worn it failed to engage, and the throwout bearing was completely shot causing my Jeep to stay stuck in 1st gear. They refused to give estimates over the phone. So I had to drive my Jeep stuck in 1st gear to the shop. They gave me an estimate at around $600 for a new clutch and throwout bearing. It ended up being around $1000 due to another problem (understandable). But here's where it got worse. A few days after the clutch work I was driving around town and I went to push the clutch pedal down to put it into 3rd gear just after getting out of a stop light and "CLICK!" the clutch pedal wouldn't move at all, even with all my weight on it. The Jeep got stuck in neutral and I started to roll backwards through the intersection almost hitting other cars on University Drive leaving me in a very dangerous situation. Luckily someone came by and helped me push it up the incline and around the corner so I could get out of the middle of the road. I rolled under my Jeep and I could see what the problem was immediately. The hydraulic line coupling that goes into the transmission to the throwout bearing wasn't fastened properly. The mechanic there said he was sorry and said he'd never seen this happen before. Luckily the 12 month warranty covers all the work they did. Got a free tow back and they did the coupling correctly this time. They did a 48 point inspection for my vehicle but failed to tell me about the crappy exhaust job that someone did in the past (the catalytic converter and pipes have holes all over them that I couldn't see at a glance) the rear brakes being completely shot (tire needs to be taken off to do so, I couldn't do it at the time). At the time I knew very little about mechanical maintenance on vehicles. I'm doing most of it myself now. It just erks me that they did something incorrectly. Overall I would recommend this place for serious work, such as clutches, engines, and the like, but for oil changes, brakes, and other simple things, do it yourself or go somewhere else or have a friend do it.

There is so much I wish I could say but my Facebook post exceeded the character limit. I will sum it up and say that this is not only a business that cares about it's community but it also cares about it's customer's.After a debacle where I reached out to them with my grievances they went the extra mile to re-earn my business and more importantly they made the wrong right.I have never been treated so kindly in my 43 years by a repair garage as I have most recently. Thank you Ray's you went above and beyond expectations to make things right. You reached out further than you had to.You can be assured you have a customer for life and I will share my experience with anyone I come across that is looking for auto repair. From the bottom of my heart I truly appreciate what you did for me.James VanRadenOwner- engageBUILD

Dropped off a car that was leaking coolant, it ended up being the pump. I was not made aware of this and they did the repair without checking with me about the price or letting me know what was wrong. The price was $700 ish. Horrible pricing and horrible service go somewhere else in Moorhead.

They charged me for the estimate! -which most places do for free. Afterwards I said ok I'll let you know if I decide to get the work done here and he said, 'well your car isn't drivable, so you really don't have a choice.' I said, 'What? I just drove it here.' He gave me a dirty look and I said 'I want my keys back' and he just walked away. If you provide a valuable service, you shouldn't have to intimidate customers using scare tactics to run a profitable business. Another man behind the counter said, 'don't worry ma'am, we're God-fearing people. We won't screw you over.' and proceeded to charge me $70 for running a computer scan on my car.*Saw the response to my review from the shop-I went to college in this city for three years-but you're assuming because i've moved around since graduation I must have the wrong place? This also shows that you've looked at my other reviews from other experiences I've had-instead of working on your customer service you're attacking reviewers by snooping on their online behavior? What a cop out from the so called owner of this establishment! says a lot about them. It couldn't be possible the man who mistreated me lied, why after all would someone tell the truth about treating a customer that badly? I'm letting my friends who remain in that city know to steer clear of this place

We brought my vehicle in to have a brake system sensor replaced for over $1000. When we picked it up, there s still an error message on my vehicle and they want another $60 to diagnose that. I shouldn t be picking up a vehicle with an error message.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I had a weird electrical problem which wasn't fixed correctly by the previous mechanic in West Fargo. Not only did this mechanic fix it right, he also repaired the mistake the older mechanic in West Fargo made!

Brought my car in for a no start issue. They said it was a fuel pump, after an $820.00 bill, immediately after pulling put of lot, coolant started pouring from the radiator, after talking to them, they said it wasnt their fault. Then, when i pulled into fill up gas, the tank wouldnt fill and poured out the side of the tank. Im not impressed and hope people think twice before going here.

I've had work done at Ray's before, but NEVER again. Came in to get a quote on a part I needed installed - knew what was wrong but Ray would not give me a quote - instead got a BS runaround and told I had to have to make an appointment first. Just needed a quote, like any competent repair shop would give - ridiculous to play that game. Done with Ray - not going back.
